These prices for common items people would need from the market is really helpful for anyone planning to travel. I'm a bit jealous of some of these prices. Especially jealous of the two chickens and all the bonus items they give.

Finding all the area markets for your supplies you are used too. And trying the new stuff can be interesting. A little pastry every once in a while is OK🥐🥮. Looks like you are all setup for now.
Enjoy your time there in beautiful Mexico 🇲🇽

The household paper products are a bit pricey, so good thing the produce is relatively cheap. It’s very considerate of you to buy the supplies to take care of the pets although I would have thought the owners would load up on these already for the housesitters since it’s their pets. Nice, modern house you are staying at!

Hey Buck thanks for the prices that's a lot more money than expected. However, I'm a tightwad and I've spent a lot of time looking for low-price alternatives. That was a nice-looking grocery store it looks like it could have been in Bal Harbor or Coral Gables. I do think I could live cheaper here in Sunrise than in Mexico but on the other hand, I'm not gonna be getting any hummingbirds

City Market in SMA is seriously one of the nicest--if not THE NICEST--grocery store I've ever shopped in. On our last trip to Mexico, we were thrilled by the overall reduced cost of living compared to the USA; I think the cost of living in San Miguel de Allende is lower than many places in the US, but it is one of the pricier places to visit in Mexico. I made a video years ago emphasizing the cheap grocery costs we were finding in Mexico, But that video does not apply to SMA

    Very interesting, thank you!
I'm just wondering whether you could get things you can store like detergents, toilet paper etc. maybe cheaper and with free home delivery on Amazon, also in SMA?

they do have Amazon delivery here in San Miguel, but I'm not sure how it works. They don't have a local postal service, but we have seen Amazon packages being delivered around town by cars an vans --nothing with official markings, though. In fact we had a amazon package delivery at our last housesit in SMA--something the homeowners had ordered. We came home one day to find that a small amazon package had been tossed into the living room through the barred windows.

San Miguel de Allende is one of the nicest places we've visited in Mexico, and the prices reflect that, for sure.

Great to see the cost of everything. Of course everything has gotten outrageously expensive. It was great to see footage of city market. I had looked them up on Google when I had seen the old footage from your last trip in mexico. It was cool to see the inside of the store live.
Look forward to your next video and the restaurant outings. 🏜

The last time we spent any time in Mexico was the end of 2019/ beginning of 2020, and we were thrilled at the cost of living compared to what we were experiencing in the USA, but we were mostly in less touristy areas during that previous trip. SMA is an expat/tourist hotspot, so no doubt global inflation and the bonkers rise in real estate costs in recent years have pushed San Miguel de Allende into an even pricier travel market. I'm real curious to see what our final budget will end up being for this 5-6 month Mexico trip. So far, I think we're way under budget, but we've still got a couple of months yet to go...CG keeps a record of all our spending, so we'll make a comprehensive budget video at the end of this trip.
