Yeah, I need to quit guitar too.
Thank you so much for including Alan G at the end!!! He is amazing and absolutely love his relaxing songs. He is very underrated and I wish him the best in his career.
@@reviewhax1018 i didnt expect to see alan either
i used to listen to a lot of his stuff he really is underrated
You guys think it's funny that you both actually smash guitar and to a non-guitarist you both are geniuses in your own rights.
Nah...
Lol
Yay! You called it ring tapping not harmonics haha thanks for spreading the word man! 🙏🏼
bruh
As a bassist, that's exactly how I feel when I watch Charles Berthoud.
same he just fucking outskills everyone
Same
Ditto... he can have my 6-string, I officially retire
@@ideitbawxproductions1880 he was a guitarist first lol
Hh oh... Nik, we got one
6:07 that was me!!!! This was such a fun video to watch dude I really enjoyed it a lot haha. And Nik don’t feel bad, I loved ur solo too. Im super thankful to have been in this video with someone like you 🙏🏻
i was just about to go to your tiktok to say you were in nik's video too, looks like im the one thats late lmao
huge rings of saturn vibes with those harmonies
@@hbc431 yep! That’s where I get my main inspiration from. Joel is a huge influence for me when it comes to melodic playing.
That kid that threw the pick and tapped the rest of it is absolutely insane. Tremaine too, absolute monster. I'm so glad Jared added in non huge name guys into this. Love me some Jason Richardson but it's the hidden talent that's great to see.
I’m the pick tosser kid 🫡
@@LukeDjents lol well you’re goin places bro. Keep tappin’.
@@TheRedAnvil40 I appreciate it bro thank you 🙏🏻
Tremaine's solo is absolutely astonishing. Incredibly smooth legato and really really melodic phrasing. His tone control with pickup switching really added a TON to the solo.
Thanks!!! 🙏🏼
My solo was right after yours lol. Super stoked to have been able to be in the collab with you and everyone else who was in it 🤘🏽
Your solo was sick!
@@kmilli0313 thanks!
Ayye you killed it man
@@suf9045 thank you!:)
Man, the way you integrated the killswitch in your playstyle is fkn incredible.
you're my top 3 discovery with
Lwandile Prusent & Tramaine Jonathan. (also Louis Barras but he didn't make it to top10)
Thanks for including me here! My name is pronounced “he-meh-nah” 😂 Thanks again! You rock 🤘🏼☺️🤘🏼
The amount of talent showcased in this video is insane. Such a diverse cast of incredible musicians from like literally every background possible. Jared absolutely outdid himself this time.
0:41 killed me😂
I don’t even play guitar, but every year I look forward to see what Jared and everyone puts together. Love that he contributes this tradition
This collab made ME quit guitar.
And I'm a drummer. I don't even own a guitar.
sadge
This collaboration made Me compose my own and it just makes them look like random nonsense
Tramaine and Charles were major standouts for me
Nik your section was solid dude! I enjoyed it much more than several other additions.
That bass comment immediately followed by Charles Berthoud was rough though lol
4:05 that gif gave me so much joy.
and i love that ichitka was confident enough to use a casio lmao and bradley was super cool
No cap, I sat through the whole thing and yours, Coles, and the triple neck acoustic guy's parts are the only ones I remember. You smashed it fr.
Man, I was waiting for you. There are all scales, notes, chords that anyone and everyone can play. But the great thing is no one plays them the same. You playing in that line up represented me, a metal guitarist. You were telling me bro, and us as a metal community. You couldn’t have done us prouder 🤘
Nah man. I loved your part in it. It's very identifiably you, and that alone speaks volumes. It's a break from all the super speed playing and honestly brings a lot to the track. I was really hoping you'd be in it this year, and you absolutely delivered.
Keep on keeping on man! I'm always here for more.
Love your channel Nik, wholesome collab ❤
Marcin was on America's Got Talent several years back... started with classical transitioned into Toxicity on acoustic, absolutely shredded on it
I am now convinced that ALL guitar youtubers know each other personally and are good friends irl
Tramaine, Luke, and Noah were incredible. Glad they made into this collab they definitely deserved it. Also Brandon Ellis is literally a flawless guitarist. For real try and find a flaw, even live. You won't. I think he is actually the best guitarist on earth right now.
I look forward to the shred collab every year. There's always so much amazing talent here, and every year gets better and more jaw dropping.
Lots of great talent this year but manuel and marcin are hands down the most creative. Also i really liked your part! It was a lot more interesting than some of the typical shreddy-kid-go-fast stuff
Your editors are amazing how they manage to edit your expressions and make em even funnier
its really not that hard nor any funnier
@@Crazyclay78YT do it better
@@kastefer7827 its not even good in the first place, why waste my time
@@Crazyclay78YT you must be fun at parties.
Wishes for next year:
1. Tim/Scott (Polyphia)
2. Charles Caswell (Berried Alive)
3. Jack Black/KG. Make it happen.
You basically got diet Polyphia in Manuel, and diet Charles in that one dude in the Berried Alive shirt.
That was the most Will Swan thing I've ever seen.
Okay i love DGD. Will writes increcible songs. I see why they never have solos though 💀
Nah he can write good solos too. Back to the future part 2 has an amazing solo. Don't know what he was trying to do in the shred collab, but he is definitely capable of making something better than whatever he ended up with.
@@flabscary4223Hell yea, that’s my favorite song. Will Swan the goat
The ladies really brought it this year. Super impressed with everyone
You think you have seen it all after half an hour and then the last dude blows your mind with those crazy harmonics. This was an insane collab.
This feels like that 90s movie where like I am getting a tour of my new high school from a kid who says hes kind of a big deal but then has an existential crisis mid trip. Love you brother.
I really liked how this shred collab was a LOT of people I hadn't heard of before. Lots of new and seemingly up-and-coming guitarists on this year's. That was super cool imo
Loved the fact Jared got some acoustic fingerstyle players in this one! Couldn't believe we started this off with some laptapping. Absolutely insane collab!
and bass!
idk if you found out or not, but thedooo's guitar is an Ibanez Steve Vai signature and the model number is PIA3761
I loved watching you react to these people. As someone who doesn't play guitar, but loves it, I'm blown away by watching basically anything shreddy.
Marcin and Charles (as always) killed it. Tremaine too...top 3
You know Nik, all the how's and why's you say about everyone else I say about you. Everyone Brought something to the table and yours was one of my favorite. Out of all the super shredding, Hensonite playing, and gags in the shred collabs yours was always one of my favorites. Not because you showed off the whole time but you put your own soul into it and in the end that's what makes a good guitar solo. Thanks for everything you do Nik and being honest and funny on your channel.
You did it, Nik, that's all that matters at this point!
This still melts my face, too. Too much talent & skill all in one video.
Let's keep the hype-train going! \m/
My top 5 this year were I built the sky, Marcin, Bernth, Onyx and Lwandile.
Your reaction to Marcin is basically me except every single time I hear him play anything.
Edit: sad to see no reaction to Bernth cause his part was insane too but still, great vid nonetheless ! Much love Nik
Oh ya thats fine... just skip right over me daddio... I'm not crying myself to sleep you are
That "perfection" gif from a random german guy Florentin is even in Nik's video, that meme really just went everywhere.
Marcin melted my brain.
I love this! Nik is just dying over and over again. This was the same reaction I had watching that shred comp.
Loved seeing in the shred collab !!
You killed it Nik.. Remember we are our own Worst Critics to ourselves.. You belonged on that Collab with all of those other Amazing Guitarists.. I hope you have a Great Happy New Year 🎉🎸🤘🏻
Congrats on 1 million subs bruv 🥂
Nik being humble. His shred was one of my favorites.
That one guy was from unprocessed. That guy is so recognizable
"Who invited this guy" when Nik was on killed me
You don't give yourself enough credit, Nik. You did an awesome job!
Now, after watching Charles Berthoud killing it on that 6-string bass... I never want to play my bass again.
(Loved your reaction to that part, btw) 🤣
Thx!
Always looking forward to those shreddies. U did fine dXD
You gotta stop putting yourself down man😂😂You're awesome too!!
That ring tapping at the bridge thing is similar to something that Bumblefoot has been doing for a while where he uses a knitting thumb cap to "detune" while
Of all the entries with some of my favorite artists… my personal favorites was Jimena Fosado. Incredible composition and feel. Loved it!
I think Niks part was just as good as the rest I still loved it.
that dude onyx crushed it!! you too nic!!
This colab was by far the best ever, so much talent! Unreal
Loved seeing Mike Dawes at the start of this, dude is unreal
bro, your solo was THE BEST when it comes to amount of editing it passed
I don't know much about guitar playing admittedly but i liked Nik's part. Proud of him.
That moment when even basse players make u wonder where u went down the wrong path was clearly visualized on your face 🤣🤣
Brandon Ellis’s solo wasn’t in this video, but it was insane.
I said it on one of his shortlist videos a while ago and I'll mention here as well. Lot of talent on display but equally a lot of "sameyness" colour by numbers kinda playing too. Mike dawes was the acoustic standout for me personally but props for Rudy going that route as well. I liked both of their contributions. Most of the electric stuff was ok I guess but when you've heard it a lot it does tend to melt into each other.
Cole Rolland is my current crush. He seriously may be the most gorgeous guitar player ever. Also, nice to see Charles Berthoud in this vid!
You are a very humble man.... You dont give urself enough credit..
you look the same like when steve T. watches things like this i love it :D
This year's collab was Jared's best one. I actually sat through the whole thing 😆
Every guitar player have our own skill. Apreciate what we have
I really enjoyed your part Nik. From many of the artists like Jason, Nita and Michael Angelo you somehow expect a shredfest and get a shredfest. Your part is like modern metal guitar music but from humans for humans. Like i can listen to this stuff and my brain does not melt.
From the melting brain department Marcin is probably my favorite. That dude plays a simple accoustic guitar and makes more noices than most bands and the dude is pure music. Favorit to listen to changes a lot but yours, Rabeas and Olas are up there most of the time. 😬 Davie on the 4 string guitar is also not bad ...
It's overall such a great piece of art.
If everyone sounded the same, it wouldn't be inspirational. All these guys ignited the same passion I had when I was 15 for guitar.
I don’t know why but Annie Shred’s part is so intoxicating. The sound is so great.
Best moment for me: Florentin Will at 4:05 😂
Dude! Where’s my part? 😂😂😂
Sad... Your Part was amazing... So was bernths and Others
Aw man I would've loved to see his reaction to Brandon Acker and his archlute.
Jared always reaches the best instrumentalist to Collab and create a better video than the previous one.
It was so sick being in Jared’s video, shredding in the same video as you 🙏
My girl and I watched it for you, Nick! Lol. You're our favorite UA-cam guitarist! Keep up the good work!
"Hope lost" is perfect for hedras lol, dude is absolutely insane
2:00 Ibanez Steve Vai signature. Cost close to $1,500. Probably more
They did Will so dirty 😅
Nik, you playing was awesome
0:33 this sounds like a riff from Pain Remains 3
Yeh it is
Anyone else notice Jason played the verse riff from pain remains 3?
Nik is a good songwriter I love his work in Termina
"He's just in a random parking garage!"
Guy in the parking garage made me pick up my acoustic
Nik, you're just as awesome as all the others!
Bro you killed it
We love someone else doing another things that we can't do.. still you're great guitar player, love you're humble, you are great, Nik
These shred collabs are the most densely packed skill/talent (I hate to use the word talent cause these people put incredible amount of time into their craft) to time ratio videos on UA-cam.
Also Herman casting spells and shit.
Nick Hipa shredding never fails to make me smile
When Nik said about throwing away your guitar. That’s me basically just seeing someone play bar chords
Dude his reaction to himself is so funny, made me laugh out loud
If you don’t know about Hedras, seriously check him out. I was introduced to him on an Ando San song “Vitality”, and it was the most beautiful riff.
I didn’t know we were supposed to make riffs 😂
Damn i did not expect nick hippa there. as i lay dying is one of very few band where i really enjoy almost every song from them
The silent stare of amazement at Charles Berthoud is perfection!
Onyx Morales part was nasty! Everyone did a great job
The Doo's guitar is the Steve Vai signature from Ibanez
Fun and games aside I feel this haha
When Jared reviewed the China shred collab is a legit reaction heh
