I purchased this timepiece in june its a stunning solid handsome diver😮 imo wana the best dive releases of the year it also has a premium feel to it aswell well worth it thumbs up to seiko 😊
I love you vids as you are completely honest about watches shortcomings and provide very insightful reviews. I’m also a huge fan of Sinn! I’ve been binge watching your videos… keep up the great work!
I recently got the black dial version, SPB453. Simple, handsome design, very comfortable to wear, and quite accurate at -3.5 seconds per day. I love it.
I've had the SPB147 for a few years now, and wear it on the OEM Seiko bracelet. I absolutely love it! Lately I've been contemplating upgrading to this SPB455, but I'm skeptical I can love another watch more than the 147.
I had the SPB147 for couple years and sold it. I also wore it on the OEM steel bracelet, but somehow the colours on the bezel and the dial didn't match that well, as it is in this new release. Probably I will get one on the black Friday deals :D
SLA079 and SLA077 1968 marine master divers incoming shortly. 300m and 8L35. One is black and the other white. Possibly not monoblock though as apparently they are coming in the slimmer SLA057 case
I recently tried on the 451 blue dial/bezel variant and I’m sold . Definitely a beautiful, solid yet perfect size and what seems like a comfortable wearing watch . My only concern would be the clasp with only two micro adjustments??? That seems a little odd for a Seiko diver watch.
I looked at this today and it could be my daily just to give my sla017 a rest . It is a nice size , feels comfortable on my wrist and could be my first seiko with the 6r movement. My only gripe would be that at this price point i would have liked the crown to be signed. Thank you for sharing this video. Liked and subscribed.
Cheers Sir as it all helps 👍🏻. Many people don't like the X on the crown as all the old school models didn't have and I've found many fans don't like change :)
The more I looked at it the more I liked it. I could live with that one very easily. I think the NATO strap suited it well and would be my choice. I even like the small date window, I think that's the way date windows should be integrated on a dial. Great watch and super review.
What a tidy little thing! V nice. Not sure if the 6R55 is such a big improvement as you say but the case shape seems to hug the wrist beautifully. I’m guessing it’s a comfortable watch!
I am thinking of buying sla055 ( a shop where I live has one and they are willing to negotiate on the price - it’s now £2500-3000) but I do agree this looks very good. I think the problem is going to be the same problem We all know. I have an alpinist with the 6R35 we all know the issues. it’s a shame because I love the watches and I’m convinced they could regulate the movements to a really good standard.
It would be interesting to see if there are any other substantial updates from the old 6R35 movement aside from a couple of hours on the power reserve. It seems like the SPB143 would have been a home run had it not been for the widespread reports of poor accuracy, wild positional variance, etc, in the 6R35. (I know referring to it as a potential "home run" is a very American cultural reference... curious what the English equivalent would be!) It's comforting to see the one you had regulated pretty well. That's a sign that things could be improving for the better. I wish Seiko would commit to a tighter variance because there is so much fear/uncertainty/doubt circulating where it feels like a lottery where you could win- or lose- big. One of the speculative narratives circulating is that Seiko was aware of some QC flaw at scale in the 6R35 movement and this new movement is their way of quietly addressing it and phasing out the old 6R35. It would be interesting if someone with a watchmaking background had a chance to investigate. It would go a long way in reestablishing confidence in the brand.
Sorry for not getting back to you for so long , it's getting harder to keep up with all the reply's. I'm pretty sure the new movement is only so they can say 3 days on the dial as it sounds better than 70 hours , I'm guessing they may have increased the length of the spring or thinned the wall of the barrel to get the extra 2 hours. As for a Home Run we use it to even though we don't play base ball but we do have rounders in are which is similar I believe to softball for young kids. Only time will tell if they have improved there accuracy but fingers crossed
I would like to say this is a very good looking Seiko watch. The price is a little bit high. But this is a very good Tudor BB58 alternative if your budget is only USD 1000+.
Even the older 200m model SPB147 was over 13mm , maybe check out the Obris Morgan sea star 60 thats a 200m and under 12mm and very affordable or find a used Sinn EZM3 500m and 12mm
Handsome handsome watch... subtle changes to size go a long way... secret measurement 29mm glass is amazing, wears so well... How come you got a big ol nick between 9 and 10 on bezel?
Exactly so they have you covered Jon Seiko is the make more models than any other brand in fact they make more limited edition models than brands have in there line up
They have so many different design to choose from, when you make that many models there are always going to be ones which look similar to each other, You already said you have a Tuna's and Monster will there is also the Turtle and MM300 and so on . If you just focus on there 1965 range of watches yes they look similar , look at the brand as a hole Jon
The crown sinks into the body of the case so as I say in the video they act as a crown guard but again which I say in the video it sticks out so what 👍🏻
Years ago I only bought watches with crown guards, and screw down crowns. Now, I prefer no crown guards. But I still like screw down crowns over push/pull; it just makes everything feel more solid. 💪
@@ClickSpringReview uncle Seiko will have a bracelet for this in no time ..The jubilee for my 143 brought the watch up another few notches no question

Replace a color rubber strap is a very good idea. Not much money.
