      Thirty years ago, Niki Lauda told us ‘take a monkey, place him into the cockpit and he is able to drive the car.’ Thirty years later, Sebastian told us ‘I had to start my car like a computer, it’s very complicated.’ And Nico Rosberg said that during the race - I don’t remember what race - he pressed the wrong button on the wheel. Question for you both: is Formula One driving today too complicated with twenty and more buttons on the wheel, are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future concerning the technical programme during the race? Less buttons, more? Or less and more communication with your engineers?

    • @HolySwordsman1
      @HolySwordsman1 10 років тому

      yes he uses the word immersion a few times. in his position, id spend as long as it took to get them absolutely as identical as possible. the right side looked slightly better than the right, and batman looked much better than the racer(batman was darker, making it less noticeable). that was not the point of this video though, if they were set up perfectly(which would actually be a lot harder than most peoplem think), it would be... well, complete immersion status.

      On a modern 4k Montiro if your lucka a titan is good enough but even with 3d you would need 2-3 titan x so multisettup 4k no way at max settings .

      its only 1,5 Gb vram per GPU so the same as a normal 580gtx

    • @stephandoppler1685
      @stephandoppler1685 8 років тому

      Hi Rob!
      Yes there was some 580GTX with double the vram so 1,5 and 3gb versions but the 590GTX was only sold with 1,5GB per GPU so that was what it made a little bit bad. Same was for the 690 that also only had 2gb vram per gpu what is in comparision of the rawpower a dualgpu have absolutly to less.
      So a 580gtx 3gb sli was much more futureproof or a 680 4gb sli than the dualcards.The dualcards only have one advantage if you have a uatx board with only one 16 pcie slot or to less place in the case or other cards that uses all slots .
      Even the new Fury X dualcard that will be released soon is not really interessting for gamers because it will only come with 4gb hbm for each gpu what is a little bit less for today gaming compared to the rawpower you get. Pherhabs if you are an Pro gamer and only using an 1080p Monitor and want most fps and quality down the vram will be no issue. But if you turn of the textures and ressolution for what a card like that is made the 4gb are very close to the point where it will be to less.
      Even the 980Ti with 6gb vram is not overequipted.
      Most user atm would take 2x 390 before the new fiji dualcard for futureproof.

    Fantastic video, shows what you can do if your really into a expansive 3D theater-like experience. Granted this looks like it might take quite a bit of space to do which is the only possible downfall if at all. This answers some of my questions about a 3D projector experience and I hope to do this kind of setup but with a different projector but from Optoma instead of Acer and with one projector since I lack the space to do it this way but I'd love to do it.

    • @stephandoppler1685
      @stephandoppler1685 8 років тому

      +Scbdfrg Stratten
      Yes a 960 should be get near the same performance. it has less texturefill rate of 72 (960) vs. 77 (590) and also the bandwith is lower 112(960) vs. 165 (590) but it has some advantages against the 590.
      1. sli newer produce 100% more fps so the 590 only working at around 75% of its specs in terms of rwapower.
      2. 960 have more vram with can be an advandage even in older games.
      3. it has a lot more tesselation units that are not count in in the normal gpu-power numbers and so little advantage for the 960.
      so in the end pherhabs even an 950 could get the same speed against the 590 but 960 should definitly do the job.

    why anyone would want to play on a projector is beyond me. the contrast is so low it looks cloudy. theres no pop to the pictures. horrible. absolutely for the noobs of gaming.

    • @waitisthatcobalt
      @waitisthatcobalt 9 років тому

      Well maybe because it's better for your eyes, you can sit back and relax, and you have a huge screen to play on.

    • @Helghanhooker
      @Helghanhooker 9 років тому

      How's it better on your eyes? no TV has caused my eyes any problems. You can lay back and relax with a TV more so than you can with a projector and who in their right mind would want a a screen that size to play games on? it would look absolutely horrible. Bigger isn't always better, especially if you are playing a 720p game on a giant projector

    • @waitisthatcobalt
      @waitisthatcobalt 9 років тому

      Helghanhooker because it's not direct light but rather reflected light. But you're right, projectors have worse contrast and picture quality and they're more annoying to use. But you can get 1080p projectors.

    • @waitisthatcobalt
      @waitisthatcobalt 9 років тому

      Yeah you know what, you're right. Sometimes I like using a projector just for the hell of it, but it's a damn hassle to set up and terrible for serious gaming. You get worse contrast and image quality as well as refresh rate. A TV or monitor would be a better choice.

      It's just a cheaper option if you want large $ per inch screen. Super huge TVs cost alot.

    Awesome idea using projectors to remove besels but after using a Rift DK2, all I can think about is playing games with the consumer version of the Oculus. It beats any sized screen any day of the week. (Yes I am aware this video is from 2011).

    You can continue to download games on Steam while playing. While launching a game will pause any downloads, you only have to alt tab out and press 'resume' to continue downloading in the background.

    is it possible to get precision pixel-level matching edges of every two projectors?
    I tested 1x2 and 1x3 configurations and it is impossible to match edges using only keystone corrections embedded info projector firmware

    You can use Warpalizer to make the screens merge better. Also it's adds a little more immersion if you throw it off of a curved screen.

    The beauty of a 720p projector with high lumens is maxing every game out with an overclocked gtx 750.
    On the other hand, I have a 27 inch 800x600 crt monitor which makes games look really good at god mode max for everything every concieved that has 800x600 as a base option.
    The lower native res monitors look as good compared to higher resolutions depending on the quality of the monitor involved. Not a big leap over 1080p in immersive experience.
