My mom and dad thought that I was a really good match for a kid with a really sick rat tail when I was 10. I mean not a marriage match, just like a "that years school dance" match but you know. They were trying to find me a match and I said ",nooo I don't want a date". And they said "ok that's fine" (But you know, I'm completely on your side, I'm just kind of pointing out what should be the only kind of normal version of even thinking about a guy for your 10 year old. And "I don't want to think about boys" should be ok too)

The human brain isn't finished developing until approx age 25, that's when the adult maturing bits (such as thinking about consequences and emotions such as love) are process-able. Many teens think they're in love, but they aren't, it's either physical appearance or lust, they're not the same as actual love.
Unfortunately it would seem many adult men like brain-dead young women that can't think for themselves, which may be why one particular actor won't date women over 25. He claims it's due to them "wanting babies and marriage" at 30, but 21-24 is a woman's sexual peak,so if she's going to get pregnant, it's most likely during those early 20s.

@@pandakicker1There's nothing wrong with being a traditional wife or wanting to be a traditional wife. The issue comes from when there are children involved or someone is being forced into the position. If you're an adult (which I know you said you are), then I'm sorry if people have made you feel bad for wanting to be a traditional wife. But a lot of people see it as from a time when divorce was heavily discouraged and women were MADE to be traditional. But now things are different, and there are choices involved.

I'm doing everything in my power my kids have a good and happy childhood! Why should I repeat my parents errors, when I know how miserable and unhappy I was? There's no excuse "oh he/she was abused, so it's understandable why his kids are also abused"! It makes no sense! So it's just a vicious circle! I dont think the mom was made to do anything. She married an outsider. When HE was cleaning the couch, that spoke volumes. I think she was trying to pawn off her daughter to try to get her family back. She resents him not making a lot of money, hence the snide remark about the men working. She may also resent not carrying on the tradition herself because she has no contact with her family. But her husband didnt make her have babies and clean. He seems like he would have supported any aspirations she may have just like he does with his daughter.

@@androgynousmaggot9389 I think maybe because they’re don’t know how to change, it can be very hard to change for some people and when having kids can be stressful they might default to what they know, abuse, when overwhelmed. Plus sometimes people who are abused get in bad/abusive situations because that’s all they know. They just feel trapped and hopeless. Well that’s what I think from my personal experience, and I’m happy you’re changing and being better but for some it can be very difficult to do so.
My mom was horribly abused by her family (mother, siblings, cousins, uncles) and suffer all types of trauma, but vow to never be like her family when she had me and my brother. Unfortunately she had depression and was in a bad place with my dad (who was very neglectful and emotional abusive and very controlling) while she never beat us (as the thought of hitting us makes her cry and be reminded of her mother) but she did emotional abuse us by often locking us up in our rooms and pretending to abandon us when she got overwhelmed and angry or often compare our childhood to her (trauma dumping). My mom also emotionally cold due to her depression and my dad, she didn’t know how to be affectionate as no one showed it to her in a good way, she never read us books, never played with us, but made sure we’re safe and well taken care of, just not affectionate. My mom didn’t know her punishment was abusive in nature as she didn’t want to hit us but didn’t know what else to do as she was overwhelmed and often cry. She got better over the years and when I was 6 she and my dad got better and had my other siblings and became more affectionate mother with all of us. While still having some depressive episodes she’s way better and after a deep talk she realized her ways was not the best, she was better than her mom but she still became emotional abusive but in a different way, she deeply apologized while she knows there no excuse she said she didn’t know any healthy ways to handled her feelings and trauma. But she knows she can’t turn back time and deeply regretful for her actions and since then try to be more understanding and careful (even if she stopped being emotional abusive when my younger siblings were born).
Despite that she’s a good mom and always supportive of me and my siblings, we trust our mom for help. It just she had some issues and flaws from her abuse, but she actually made steps to be better even if took awhile.

I appreciate that Ken didn’t hold back. I’m so tired of people that try to hide behind “culture” or religion to try to excuse toxic or evil behaviors.
Obviously this isn’t a good depiction of “gypsies” in Europe, but even if it was it wouldn’t change whether or not you’re allowed to call this behavior out. If your culture defends trying to force children to marry older men and have babies before they’re even done going through puberty then your culture is gross and wrong and I’m not gonna apologize for stating the truth.

We have a big problem with them intimidating people and lowering house prices so as to buy up towns, yet not paying tax bc they're "travellers" and their "culture" says they shouldn't need to.

Here in Ireland our "gypsies" are called Travellers and are the exact same. They even marry their cousins to keep their gene pool "intact". It's very rare that they complete their education. They usually drop out at 13 or 14, next thing you see they're pushing a pram around the neighbourhood. They're often rowdy and get kicked out of shops a lot for shoplifting. I remember one time I was walking into my local shopping centre and they were getting kicked out by security. One of them wasn't looking where she was going and walked into me. Instead of apologising she called me a "fugly c*nt". What beautiful eloquent language😊

This is an unfortunate part of trauma especially generational trauma. In abusive families you are often raised that your purpose is to fulfill the needs of your parents and so you spend your whole life chasing after their approval to the point where even when you become a parent you sacrifice your child to earn your parents love. It's a huge part of why breaking the cycle is so important. Cuz when you're raised by abusers who center themselves, you don't even realize how much your life is revolved entirely around them. And often these victims don't realize they're then sacrificing their children and thus becoming the abusers of their own children in the attempt to gain the love and approval of their abusers
