- ROW REDUCE LIKE DR SEUSS:
Oh, all those numerous and nasty equations!
All the plugging and chugging, it takes too much patience.
I've got just the thing for such an awful occasion:
It's mighty, it's sleighty! It's Gauss-Jordan Elimination!
First, our equations enjoy preparation.
Each variable is queued in ascending gradation.
Once aligned and accounted, their nice numeral agents,
Get bumped to a matrix in corresponding locations.
Next, we apply a few matrix operations:
Addition and subtraction. Division, multiplication.
Yes, our rows are massaged with arithmetication,
Until they're reduced to the simplest notation.
Lo', all of our multiplex math manueveration,
Concludes with a comely, concise configuration.
The name of this sexy and subtle sophistication?
She goes by Row Reduced Echelon Formation.
To the left: a delightful diag-one-alation.
To the right: our solutions, in column notation.
Such a time-saving tool! Such a cool calculation!
It's mighty, it's sleighty! It's Gauss-Jordan Elimation!
My video on solving equations with a matrix: • How to Solve Equations...
this video is INSANE. You make it look so easy and it's almost so motivating... until I go back to my problems.
+OmriSama My newer videos have more motivation juice. Come back and visit!
@@JesseMason why did you stop making these :(
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Real learning goes beyond the textbook, thank you for your creativity. Loved the way you explain.
Wow. Kudos on making a great video. I find it amazing you were able to film the exercise and leave enough time to voiceover the content, that takes some incredible planning or amazing skills!
I've been stuck on how to solve this using linear algebra for a while.... you answered all my questions and more. Thank you so much! please keep making vids, its hard to find good videos like these the higher i go into engineering. Youre awesome
+iceiceisaac Glad to give you a hand and best of luck with your career in engineering!
I was just randomly searching for Kirchhoff's rules.....guess what!!!
u r amazing sir.....just amazing
Thank you! I kept messing up my matrix when i was doing these on my own. And instead of making a new current writing it in terms of the others is beautiful! learned a ton
I really wished my electrical teacher to be someone like you. Thank you so much for the video by the way!
Congrats, Dave! So glad to have been a help. Best wishes for a peaceful and prosperous journey!
instablaster...
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! i passed my Physics class!!! this is a big help for me. More power to you Jesse Mason! God Bless!
This is the best explanation on UA-cam. Thank you! Make more!!!
Cheers, Michael! More on the way... =)
This helped a lot. I use Cramer's method though. But your tutorial is so easy to understand. Saved me a lot of time reviewing. Keep it up!
YOU MAKE ME LOVE PHYSICS MORE!
YOU SHOULD POST A LOT OF VIDEOS!
Thanks a ton! I have exam coming up next week and today I took up an assignment of which I thought I could literally solve nothing and fail but after watching this I am able to solve most of them!!
You cleared all my doubts about how to choose current directions. Turns out we actually don't, hahah. Thank you so much!
This video explains things so well thanks. I couldn't find any good explanation and I was so confused about the loop law
Thanks a lot!!!!! I was confused for about a year. Thanks for explaining.
I love your videos, Jesse. Can you make one that details about the difference between how current flows through a short circuit and a fused circuit? This concept always confuses me. Thanks
i learned the beauty of the kirchoffs law from you,sir....THANKS A LOT...
Thank you for explaining this subject perfectly for me .
This video helps a lot, now I really understand Kirchhoff's Rules! Thanks!
I hope I do well tomorrow on the exam!
+mijnkleinown Cheers!
You, sir, are a life-saver.
This helped me understand crucial parts of kirchoffs laws which will help me in my finals! You just earned yourself a new subscriber xD love your videos so far !
Jaafar Harari I'm so pleased to hear that. Best of luck with your finals, Jaafer!
Thankyou for this video! I have a circuit with 3 loops. The first loop has a voltage source of 140 volt,( which is connected to ground from the negative side, a 20 ohm resistor and a 6 ohm resistor. The second loop had just a 5 ohm resistor and then the 6 ohm resistor from the 1st loop. The third loop has a current source of 18 A and the 5 ohm resistor from the second loop. When I apply the loop rule I cannot rewrite the equations so they aren't equal to 0. I cannot use that for gauss elimination, right? Is this even a technique I can use for such a circuit?
Suddenly it's looking very easy . Thank You so much.
can you tell me how we finde kvl , kcl and currunt in a three loop circuit plzzzzz
nice! I learned something new. Time to apply what I didn't learn from my advance algebra class. 😂
if the determinant of the matrices is in negative. does its matters on solution of electronic circuit solution?
Helped me on my electrical engineering homework. Thank you!
Is the process the same if I eliminate the 2nd voltage?
Pls keep making educational Videos like this, so helpful
Glad you liked it. Unfortunately, I don't foresee a Wheatstone Bridge video in the near future. Perhaps someday though.
Can I also do this using crammers rule? I am getting
I1=0.13 ampere.
HELLO, exam is tomorrow if you are free please someone respond
why does @ 3:04 mark we can see in equation B we get a "+6" when we are going WITH the current but he says against the current
but in equation C which is the same thing except the battery we "-8" ??
Incredibly helpful. Thanks a lot! Hope I need some more help again!
why when you the voltage jumps the equal sigh and doesn't change
why do we multiply through by negative 1 for loop A and B???
The position of the battery in loop 2 and 3 are the same , the loop are both clockwise , but why for LOOP 2 the voltage (4V) is positive but for LOOP 3(8V) the voltage is negative ?. Can u explain ? Thank you
can u plz explain how to find potential easily of a complex circuit?
why did you multiply by negative 1 for the first 2 equations (loop A and loop B)? I know that if I get a negative answer with the matrix that the direction I assumed for the current is the wrong way. I am trying to correctly enter the coefficients into my T1-84 calculator and do rref([A}) but I am not getting the correct signs.
sir can we solve this problem using a 3x3 matrix ? (3x3 multiplied with a column matrix xyz/I1I2I3 equals to the numerical value)
dont you think for node "C" the voltage should be +ve ???
Awesome explanation. Cheers from Brazil!
can someone tell me why it 2:24 is -5? its a voltage increase why is it negative?
Why was the Loop C equation not multiplied by -1 like equation A & B @3:51?? Thank you
Do you have to first reduce your circuit before applying kirkoff rules, or you can applying kirkoff rules directly without reducing anything?
best explanation of Kirchoff's Law on YT , thanks!
thanks for the kind words, Omega!
So beautifully done. Thank you.
Still watching it in 2020!!Very helpful bro!!!
Around 4:05, why is the voltage -8 instead of positive 8. Isn’t it going with the flow?
Hi Jesse, a great video but when you multiply row 3 by 3/46, this means you have the following 3/46 x 161/5 for the constants column, this does not equal 7/10?, the 7/10 is the correct answer.
Wow , such a nice videos , cant believe its 7 years back . PLs respnd , want to check whther your are there or not
That technique is so fun and simple. Thanks Mason!!!
YES! Glad to hear it!!
this was really very helpful! thank u soo much man! cheers to u! 😄
Thank you very much i have liked it. I was actually going to fail my papers , now i count an A+
Thanks for the poem too! Very easy to remember.
Why the 6I is positive in loop B?
why does he multiplied it by (-1) to remove all the negative? what if I leave it as it is as an equations by not removing the negative? will my answer still be the same? *Wondering*
it's great to learn from such an awesome and motivating but also a strange......teacher...
thanks for your dedication.......
Strrrrrrrrrrange!? =) Cheers from Detroit, Junaid!
please sir tell me why you took -- 5i1--6i2--3i3 at 2:29?? why u took all negative if current is flowing clockwise please help tommorow is my test
Can the currents be found without using a matrix?
At loop B why +4 ?? It's going with the same direction as the current
Hi will you upload video on capacitors
Love your voice while you explain it, tqvm. Hope you do good in now life
how can you verify that you completed the task well ?
thank you so much !!!!! you just made my day better !!!!!
I'm flattered!
im so happy i came across this video!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh this was awesome!!!
Why did you change the Negative and positive signs
So easy. you explain very clear. Muchas gracias por el video.
i love the way your explain stuff but do you mind on adjusting the lighting please. thanks
thanks it cleared all my doubts about this law
was verryyy helpful ! i thank you professeur Jesse =D
I really loved the explanation .
You changed your first two rows so that the first number in each was positive and you didn't for the third so it makes a big difference. Is that a mistake or if not could you tell me what I missed?
Ohhhhhhhhh so glad you liked it!!
You are a joyful badass teacher 💪🙌
Thanks !! Please make more videos.
It helped me a lot buddy. You are awesome.👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
Thank You so much this video was extremely helpful
Not sure what you mean by "reduce" the circuit...
why are you using negative for resistance
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! you are life saver ! that was really helpful
Yo @jessemason which is shorter the matrix method or the straight forward method to solve a simultaneous eqn
Matrix if you can do it. (And solving the matrix in your calculator is even faster.) Cheers, Shadow!
Best teacher ever seen
Thank u
This is best method I have ever saw. Thanks to share it! :p
+Gurender Singh Cheers, man!
3:40, it seems like the source of current should be noted as positive in the loop C
Can you make a video to teach wheatstone bridge ?
Btw, very helpful video. Thanks.
shouldnt it be minus when the loop is against the current.....
Do you think the table is an appropriate way to format your answers in college? I’m still early in circuits, but I’ve never seen that!
Yes, and it makes calculations so much easier!
Thanks so much ,its really awesome 👏👏👏💯💯💯
Thank you Jesse!
Now i see how useful matrices are! :D
+Aakanksha Jain My favorite use, actually.
is there a way to solve this without a matrix?
if you are into writing Computer Graphics programs, matrix knowledge can do pretty neat tricks too!!!
Yes, but I recommend watching a 15min video on Gaussian and Gauss-Jordan elimination in double speed... It is a much quicker method. The alternative is to set a system of equations and solve with simple algebra. (x+2y=3 and 2x+2y=3 subtract 2nd equation from the first to eliminate y, find the resulting x, plug it back in and find y.) Of course, a 3rd equation makes simple algebra much more time consuming. Engineering demands max ease.
great video, thanks for the help!
how do you assign polarities? :( Sorry, I'm really confused with the signs.. I cant move ahead with the lesson
Dear Daine he has also made mistakes in alloting signs to the voltages...u better ask someone else
the most confused part is about the battery 4V and 8V. I don't know how matter its polarity in the circuit. It makes me confused when trying to identify the loop and the way or current flows. Any can help?
I can help you but it is too late:D
very good and simple teaching technic
nice! i got to use something i learned from linear algebra!
Simplification. Helps when doing it by hand.
Awesome video! Thanks!
thanks for such a great video
