I love it,cannot wait for the whole album it is gonna be epic..In the video the cyborg woman has to use 100% of her brain and 100% of her CPU to complete the puzzle. She fails to do the first time, she gets punished and refuses to try again. So she is given a treat (the tiny man). Risking her new friend's life makes her try to solve the puzzle for one more time.Although she puts all her effort she didn't manage to use 100% of her ability so her little friend dies in the end.Johannes said that the whole song was inspired by an article he read about scientists that tried to build a human brain inside a computer, nowadays people depend on technology and cannot live without it.
Gotta love the Swedish rock/metal scene. You have so many unique bands coming from that corner of the world like Ghost, Avatar, Meshuggah, Orbit Culture, Imminence etc. Looking back, I remember paying close attention to any new bands coming from there after listening to New Noise by Refused in the late 90s.
Super groovy song! avatar always making things interesting. Also try King diamond - sleepless nights live at the fillmore, they have a super unique style, killer riffs and a super theatrical show.
I think one criticism I have for this song is I wish there was more. It's almost too straight forward, I just want a bit more of their flair. That being said I also listened it on repeat while running errands so what do I know? I do appreciate a song with Johannes singing mostly clean. I hear a bit of old Manson in the verses and maybe a dash of King Diamond when the chorus starts to kick in, but that may be due to that whine in his voice as you mentioned.
So not gonna lie ive never really been able to get into Avatar but I really enjoyed this. It had a cool sorta 80's old school feel with newer mixing and tones obviously. Pleasantly surprised with this for sure! You should check out Bury The Rose by Johnny Booth!
@Daniel Azrael Sleep Token is so awesome indeed. Those two songs are the slightly heavier ones that are my favourites aswell. But I love the complete Sundowning album.

If I didn't see Avatar's Instagram post, I would've missed Corey Taylor's tiny part in this song on my first listen.

This is like a mix of Alice In Chains man in the box, marilyn mason, Iron Maiden, Rob Zombie in a fucking song. I like it!!!
