    I taught this to my wrestlers. One of them executed beautifully in a match and got the pin. The next day he told me his dad was mad at him for using that move. I didn't understand why and I still don't.

      Its somewhat unreliable and some view it as an inferior technique. However, some ppl at the high level have pulled off big wins with it.

      @JoeScioli interesting. I hear coaches talk about "bad" moves and such. But I see those "bad" moves performed at high levels. I don't really think of any move as bad. They all have there place and it's dependent on not just the wrestler performing them but also the opponent they're facing.

      Joe Scioli it's more of a judo move, but you go from one move standing, and all of a sudden you see a guy flip over hip, and then end up pinned in a side headlock, also, check my wrestling vid, and give me pointers

    Coaching Ethics ... Teaching a move that is designed to choke off your opponent (blood choke) and render him unconscious while pinning him .. There is NO PLACE FOR THIS MOVE OR THIS COACH IN HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING .!!

    • @JoeScioli
      @JoeScioli  4 роки тому +4

      ttabbles you must not follow wrestling. Lol. I didnt discover this move nor have I seen a wrestler put out by it. Theres a possible blood choke here but thats the refs call in potentially dangerous or the wrestling ruling body to outlaw it. Until then its legal and theres the tutorial.

    • @ray.n_l

      Really? Are you gonna ban front headlocks too?

    • @cloudwarrior1921
      @cloudwarrior1921 3 роки тому

      If it follows the guidelines for legal wrestling I will absolutely use it. People don’t buck when they don’t have air. Ultimately it’s a ref’s call.

    Joe > Wizard> Cloud Warrior ...>>> I hate to break your bubble, especially as you have pointed out ( I guess you Know it all) that I have very little experience... Other than High school and college wrestler , head wrestling coach , wrestling official , rules interpreter, and national wrestling rules committee... other than that not much ! The assassin has been labeled as potentially dangerous if the official can stop it in time, and ILLEGAL if the offensive wrestler follows thru with it ..NFHS has sent out information to all states, as I described and is the national rule . It is actually unfortunate that we had to do that. But as I said, some coaches have no ethics.!! .Choking your opponent out has no place in high school wrestling. Especially, an adult who is entrusted with the health, safety, and guidance , of young high school student athletes, should know better. ... My question is why anyone would have to explain that to you.

    • @JoeScioli
      @JoeScioli  3 роки тому

      I didnt invent the move, nor would i even create a video on it unless it was executed in wrestling. There are numerous matches where this is used as a pinning combination to secure near fall points or a fall. Dont act as if i am the one using it in a match, its just a technique study. Talk to the D1 refs that allow it.
