what she said about not wanting her baby to be living on the streets and saying it wasn’t an option for her was literally just her not wanting her child to be homeless, it’s not ‘privileged thinking’ it’s just her wanting her child to have a home to grow up in. it’s also very sad we have to explain that.

Brandon, I’m aware she’s able to walk away herself being a grown adult but she’s clearly very vulnerable as she needs a roof over her head and will be hesitant in leaving, naturally anyone would if it was a choice between the streets and a caravan that provides a roof over your head. He would only use that against her within time, no doubt as he’s a creep. He takes advantage of vulnerable young women for a reason and offering a roof over your head while your other option is the streets and you are pregnant, I’m sure he could sure as hell manipulate that situation. It’s a lot easier said than done to leave especially, if the situation on the other hand is a lot worse off

So I tried looking up an update on Ileana. Apparently, she had her child but the trailer she was living in was getting too cold for them during the winter months. A distant relative of Danny's started getting concerned by the living conditions (and Danny's creepy nature) and took her in instead in another part of Ohio. Last anyone has heard from her, she now lives in Portugal away from them. I hope she's doing okay now.

This mindset is absolutely toxic. I’m legally blind, and I’m telling you, the “you need me” guys are the scariest. They think I need them because of my disability and will get really aggressive. I’ve been stalked, harassed, touched inappropriately, even had a guy try to abduct me about two years ago. Thankfully one of my neighbors stepped in before he could get me in his apartment. It doesn’t happen when I can pass as normal-sighted, but I can’t do that all the time or even most of the time. Honestly, any time a guy talks about me needing a guy/someone to take care of me/etc., I nope all the way out of there immediately. (Sorry off there are typos.)

I kind of hope that Ileana is just using him to get to America or to get money for her baby or whatever, and that he hasn't manipulated her or that she isn't serious with him. Also, he hasn't really thought this through. If he does genuinely, legally adopt her as his daughter, and then does something with her, it becomes a crime. Hopefully his stupidity gets him in legal trouble.
Sorry but unless he rapes her it's not a crime if the hook up. She is of legal age, therefore it's not a crime.

I’m a therapist and specialized in family violence and abuse. After decades in this role, I can spot this “face” abusers make toward their victims that means, “You will do as I say, or else.” And this creep flashed that face to his wife more times than I can count. He’s disgusting and manipulative.

As a grooming survivor, this kind of thing absolutely happens. He didn't want to just cheat on his wife, he wants to cheat on his wife with someone who doesn't have the option to say no. By adopting Ileana, he's creating a dependency, and she'll be trapped by her reliance on him as a parent. Predators gamble on the victim staying and tolerating the abuse because they have no other readily available choice.

I dated a woman with a young daughter who I came to love as my own. Happened very quickly, as she was a toddler when we met and they are so precious at that age. I would’ve adopted her happily and I still miss her. I worried about a lot of things, like would I be a good enough father, what if something happened to her and I wasn’t around to protect her, all kinds of things. I never EVER worried that I might develop romantic or sexual feelings for her at any point in her life. If I ever thought there was ANY chance I might be a danger to touch her or hurt her I would delete MYSELF. This situation is revolting. I’m not very prudish or sensitive and some things people consider creepy I can shrug at as fairly harmless. But this is beyond the pale. This man needs to be removed.

When someone else's daughter becomes a young woman, you might find her attractive, even if you raised her. At that point, it's just a matter of self-control. IF you feel you can't control yourself, you leave. You don't kill yourself.

What many don't know is for people in this situation, calling the police is your best bet. People fear deportation and stuff, but there's actually allot of help for victims of this type of situation.

She is going to be devastated when he comes onto her, and very uncomfortable. That ish traumatizes you. especially when you 12-13 YO. I have issues form creepy old men hitting on me from age 11 and up. I am 36 now. They still do it, but of course it was much harder to deal with when I was younger. Being a kid that didn't grow up with a dad, just to have a step dad that u loved and trusted in, sexually harass you, really messes u up. I interpreted Ileana's statement as it wasn't an option to put her newborn through living on the street, and she'd do anything to protect it from that. I think she knows creep man's intentions, but she was willing to deal with it to give her baby a chance at a loving home that she never had. Such an awful situation for her.
The streets would be more loving than an abusing psychopath, also she's from Austria, she should just contact a help system there, because there is a really good system for single mothers there..

Phoenix angel I live in Austria and have friends working for Caritas and the AMS. Austria's has one of the best social systems and everyone knows about it here, it's as common knowledge as the name of supermarkets, whatever the social and cultural background. She probably wants to be in the USA in my opinion. I hope she's stronger than this guy/future dad and will manage to keep him on check.

As an Austrian I think she should have stayed in Austria. Of course being homeless (especially with a newborn) must be hell, but we have a really good support system, especially for mothers with young children. Also nearly everything is better than this guy.
And if this falls through, she could be stuck in America that basically doesn't care for homeless mothers. They'd take her baby and dump her.

I had to pause this for a long time and come back, three times. Yes but trauma can emotionally stunt you. You can technically be 20 but be mentally a lot younger. I was more like 16 when I was 18 because of trauma and life experiences. Also she may be very lonely after losing her dad and anyone who's lonley at any age is more likely to he taken advantage of and they may not make the best decisions.

I too can see reasons to "adopt" a young adult who's lost their families and support system. I come from an open hearted family, where if you walk through our doors you are being incorporated. I’m a travel nurse and did my first assignment in Chillicothe, Ohio. While at the hospital, I learned from staff there that the hotel I was staying at was one of the locations where 11 young women had been found bludgeoned, stabbed, raped, drowned, and even hanging from a fence between 2013-2015. They still haven’t found the killer. Unrelated, but I was also stalked by the male night desk attendant during my brief stay there. I later learned that he would look up my stays and make his schedule around it. I left my assignment quickly and will never consider returning to that city.
I was adopted by my best friends parents as an adult and honestly I would feel so betrayed if that was my Dad's motives behind adoption I feel so bad for her :(

I've worked on some of these shows in the past and I can tell you, I was amazed at how talented the producers were at finding these situations, but the producers do play both sides and control the situation to make sure it's conflicting... I am so surprised they don't get sued more but their contracts are tempting and iron clad... Austria is not a bad country to live.

As a former, CPS child, the background checks to be eligible for adopting or even fostering is very extensive. It can take years you have to take classes they have to do homes studies you have to be mentally and emotionally prepared as a parent to take on that role so there is no way that he would possibly ever be accepted as a foster parent or an adoptee

I disagree with your take on "it's not an option". Countries like Austria and other places in central/north/west Europe have absolutely fantastic social nets for families to a point where a family simply _cannot_ become homeless - The state does not allow it. Your options in Austria if you have a child and risk going homeless amounts to you walking into any social work or social housing building, explaining your situation, and immediately you will be placed on a priority list for a free state-paid home and, while you're waiting, they'll pay for your expenses at a local hotel, motel or b&b. The guy is a creep, definitely, but I don't think she's a saint here. She isn't looking to "get by" because at home, she'd absolutely get by, she's looking to live a rather wealthy life without much effort... hence why she was on an adult adoption page in the first place (her own admission).

The adoption fell through, Ileana is no longer living with the couple and has moved out. The husband apparently has a fan page on FB with like 7 followers. Haven't been able to find anyone who personally knows the couple yet, but I'm just glad Ileana and her child are gone because the husband is a creep.

I watched this and was so angry with everyone, the wife clearly has low self-esteem and little respect and love for herself. Sadly, I feel she is willing to sacrifice Ileana essentially so that she can keep her husband happy. He is going to emotionally abuse and manipulate Ileana, who is in such a vulnerable place.
I don't think you should be blaming the wife for his actions. Also, u don't know what she will do when the situation goes that direction. She is as much of a victim as Ileana. Being coerced, manipulated, preyed upon, gaslighted, the list goes on. She clearly doesn't want this, and she clearly is too messed up to leave him. what is happening right here is that she is holding out hope, and trying to believe his words.

If she wasn't okay with bringing Ileana into their home,she should leave it. Her husband cheating is not her fault,or his attraction to younger women. Being in a relationship where you allow yourself to be disrespected and not listen to the others that love you and want to help you is your choice. She is hanging on to her husband's words because she loves him and he loves himself. She doesn't want a child and only agreed to Ileana being in their lives for her husband.
@@santefeaster460 it's not mental issues it's a false hope of security. If something gives you a false sense of security, it makes you believe that you are safe when you are not. It's also a sense of false hope. confident feelings about something that might not be true. She wants to believe his words and has hope his actions will change for the better when it's far from reality. When someone like him is inexorable it's hard to change but with the right mind set like hers you give your self some hope to latch onto. Something that gives you confidence to keep moving forward in hopes for the out come to play out differently. Descent of reality can screw up your perception of what's actually happening. It's not mental issues but a psychological thing.

It’s not easy for his wife - she isn’t crazy, she’s trying to make the relationship work because she loves him doesn’t know any other way. She may even feel stuck or like she has no choice but to stay with him for some reason. She’s being manipulated. I can see the pain in her face because she knows he’s going to cheat again but she doesn’t know what to do. I feel horrible for her.

Yeah, idk if he abused his wife or what, I could definitely see that. Actually, scratch that, he’s definitely at minimum emotionally and psychologically if not also physically abused the crap out of his wife that’s contributing to her staying with him. But somethings up. She said the $5600 she spent on this camper was the best money she’s spent, so she has a job, she has resources and income of her own, they have no children and idk if they have a sexual relationship given his actual physical infidelity (aside from the emotional infidelity he continually appears to engage in without regard to his wife’s feelings or respect), it doesn’t seem to me she has much of a reason to stay. Sure she loves him, but love I’m learning, isn’t enough. He doesn’t respect her in any aspect, I don’t see how he loves her, maybe I missed that part, he doesn’t care for her and appears to never have in a significant way. But this guy is disgusting. This is honestly the most vile and disturbing thing I’ve seen that isn’t heinous unnecessary murder, or SA. It’s definitely easy to judge from the outside looking in but one things for sure, somethings way off here all around.

I agree, I think the wife was more concerned with Ileanas general safety and wasn't sure how to address her. She was reacting in a very cat mom way. The husband definitely acted like they were going to pick up a package or something, no big deal.

Also people who have pets or "fur babies" as the wife mentioned earlier in the show regularly use the "my human" phrase. It's a term of endearment for some.
