She was doing her best to save him. Her instructions: assemble the clock in time or be punished. The 'faceless they' used the human emotions that she was developing to push her as far as she could to assemble that contraption in time, and even with a massive insentive, she failed.... Poor Colossus.

The song and video are based on an excerpt from the book by Yuval Noah Harrari. The one that tells about the Gilgamesh project - attempts to create a human brain in a computer. Fully aware of and behaves like a human being.
