Ray Charles had said that the closest living person to the speed of the great Art Tatum, is Oscar Peterson and this performance right here is proof of that and also why Art tatum himself had alot of respect and appreciation for Oscar and they both became close friends over the years. Thank you for sharing this awesomeness.
Das Zitat von "Lache Bajazzo" in der Coda dieser absolut meisterhaften Darbietung ist ein kleiner Hinweis wie großartig Oscar Peterson war. Unerreichbar in seiner Virtuosität. Zurückhaltend in seiner Begleitfunktion. Hinter Ella und Louis 1956 merkt man ihn kaum. Seine Soloversion von Round midnight 1982 rührt zu Tränen. Ein ganz großer Musiker.
I've only seen it referred to as "Yours Is My Heart Alone". There are recordings of it by Glenn Miller, etc, using that title. Your title doesn't match up with the German, either.

The God of Jazz piano
Holy moly!!!!😀
Thanks eternally for this great video. I hope it's on dvd.
Fantastic - one of Oscar Peterson's greatest filmed performances. This is actually from the BBC Jazz 625 program and NOT a Yugoslavian Performance.
HOLY SHIT!
this is unironically more fire than classical
Great!
That would be quarter note is 350 bpm!!!! And that would be fast!!! And this is fabulous playing...
The title is actually: "Yours Is My Heart Alone". The song is based on a classical theme by Lehar.
This has multiple titles. So chill. :-)
Think the title is right, You are my hearts delight is the same theme
Fact: All of them are dead now :(
What in the actual heck
I've only seen it referred to as "Yours Is My Heart Alone". There are recordings of it by Glenn Miller, etc, using that title. Your title doesn't match up with the German, either.
377 bpm?
Who da hecks could do it better?😃
Marian Petrescu us about the only person who could come close...but I think Oscar holds the crown for improvisation and velocity
on this one.
art tantum probably
@@thebluegamerdrummer2363 yes but Tatum died young and Oscar stayed great a long time.
