What a wonderful idea! Actually, I'm surprised you don't have solo hotpot restaurants in Tokyo. With so many singles, it would seem like a perfect fit. There are no hotpot restaurants near me so I make my own vegetarian version with a kombu and mushroom broth. Yum! Thanks for taking us to Jianghu Hotpot with you, Shinichi. 👍
I wish we had a solo hot pot restaurant chain here in the US! (Heck, I wish there were options for Asian food in general, where I live. But there is a truly terrible "Chinese" buffet (do not eat there if you do not want a trip to hospital), there are two very expensive sushi restaurants that I have not been able to afford to try, and a ramen restaurant... that tries. It's not the best ramen I've ever had, but I'll grant that it's the best (only) ramen here in town. My aunt is from Singapore and she would agree with you about the heat and humidity. When she moved to the US to marry my uncle, she was always cold. We would buy her knitted silk long underwear every year to help keep her warmer. It took well over a dozen years before she got somewhat used to the cooler temperatures here. And she still hates the winters here. The first time she tried to cook for us, she made the food as unspicy as she could. She could barely taste the food, we could barely eat it because it was still so spicy. I handle the most spice out of my immediate family, and I still had a lot of trouble. But I love my aunt, so we have worked on foods that we can all eat. :)
Singapore is food heaven. Laksa, fish head curry, chili crab, spicy stingray.... Such good memories. I hope you enjoyed. Keep up the good work. Your videos make me hungry and are great comfort when I miss Asia.
oh, that looks amazing. I love hotpot, but my mobility is limited, so I always have to get someone to come along with me to carry the trays of ingredients and I feel bad about it. Like this it could be as convenient as mawari-zushi!
I love hot pot. We dont have a conveyor hot pot here but I always ask for lettuce on the side so I can wrap the meats in it. Next time I'm bringing rice paper. 😀 Can't wait to see where your next food adventure takes you!
The paper on the grill is probably silicon coated baking paper for making cakes and cookies and it's great for the grill to. And we don't have anything like that in Canada and l' m hungry after seeing it.
Ok, this episode is making me hungry. My favorite is the garlic shrimp. I like to make Japanese curry. That might make a good video or Chinese dumplings would be good as well.
Looked like fun. We have a conveyor belt sushi place here. Interesting you go into a mall to escape the heat and choose to sit over a hotpot and hot grill. Ha, ha!
I know about heat! Try living in Orlando FL lol - our Hot pots cost a little more if you want BBQ but around sand price! Next weekend I’m headed to Tampa and of course Hot Pot is on our list! Herbal base is my go to
Superb idea. A hot [pot lover's paradise. I wonder if it is possible to order a milder soup base, like chicken or even veg? As a woman traveler I am forever searching for milder and lighter food options.
Looked like a fun experience. But after seeing that idiot on some video, licking the conveyor belt items and putting them back. I think it was in Japan. I don't think I could try that type of restaurant now. Lol
@almond_jellii Ya, my imagination has quite the power over me. If I thought for a second, somebody may have licked it. I would just gag and not be able to eat. Lol
Half of that pot is not spicy. I guess you can also choose other soup to replace the spicy part. In Taiwan you may make it cheaper by doing so since Mala soup is a little bit more expensive.

It’s something I’m looking for right now. They do have solo shabushabu in Osaka though

Ahhh jianghu isn't too bad. I go there sometimes. Solo hotpot is fun~
👀Always a delicious experience watching your food adventures across Japan!!🤙⚡️
Excellent idea for a restaurant. Looked so good.

That was really fun! I always want to visit all of the places you show in your videos!! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you!
This adventure you shared with us is in my top 5 of your videos. Wish you could have taken one of us with you.
Thank you
Looks fun. We don’t have much hotpot here.
I love hot pot. We dont have a conveyor hot pot here but I always ask for lettuce on the side so I can wrap the meats in it. Next time I'm bringing rice paper. 😀 Can't wait to see where your next food adventure takes you!
This looks perfect.
Cooked onions are perfectly fine. I like them raw, cooked, grilled, fried... You name it 😋

I'm going to have this craving for days aren't I lol

Conveyor belt hotpot! I like the idea and convenience. Did they have a sauces bar or were those ingredients available on the belt too?
0:19 It's the suction tube people mover from Futurama.
I don't know why, but every time I saw the "cook cook cook" in the captions, I heard Satoshi's voice saying instead of yours.🤣
Haha. It’s actually Satoshi filming this one. I was sick on this particular day
👍😊

Is that paper supposed to be on the griddle when you’re cooking the meat? That seems crazy.
I think they put it there to prevent burning. They come and change it now and then
Such a relaxing video. I would love a video that included some seasonal ice creams. Can you tell what I am craving? Thanks…
Haha yes!
you ahould try Jollibee there in Singapore...try to do a mukbang
What was that paper kinda thing in the grill !?🤔
I guess that’s as there to prevent the ingredients from burning.
vegan food please
Please Indian fish head curry next time you’re in Singapore.

I think that's why they have the lids on all the plates now. It only takes one moron to ruin it for everybody.
Don't let a bad egg on the internet ruin an experience for you. There's a rule not to put things back on the conveyor belt in general.
@almond_jellii Ya, my imagination has quite the power over me. If I thought for a second, somebody may have licked it. I would just gag and not be able to eat. Lol
Sadly spicy food is bad for me.

Not a fan of spicy hotpot. In needs lot of beer to include with hotpot.
