    Of all of the sports athletes, I truly believe that wrestlers have the best overall functional strength. Lifting weights makes you look good and creates a certain kind of strength. But I have never met anyone as strong as people who have wrestled at high levels for a long time.

      I think forearms is the least catchable one... I think it's effective for bigger slower guys, someone as fast as you tho? There's a lot of slide that can happen there... maybe it's best to say that the elbows are the most "stall-y" and less options to counter your opponent... just a thought, I'm open to being proven wrong

    This scramble move helped me win my state quarterfinal. Up 5-4 with about 30 seconds and I got blast doubled. Kid runs it down and I hit this and came out the back door and won 7-4. Super effective and has bailed me out in a big match.

      I agree at the hs state level. But in grade school you got to be amazing these are 3- 6th grade wrestlers. Light or heavier weight will matter. But my great friend who was a 2x all American that coach would have been flat on his back looking at the lights with a thigh high powerful double. All you can do is try to sprawl get a front headlock go from their

    @ 5:53 A good wrestler know that you’re gonna be trying to roll in right there especially if he’s done freestyle what you need to do a swim that arm that’s on the leg up to the neck and then he gets.

    • @gabrielledesma9878
      @gabrielledesma9878 5 років тому

      Ty Hatfield idk how they would know that if he’s wrestled freestyle because a good freestyle wrestler would never expose their back like that. This is a folk style only type of scramble.

    I actually use this to reverse a position in bjj, when people pass torreando style, the ones who do it incorrectly always go to or just short of 90 degrees (ie: their body is perpendicular to the guard player), they think they've passed and they become lax and they don't let go the legs, get them on their backs easy

    • @chamboyette853

    I appreciate what he’s teaching these kids but these are more advanced moves if your 5-10 years old unless your a complete stud top 2/3 on the state (your age) guy does a double you get you hips back control his head maybe a arm sprawl get 2 points. I have a really good friend was an all American in college awesome double that coach tried that crap he would be lying flat on his back! My point is get the basics stuff down & perfected before you start teaching much more high level moves & I love the sport!
