- Eufy recently sent me their newest Deadbolt in their line of Smart Locks. This has a Fingerprint reader, Keypad, App controls that can also connect with Google & Alexa, using Wi-Fi. This thing is pretty awesome. You can even use it for Airbnb, Babysitters, Pet-sitters, or even a neighbor to be able to come over and water your plants.

I just purchased this door lock. I can't wait to see it in action! Thanks for the great video.
Hope you like it as much as I have!
Eufy is definitely becoming my preferred smart home product!
They just keep getting better. They've introduced features from newer ones to some of the older products that are compatible with just software updates.
@@GrantButler hopefully they keep the no subscription model. I'm ok with paying a premium to be without it, they seem like solid quality products!
Very nice! Love it!
Thanks!
Great video! You are really good at cutting the visual to match your voice. Great job. Great coverage of the info. You answered all my questions.
Thank you. I do my best to make these videos the best I can.
Cool 😎 👍 very helpful 👍 thank you
I'm glad you found it helpful!
It's good very good
👍
Great tutorial and I plan to use it. Would you be able to give me the max width of the unit (both inner and outer units if different)? I am concerned about having enough space between door jamb and a window on the door. Thanks very much
Thanks, Grant, for a very clear, helpful, well done and, importantly, 3:50 honest video!
Questions:
1. Were you able to find out if it could somehow be modified to accommodate the “keyed-alike” functionality so useful to homeowners?
2. Security experts advise using longer bolts and deeper receiver cups in order to add a little more security to doors, most of which are very easily crowbarred open or kicked open? Do you know if this kind of modification is possible?
3. Also, I couldn’t really determine whether or not your secondary doorknob contained a simple twist lock, but if it did--or other viewers’ doors do, I presume that functionality would be lost altogether (except of course when you are at home).
Thanks, again!

So, I spoke to a lock smith and he said the inner cylinder might be able to be replaced to match the other locks, but it may impact reliability because of the modification, and might not be cost effective.
I'm not sure if you can use this with a longer bolt, but it might be possible considering the lock & unlock position can be calibrated.
As for the door knob, you are exactly right.
So I have the S230 and I am able to unlock and lock with the finger print which is fast. I dont hold the lock shield check icon cause it's too slow.
Yeah they actually pushed out that ability with a firmware update the day after I posted this video. ua-cam.com/users/shortsSBF1EBq1EAU?si=f8lYGgfAJ2lGoHOg
Great video! Would this work with a double cylinder deadlock?
I don't know what you mean by "work with" this is intended to replace a deadbolt.
Just installed... Had to fix the strike plate as it kept jamming. Hope I have no other issues.
Question...the Shield button only locks the door when held down, not unlock, right?
Correct, the "Shield" only locks the door. You put in the code then press the "Shield" to unlock it.
Were you able to get it rekeyed to the same key as your other locks
No I haven't
How did you takeoff the cover to the battery compartment for videos and no one shows you how to take off the cover to the battery compartment
What do you mean? Did you watch my video?
Still working good? Great video BTW.
YES
They even made some of the updates that I recommended like the locking using your fingerprint
@GrantButler awesome. Thanks
I really don't understand is if the 🔒 has a key lock I don't think it is a smart lock otherwise you might as well is heep your old Lock
The key is a backup. A fingerprint is just an easier way to get in. You can create & manage access for kids, friends, and neighbors. So you don't have to buy a key for each person to have access. Have you or your kid ever lost a house key? Can't lose your finger so easily.
Do i need internet for the lock to work??
To set it up, yes. Once it's set up, no. You just won't be able to do anything with the app without wifi.
There's no operating instructions in the Eufy manual or online. And you don't give them here.
They're in the app. What are you trying to do?
@@GrantButler Thanks for the speedy reply. Not only do I not see anything in the app, but when I got to the help tab in the app and put in C220, it says nothing found. I just installed this a couple days ago and tested it. It didn't unlock reliably but I had a hard time figuring out what I was doing right or wrong. Then I took off for the weekend. When I got home, I could not unlock with fingerprint or passcode. They don't supply info on how to lock from outside or how to input your passcode at the keypad. I've finally found some tidbits of info here and there but nothing comprehensive. Here's an example: there's nothing I could find anywhere about what the X icon on the bottom left does - not in the manual and not online. Once the installation and setup via the app is done, there's no comprehensive instructions for operating it. That's from a newbie point of view. It took me 20 minutes to install the hardware and it's been hours trying to find info to figure out how to make it work. One thing that did help (done in the last hour) is to delete my preferred fingerprint and rescan. It seems better but I don't know for how long it will continue to work with that finger. There's probably 20 plus videos online about how to install and program, and not one how how to operate it.
MSRP?
$150
Don´t work with HomeKit?
What's Homekit?
Unfortunately not.
@@GrantButlerIt’s Apple Home, which is Apple’s ecosystem.
@@CaydenThyGamer thanks for explaining that.
Scramble code? What is that?
I actually talk about that in my video that I posted today! It's so you can put in random numbers before or after if you have someone looking over your shoulder
Jump to 9:21 in my video that I posted today
I tried one scenario.
If we keep the door open. Eufy c220 deadbolt still comes out 😊
Sounds like the "auto lock" is on. If you don't want it to lock you need to turn that off
@@GrantButleryes auto lock is on. But shouldn’t the lock recognize if the door is opened?
14:44 bought this product thinking thats how it works. It seems autolock is time based only. Was expecting there was some kind of internal sensor.
@@pareshwagh3012mine does this also. It will alert me the door is locked but the door is wide open. A total flaw if you ask me.
The battery burned up so fast we threw this in the garbage.
I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't had to change the batteries on mine yet
The problem with your video is you dont mention about the orientation of these parts, the whole point of watching a video like this is to know these things ahead of time so you dont have to unscrew everything after finding out you installed stuff in different directions or orientation
There's labels on it to keep it up right. It's pretty easy to not screw it up
Totally agree. Example. In the book it says if the latch hole is round ( and mine is) to contact customer service to receive a round drive-in faceplate then replace the existing one. Had they stated this as in an option or need to check, prior so you could also purchase whatever is needed. Instead of having to put what you just removed while having to wait.
@@jodisue13 I didn't think of that one. I think mine came with the stuff to do both
