  • Welcome to the newer and improved reconstruction of the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest. The purpose of this video is to replicate the ideal look of the televised contest while using whatever footage is available, wether it’s from the actual contest, or the participants singing their songs outside of the contest, or simply footage of the participants if no such video of them is known to surface.
Special thanks to ‪@awugaESC‬ for making the credits. Thanks for watching and being patient, and please enjoy.
    NEW CHANGES:
This version is redesigned from the original to better replicate previous contests to make it seem more legit. This video also uses partial commentary audio from Danmarks Radio (DR) channels P1 and P3 from an unknown commentator. However it stops during the beginning of Spain’s entry.
    ISSUES REGARDING THE ENDING:
The program lasted for 1:40:30 minutes according to a catalog page from INA, a French broadcaster. This means that about 5 minutes of audio are still missing with little to no context of what those 5 minutes comprised of.

I’ve also noticed that there’s a problem at the end of the audio. In the audio on UA-cam, there’s no audio of Svend Pedersen giving Gigliola Cinquetti her trophy or the reprise. Instead it skips to the audio of the original performance. If anyone knows about a full version of the audio, please inform me.
Special thanks to @awuga for making the credits.

Thank you so much for ur hard work.. ❤🎉
I can't believe there is no footage.. How can it be that not one of national broadcasters made a recording back then

    • @Catiko

The BBC used to have one, but an empty tape canister was found marked "Eurovision 1964" (reportedly wiped for future recordings). Also, the Danish broadcaster said they never recorded it, but there is a picture of multiple cameras in the arena, so the Danes *have* to have a recording of it somewhere.

Hello lewis the thing, i think that the last 5 minutes that are still missing, is where a man and the host say goodbye and the background are the soldiers, it was after the performance of Italy reprise

It should have been before the reprise, or?

The man seen in some of the photos on the DR website is Bent-Fabricius Bjerre, who was the artistic director and gave instructions on the people involved. I don’t believe he cohosted with Wæver.

@@jejtherusheddoodle23 no i did not meant that the man is the host, i said that the pictures that im telling you are where the man and the host is telling something mostly maybe at the end because at some point no other man was speaking in the availble audio, that make me think that it could be the last 5 minutes of the show

10:43 I was born in 1974. However, I am sure that this video clip of Anneke Grönloh was not taken during Eurovision 1964. It is because I do not see any big microphones in front of her, like I saw in her photograph taken during the event.

      Thanks for replying!
I couldn’t find footage of Gronloh singing her song outside of Eurovision, so instead I used a similar bit of footage I found of her.
Only 5 others in this reconstruction don’t have available footage of the artists singing the songs, one of which I found after making this video.

@@jejtherusheddoodle23 I wonder why they did not record Anneke Grönloh's performance at that time. She was the first and the only Asian singer in that event.

you do realise that the eurovision footage is partially lost, so there's no footage of anneke gronloh of the event
