Bro you live in Japan show some respect :D - the Casio frogman was the closest to a realistic market price and its a japanese pop culture legend loved internationally. They have also literally hung in the 500-1500usd range for the better half of the last decade.

FYI, for people looking for the name of the member's only store, it's called "fanbi". They have an online store (only in Japanese) too and the member's fee is 500 yen per year.

hi Austin, how come the 2 bluesies look different. they have the same ref numbers right. defn prefer the one on the left. the blue looks sooooo mesmerizing. the one on the right seems to have a purplish tint. that being said, the Daytona with the MOP dial around the 12:30 mark really made my heart skip a beat when it appeared in your video. one of these days I hope to own that and several(many) other sport models. may I ask while window shopping in jpn, did u spot any 16233 with mother of pearl and diamond dial? been looking for that. thanks Austin 😊♥
God those Rolex date justs are just flooded, they are in every shop window, well in ADs that's generally all they have and every jewellery shop that sells pre-owned has loads of them all at Significant loses/discounts over new! Rolex has really screwed itself because all people see is ugly date justs in AD windows and then the same watches in jewellers for significantly less! Really bad look! There is a batman in the window down the road from me non Ad grey market dealer it's been in there for like 3 months! Just shows it if was that desirable it would have shot out the window but nobody's interested at £11995 UK £!

Great Video Austin, I'm killing myself right now, I'm saving for 2 watches at the same time. A Date-Just for my Wife, I`ll be buying it at an AD. My plan is to bring enough extra cash so I can tell the AD that I like 2 different models for myself and see if they will bring out from the back, and buy it right there on the spot. I think that would be redemption for the average buyer. The watch I want isn't that popular I've said it before and I'm still sticking to my guns Air-King all the way.... I might change my mind.... I think its a good everyday watch.

At the discount store can Europeans still claim the 8% tax back on those products which are considerably cheaper than here in the UK.
Apparently, you have to be living in Japan to get in those stores. Sales tax is now 10%, by the way - it went up.

@8:06 the Turn-O-Graph with green seconds and date wheel...Nihon Gentei. Rumour has it Rolex basically gathered all the non selling TOGs (so many were languishing in shops around early/mid 2010s) and slapped on green seconds and date wheels, shiped them to Japan and marketed them as "Japan Only" models knowing the Japanese are suckers for that and would swoop them up...genius.

That's interesting stuff on green hand Japan mkt - the early 2000s T-O-G run out model eg fluted 36mms steel/bi colour, are after 10 yrs in the doldrums, now quite sought after in UK.... prices have risen in last 3 yrs about 35% - as you said they were unloved originally being 36mm and watch size fashion on the decline means they look great now....I have a 36mm 1953 6202 T-O-G too and they are now much sought after now - 10 yrs ago they were just £15k now £30k. There is a very savvy collector/investor in NYC I know that ONLY collects the 5 digit turnographs from late 70s to late 90s (he's been buying them at back-of-the-sofa money eg $2000-3000 over last ten years and he has over 500 of them) and correctly says their time will come shortly - Togs Rock !

@@watchsymposium it would be easier if that was written, we wouldn't have to go through the whole videos each time we want this information. If you want your followers to think "it is great, i have all informations", that is the thing to do. Otherwise it is quite frustrating.

Austin, Your diet, city air, and lifestyle are taking a toll on your health and well being. You are looking more and more like a grandpa with every new video mate. Take a break or go move out to the countryside. the fun days of the grey market watch reselling game is pretty much over anyways. Just look at it as a hobby. Maybe use your platform to complain about the difficulties of gaijin life as a foreigner in Japan compared to the life of white privilege being back in the West.
