Hold on, I don't know what would of changed, but aren't you not supposed to carve the tail during the hunt? In hitting while someone's mounting, that can be obviously changed, but what would change to allow tail carving?
I love how they improved the animation when he goes from ground mode to flight mode. The icy aura and thunderbolts either weren't there or weren't noticeable in 3u.
I'm honestly really excited to fight Alatreon again. It's been around 2.5 years since I've fought him after the Tri servers went down because I didn't have a WiiU or a 3DS for the longest time. Hyped af

Isn't the Aerial style easily abused? I mean, I've been following gameplays. Nearly everyone spams the jump, gets a ride, repeat, hunt's over. Is it balanced?
So, they removed his fire aoe, his ground slaps don't erupt anymore, he only does dragon damage when he's enraged now, he hugely telegraphs his dives and jumps, and it looks like they halved the hp on his horns. What I'm gathering is he's kind of a chump in this game. His roar can be dodged without evasion skills, so unless you're animation locked, it shouldn't be too difficult to keep up your bubble buff.

Well i think he is on the same level as the black Fatalis, you should take into account that the white Fatalis is supposed to be the father of all elder dragons so... i guess he still has potential ^^
Yes and No Yes because it can control almost every element (except for water) meaning that it could possibly hunt something like Akantor or Ukanlos if it absolutely had to. No because it hasn't mastered all of the elements let alone the four at its disposal and there is only five of them so it's kinda sad. And here's something what if Alatreon is one of three Original Elderdragons because it alongside its Japan only counterpart and a Elderdragon in MH-online can utilize every element possible while Alatreon and Disufiroa can't use water while Merphistophelin can use every element possible but has to use them one at a time and the majority of Elderdragons use at least one of the elements so wouldn't it be at least reasonable for the Elderdragons to have come from the three of them.

krusher K MH4u is the only monhun game that has ever sold well in the west, and it was still only 1/4 of total sales. One data point does not make a pattern. Monhun localisations have always been announced not long after the initial announcement, and are decided on before the game is announced. And these games are annual in Japan, mh5 or a much less likely mhxg is already in the works. There's no way they'd announce a localisation of mhx at this point.
+Magmafrost13 They will likely do it with the g version. Same thing with mh4u. Sure, monster hunter hasn't every really sold THAT well here in the west. But MH4U was a huge success in capcom's eyes. It rivaled even majora's mask 3d on the week of release. And due to critical acclaim and generally good sales it makes no sense for capcom to just ignore the western audience at this point. Every monster hunter game does better then the last and mh4u is anything but an exception. I'm totally sure that it will be localized when the g version is released.
As someone who REALLY enjoyed Alatreon back in Tri and 3U, he seems a bit downgraded from what I can remember. Which is a shame really, the insta deaths was the challenge in this monster. The fact that you can jump around and hit him in the air shifts the fight from overwhelming to underwhelming, to me at least, because it's now that much easier to hit him without too much of a risk...
So that explains the bubbles. Can't Alatre be flash bombed like in MH3? At least mounting should make Alatreon a tad easier. I will solo this guy one day... he is my nemesis (and favourite monster in the franchise). And how come nobody else attack during the mounting? I thought they changed it so that attacking while someone is mounting actually helps? Oh and #MHForTheWest so I can return to kill Alatreon for some sweet revenge (for all the times he killed me).
I don't think any MH game has gotten G-rank on its first release. Let's hope that MHX gets an Ultimate-like version and pray that it gets released here at all -_-

G rank wasn't hard in MH3G/U. Source: I solo'd it. if you take G rank by the horns (litterally) by farmingu Goldbeard Ceadeus until you make Helios armour, G rank becomes a pushover.

Alatreon in MhX was nerfed a bit it seems. When he uses the thunder claws into the ground no lava geisers appear after the attack. The moves he is going to make are more obvious in aerial mode, you see thunder aura like 2 secons before the attack he stays less time in ground mode and that back jump with fireball attack isn't used as much. On the other hand, Flash bombs work again and there might be no balista or columns to flinch it, I didn't notice at least. He looks more cool aestically in MhX but weaker too.

I never had the pleasure of fighting this guy with a party on the 3ds. With the Insect Glaive and a human party, I'll hopefully be able to finally take this powerful dragon down

AkatsukiKaizoku The ballista binder was put there to make the fight easier, you could only knock him out of the sky with KO's or status. You could only use it every 5 minutes so it wasn't exploitable.
Its the fastest way for a player to move the franchise has ever seen , short of being punched by a Rajang. It launches you so far forward. But in actually attacking the monster, no, there's not really a point.

yeah,to fight on the water they would add the underwater fights but imo HELL NO THANKS XD.

That's exactly what has me excited to see laggi back. He was fun, but water fights sucked, so at some point in the future we'll get to fight him on land and land only (not counting Ivory, it was a touch too easy).
That monster looks like a cross between a shagaru mangala, tamamitsune, and tseostra.
