The greatest part of the one-on-one story Chris told is that he really believes it was the shoes. At that age, I too would have felt that way. Don’t let go of that memory man…it’s real if you believe it’s real!😁👍
This is the shoe and colorway that got me into sneakers back in 99. Just looking at them brings back memories. If they ever release the low tops I will probably buy more than 2 pairs.
Once you wear the shoes enough, the Jumpman on the original insoles would rub off so at that point, there'd only be 7 Jumpmen on each shoe, it all evens out in the end. Love your videos and yalls qiuping back and forth! It'd also be cool to get a run-down on the different ways you lace your shoes as I've seen them laced in different ways depending on the shoe in the videos.
Love the 14 but hate the low top. These are super dope in mid form

I have the 2015 Laney's and I beat them to death. So I wouldn't mind a new pair in mid top form. Love this shoe.
And here I was thinking "didn't the Laney 14's release only a couple of years ago, why are they re-releasing it?". 2015, how time flies.

The shoe is beautiful who was responsible for the design. Highly slept on better laney low and the red ones. Tied with black toe and playoffs
I'm partial to 14's because it was the last pair of Jordans I owned as a kid before I quit playing basketball. I had the Oxidized Green ones. I'd love to see those retro again.
Love hearing your point of view and fun facts Chris, your stories bring back the nostalgia man. I was 15 in ‘99 and remember all the hype around a fresh pair of Jordan’s. There’s was always that kid that got all the fresh pairs, Jordans, Jason kidd’s, Fila Stackhouse…
I owned a pair of the low tops 14 Carolina blues in 99, and then again when they rereleased them in 05. I still own that pair
This Air Jordan looks completely different from previous Jordans but looks great.. and the way you describe everything about the product is amazing
I wanted these bad when they first dropped and I was in the fifth grade but I never was getting the real Jordan’s always the team Jordan. Hoping I can get a pair
14s are underrated. I hated them when they came out. After the 13s, they were a big let down. But they grew on me and look great on feet imo.
Chris' stories man you could just literally picture it in your mind. I love it! I did not wear Air Jordan's up until some of the guys i hooped with back in the day would commend me that "Hey you're good bro.!" People would be so mean if you wear Jays and your game sucked. Man that will haunt you. So i just hooped in my Air Delta Force 2 or Cons ERX 400. I had the Jordan Cement 4's but never hooped in them, up until i knew i was good enough hahahaha. But the IV, V, VI, XIII, killed my feet, maybe because i have wide feet, the VII, Jumpman Pros yes were nice.
These are so clean!! Oddly enough, I’ve always preferred the mids over the lows on the 14s. These and the gingers look great as mids. ❤
I like that they made the lows highs. They look so much better as highs in my opinion. Never a Jordan low guy.

14's have always been in my top 3 of favorite Air Jordans, along with the 3 and the 12. The Laneys do look nice as a mid, but the low was a thing of beauty. Oh well, maybe someday Nike will bring em in their original form. I guess that I'll just have to be content with my Clot 14 lows, for now. Dope video, as always from Weartesters!
I remember it like yesterday it was fall of 1999 and it was my first day in jr high and I had Laney 14s. I did everything in them. Classic sneaker! Eastbay magazine was my only sneaker source outside of watching NBA players kicks on tv. I remember squinting to see what model and color mj was wearing in games and hoping to see his kicks during a slow motion replay.

You're right, the oxidized tab was just a straight plastic piece. There was no fabric that was overlaying it...👍
That story that you told about when your friend let you borrow his shoes. It's definitely going to bring your confidence level up. I notice a difference when I wear clothes that I like to "show off" it's the confidence. And it was a truly humbling experience to know that someone was willing to let you hoop in them, knowing how much passion you had for the game.

i remember my lil cousin had these when i visited America in 2016...i like the roundness of the toe area...and the black n blue n yellow...COLD....i didnt use to like them because of the tounge....but I'll still give it a pass

I had the original black toe that I played my senior year in high school. I remember the bar on the top of the tongue digging into my ankles because it was so stiff! Loved the shoes though they were my favorite pair of Jordans to play ball in. Thanks for the reviews. Love the channel.

I really dig these a lot. Always liked the colorway, it’s such a big departure from other colorways, so was the black indiglo colorway. Just really different. The tech in the shoe was so neat, hopefully can pick these up in store or maybe for a discount

Had the original lows of these in 99. Wore them out. Played in them, ran in them, everything. Always wanted to see a high top version. Going to try and get these but sure I'll take a big old L on them Saturday.

I got exclusive access for these at Finishline/JD Sports. These were my favorites back in 2015. Wore them so much the toe clamps on the sides wore away. The Laney 14 is easily one of my favorite Jordan retros to release this year!
Hoping this is a sign that AJ 14 Ferraris are going to make a comeback!

I would definitely prefer lows but I’m happy to see them release 14’s however we can get them. I bought the gingers and like them a lot after breaking them in. Great video, and thank you

I remember when I I had the UNC back in the day that those side panels on the front got loose. The glue was terrible. And I wasn't the only one with that problem. Played great though 😂

Fond memories playing in my “last shot” AJ14 back in high school days when they originally released. Definitely one of my favourite AJs. I will try to cop and play in these actually! I prefer the AJ14 in mid than low.
