I have to listen to this every Christmas or it's not Christmas! Started playing this back in late 2003 but my character was too low of a level to get to Jeuno for the first time. Not sure if they had the Christmas music that year, but I remember being thrilled next year when I walked into Jeuno and was very happily surprised when I heard the sleigh bells and this started up. Played all the way until around 2016 or so. I'd taken about a 5 year hiatus after Abyssea and came back to go through both Seekers of Adoulin and the *INSANELEY DEPRESSING* Rhapsodies of Vana'diel. OMG that ending... I'm not crying, *YOU'RE* crying! Hell of a way to end a game. I know it's still open, but it's just maintenance mode now where they just keep updating Ambuscade with different enemies, so really it's just a very slow creep to shutting down forever. I will *never* forget this game, the linkshells or the people who I fought alongside in some of the most difficult events I've ever experienced in an MMO. To this day there are only 2 things I can really look back on as the pinnacle of my gaming experiences - first guild to beat the Emperor Karl on Gorfang server in Warhammer Online, and finishing COP when it was hard mode in FFXI. I don't think either of these will ever be topped. I don't have the patience or the time to sink into games anymore that were as difficult as ones like FFXI, but those memories will live on forever. - Fhqwghads/Trogdoor of Odin (formerly of Ifrit) and Aldel of Gorfang (Arsenal guild). Merry Christmas!
FFXI was much more then a game it really was a story and offered something no other game can from the friends made and adventures had it really was unique and the feeling of overcoming challenges was very satisfying I played from 2005-2014 finally hanging up the black belt for good the most memorable experience was soloing adamantoise for my egg finishing my black belt and this was back in the day of rmt botters and bot hnmls.
This song reminds me of one of the hottest summer during the xmas week in 2005 in melbourne, australia. I was all alone that week and slept through the night in jeuno for this song the whole week. 😂 Sad week but good ol' memory.
I know it is late. We are already near half a month in. Merry Christmas and a happy new year, my fellow FFXI'ers. With all the crazy happening. My Forever love, FFXI , where it all stays outside, and our FFXI stays FFXI.
Going to sleep at 3am waking up at 12pm, no school, yelling to your mom to make you pancakes then immeditatly flag up for party. As your mom yells at you that the pancakes are ready, you get a tell 15 minutes goes by and your mom already knows your not coming to get your pancakes and she brings them to your room. 5-6 hours later you're hungry again, the party has just disbanded after amazing experience. You go take a shower and enjoy your dinner your mom has cooked. After eating and realxing you back to your computer and start browsing the auction house for new items and check if things has sold. You calculate how many stacks of silk thread or tree cuttings or spider webs you need to farm for your SH +1. You start looking which place is less crowded or has less RMT and decide where to farm next. You /anon and start farming, now is closing at 2-3 AM, you are feeling tired and go back to Jeuno AH to put items you farm to sell... Nothing will ever top FFXI, it's pretty much impossible.
2023 Christmas checking in! Oh my I loved just sitting in jeuno listening to this for hours. Thank you vana’diel for the memories.
This takes me back to when I was 14, and I am 36 now. p_p 😭😭😭
Back at it again for Christmas 2023!
Don't have a subscription anymore...but listening to this in December 2023!
Checking in from December 2023.
Thank you very much.
To me, and many others out there, this is the only holiday song that matters.
Cugel, WHM75, Unicorn! (; ;) back in time
While I abandoned FFXI a long time ago, I still come back to this every year for christmas because it is iconic to me as Jingle Bells.

The Christmas music in Jeuno wasn't there until 2004.
