- Join the concrete crew as we hit the road to work on a job in up north Wisconsin. I get asked a lot if we would travel to do a job and I am always hesitant. The start of this trip confirmed that I have made good decisions declining the offers. Enjoy!

That motel deserves a visit from the state inspector. The manager knew there is a fly problem but does nothing. That explains why there aren't more customers.

Not being racist or nothing, just a true fact. Take it or leave it. Most hotels are owned by immigrants, for several years than passed to the next family member. Don’t pay taxes. If license are pulled, next one takes over. It’s a revolving door. Traveled the east coast doing demo work and 90% was all days inn. Owned by the same families connect at some point. They would build a new one if the old one got so bad on the same property. Wait to close the old till new was open. While traveling we stayed in a lot of hotels that roaches would be afraid of but always had their “license” hanging up at the desk lol

Those are cluster flies. Not uncommon in north. You have to spray outside of the building openings with pyrethrin or similar.

The motel looking like it was closed due to no cars anywhere around (thus no guests) was the clue.
It was in the middle of no where ! Surprised there was a hotel at all in that part of the state !

Re-cap tires…once they throw the cap it will normally hold air for a while! The trouble occurs when the cap flops for a long time beating up wheel well and fender!! Good jobs guys!

And in his son’s new video Ray is using the dump truck and the kid notices a big chunk of rubber hanging off and was so nervous. He went to tell Ray and Ray said it’s ok your dad knows about it. Like it’s no big deal. Ray is the one driving these trucks so he better smarten up.

Driving on that tire was incredibly dangerous. I’ve personally been next to a truck tire when it blew and it dented the entire side of my ford transit work van, then got slung under the van and wrapped around the axle ripping all the brake lines apart. Driving on bad tires works till it doesn’t.

Yea I’m a former tire tech. We did on site repair/replacement. All he had to do was call a service truck. Waiting however long it took is better then losing you DOT licenses and hurting or killing someone. I also ride a bike and if even the smallest piece of tread would have hit any biker at those speeds well we can all guess how that would turn out. Ryan is an idiot for not calling a service truck. I mean he wasn’t that far from someplace that would have replaced it. Lost ALOT of respect for him after this video. No regard for property or life.
Yes I have severely damaged a car because of a truck tyre piece left on the road. Over $5000 in damage and that was nearly 30 years ago. I was cringing the whole time they thought it was a joke

As a commercial truck driver, I’ve never had a flat that wasn’t a retread, 1 service call to repair a tire pays for all the money you save buying a retread. I just never do it. And here it’s illegal to drive with a tire like that.

That tire deserves a raise and maybe a bonus for Ray, that had to be a stressful drive.

Rule #1 for road trips: always have tools to change a tire. And have a spare! Lol

I’m a trucker, on any commercial truck there’s never been a spare. That’s what the mobile tire repair companies are used for. The tires are too big and require a good size jack to lift in order to change them.

@thejoke2791 lol backseat? Every vehicle with the exception of semi's and some commercial vehicles have spares. It really wouldn't have been hard to have a spare wheel in the form truck...Also not hard to have an impact gun and a 2 ton jack...its literally 2 extra items lol
Why would you said you don't care about him . Let me mind you he's driving your truck he's the one taking a risk with his life. Why don't you trade places with him it's your truck... We're talking about tires here, it can go either way Just be thankful that he got your truck there safe. I do agree Ray needs a raise he does a lot for you. I can’t believe what I just witnessed. You drove 85 miles on an illegal tire! Way to go Ryan. What a great example to show the public on how you just keep going with an unsafe vehicle. You not only should b er ashamed of your willingness to endanger the public but also your employee. Im sure a tire shop has a mobile truck 28:15 that could have brought you a tire when Ray noticed it.

If Ryan wants the truck driven in that condition he should be the one to drive it. Lapse in either judgement or character in my opinion. Ryan is usually such a good boss, but this had me cringing
First time I'm questioning Ryan's judgement with regards to that tyre. Should have had it changed by mobile tyre guy. The bits of rubber could have hit that guy on a motorbike. Could have blew up and ray loose control etc etc
On tandem axles a lot of times the tire that blows takes out the other tire. Then you can lose control of the vehicle bad deal on the expressway

I'm sorry Ryan, as a truck driver in the Milwaukee area that was super irresponsible. It wouldn't have been you signing the ticket it would have been Ray. Glad it worked out though. But proper pre trip inspections of your vehicles can help avoid this problem.

I like the video on how you guys are going up north to do a job for a friend which grows your company. The only part that I did not like is that you made. Ray dry the form truck with a tire that was obviously unsafe. If it were me I would have called a TA truck stop nearby and had them come out and replace the tire. Ray really needs a raise

Im pretty sure Bugs is salary and gets paid through the winter even when hes at home in winter. Ryan said it in a video from last yr.

PreTrip every 30-60 miles on anything that is used to 0-20 miles only a day! Just a quick 5 minuye look over, could save you hours of sitting on side of road!

I've never seen Ryan or any of his crew do a pre-trip on any of the vehicles. Not even the quad axle dump with air brakes. With all the unsecured loads and unsafe equipment I've seen over the years, I'm definitely surprised you haven't had any major accidents yet. Never checked tires or air pressure or anything.😢
I'm willing to bet that low inflation pressure was the primary contributing factor to that tyre recap failure. You can get away with it around town for short trips, but sustained driving at speed overheats an under inflated tyre due to the physical deflection on the sidewalls being converted to heat.
I agree. I think it's the short distance they typically work in. DOT doesn't seem to be a big thing in their area or something.

That hotel was a complete DUMP. There is no valid reason as to why there are flys in every room. It’s disgusting. Imagine what you couldn’t see. And the guys response was terrible.
I was thinking that the entire time. The lack of care to not do anything about the flies says something about the place as a whole. I would genuinely rather stay in Frank's garage with a sleeping bag from Walmart.

@@thejoke2791The word is 'intact'. And it's more than just a visual once over - IMO low tyre pressure is undoubtedly what caused this. 3 hours of that at speed and the tyre carcass will be very hot and begin to suffer damage.

Was on my motorcycle once, a trucker was driving with a blown tire, and i could feel every wire hit me as i was trying to pass. Not safe at all. I wouldve bought a fly sticky trap. Idk why theyre scared of flies 🤣😂
I thought I would come and comment about the safety of driving on that tire, but plenty of others have done so for me. For anyone curious, within 12 miles of where Ray parked the truck I Can find atleast 6 tire service places. They were right on the outskirts of a reasonable sized town

It's crazy ❤, I to am a trademan, I do high rise waterproofing, but love all your concrete videos ( all of them) but concrete the most... keep them coming, i never miss a video
My crew and I too are working a state over in territory we don't go to often. Been stressing for a week now lol. Picking up the last truck from the shop getting a check up and we're leaving on Thursday.

Ray should of stepped up and said I’m not driving that truck with a bad tire . It’s his CDL. You have a an obligation to make sure the vehicle is in safe working condition. If that tire would of blown and hit a motorcycle or went through a windshield, 100% it’s on him. Bad decision on both sides.

NOTHING HAPPENED! They made it safely and no one was injured!! Can we just be thankful for that! I mean we can talk about the what ifs all day long, but they drove at a slower speed, stopped every 10 minutes to check and again NOTHING HAPPENED! Relax!!!

A quick hotel search for that area shows a ton of better hotels. Not sure if it was a joke on the guys or for content but that place is a health hazzard.

for someone that makes so much money its astonishing how badly you maintain your fleet vehicles and the condition you leave them in. Tires are a bare minimum, there is no reason you should have one of your trucks with tires in that bad of condition. thats just sad
I work at a tire shop and just saying that could be potentially dangerous, especially on a heavy truck carrying a heavy load
I know he cares about his guys safety, but this just seemed like a lapse of judgment in a moment of desperation. He was playing a dangerous game with Ray as a guinea pig. I have to say it was definitely entertaining to watch though.

I worked on the railroad for 10 years we stayed in places 10 times worse then that main thing is bring your own bedding leave your luggage in your vehicle.

I've stayed in a lot of flea bag motels. I'll even stayed in some that the beds weren't level. I've never stayed in one that had a fly problem like that. Can't wait for the next video

Why continue to risk the safety of Ray and the safety of the expensive truck and equipment? Should have called commercial roadside and have them swap out the tire at the first stop point - semis do it every single day on the shoulder... bad judgement on this one.

@@iScoPZzz All the more reason to do one before embarking on a long journey. Especially tyre pressures and condition. Sustained high speed with low pressure is really bad for tyres.
Shoulda called good year or a pilot or Flying J or any truck stop for a roadside mobile tire replacement.
