You absolutely have to patent your jointer design. Otherwise someone will tweek it and patent it themselves. When you get to the big manufacturing stage and find out how expensive it becomes then you might want to license the manufacture, promotion and sales to a national. You have to have a patent to make it worth their while. Hope it is a huge success for you, it would be well deserved!!

absolutely ,the Dyson guy lives on the other Island and my Dad had an Idea, Dyson said Do NOT tell me or show me, if its that a good idea, take pictures make a plan/sketch. detail what its made from any and everything that goes into making it ,Dysons original idea was the WORK BENCH ,then he went on to the vacuum's, he patented EVERYTHING and still others done a version of what he had patented, BUT here's the BUT ,because he had it patented, the LAWYERS had an easy job ,some he sued some became licensed , pat pending is the way ,last I looked around your way its 20K ish and that would e a world wide one . do it or loose it .

You don't need to be a genius to figure this out. Just go on any online superstore and you'll find hundreds of knockoffs of fairly unique products that don't have patents. Companies have absolutely no shame about copying a design, the 'bad' PR simply won't affect them.

Anything that is even close, will disqualify your patent.

Glad to see Tino being afforded the opportunity to step up to the plate.
I do believe that any opportunity that presents challenges with him will be more successful if they’re handled directly and with discretion.
He seems to be very aware of his deficiencies and I’m willing to bet they’re a result of circumstances that make him feel as if they’re out of his control. Be it the case or not. In either event, finding these and identifying them with discretion and helping him to understand that you’re not going to desert him but rather be there to help him through them, will garner the gold within.
So glad to see men working with and on one another. For myself these are the real stories to search out.” The stuff that works.”

I was fortunate enough to be able to work for a great man during a crucial time in my life.
I had the dreaded feeling of being laid low and I was somewhat downtrodden.
Mr. Louis Boyd was the medicine I needed. He would chew me out behind closed doors but build me up when I rose to the occasion.
Soon enough I found myself in over my head with tasks he set me up with.
He was a master at building up people.
One day he prayed over our lunch and said a prayer aloud for me. It changed who I am within forever.
I try and not hang my hat on what was done yesterday. His lesson he reminded me of often.
I hope to be able to be what he was for me to someone else somehow.
I believe this is what makes for a great world to live in.
We set aside our differences and exercise forgiveness and go to work building one another up and build great things in the process.
They don’t always work out perfect but the opportunity to try is admirable in and of itself.

YAY! Tino and the boss video! This was good. Annie too!
Good for Tino getting the bus schedule and making it to work that way. His work ethic and humor are enjoyable to see, and no clowning goin on.
Here’s hoping the next day ‘the guys’ (plural according to Ryan) turn out to be Tino, Ray, and the boss! 🤞 That would be perfect! 🙂❤️
PLEASE get a patent attorney. I’m concerned you’ll regret it if you don’t. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Get the patent. Makes selling ths idea to a dewalt or milwaukee at lot easier. plus it protects you from someone else suing you saying you are copying them which could happen if some one copies the design.
