You know, it's really encouraging that women like you are comfortable talking about the TMI stuff because it's the unknown that's scary, and this really takes a lot of the fear out of the process (for me, at least). Thank you so much for being willing to do that.
It makes me feel a million times more secure. At least now I know the things that could happen. Somethings I kind of knew and some I didn't but I was more scared of the fact that I wasn't gonna know anything. Especially since well my personal ob/gyn isn't really much on the informative side which kinda just freaks me out. I'd rather know than not know so that I can mentally prepare myself of what's to come. I mean when I go for my check-ups they're always like rather pretty fast. I mean yeah it's nice that I don't have to be there for a long time but I just wish they could give more information and I wish they wouldn't expect for a new momma to know exactly what to ask about because I'm completely new and have no clue about what's normal and what's not. Just wish they could be way more informative like ask me what sort of symptoms I've been feeling or tell me what sort of symptoms I might be feeling during this week or the weeks to come. I think that it would definitely make a huge difference and new mothers would definitely be able to relax a lot more instead of being worried if the baby is growing alright or if you yourself are doing alright body wise. For me they just sort of ask me the same questions everytime. They always check the heartbeat of the baby which is good. Recently they've been measuring my uterus just to see how far along my body actually says that I'm at but that's pretty much it. I don't even know what to look for or expect for when I start having contractions. I don't know what they're supposed to feel like that well so I'm just kind of questioning was that just the baby pulling on something or is that kinda what Braxton Hicks contractions feel like??? I don't even know what it's supposed to look like when my water breaks...I mean I've heard (from this lovely woman doing the video not from my ob/gyn directly) that for some women it's not always necessarily a huge gush of water coming out it might be just a trickle of it...so it just kinda worries me a bit since I normally have fluids coming out of my vagina regularly. How am I supposed to tell the difference from the normal fluids to when my water breaks???? I know that it's supposed to look like clear just like water but still I mean I wear liners and they're always getting fluid on them sometimes it looks clear and sometimes more yellowish but if my water breaks I just really hope that at that moment I'll be able to distinguish the difference.
Allison Duck girl I was like what is happening here?! It all worked out fine and I was in a good headspace but dear lord I’m sure not everyone wants to see that 😂
Tiffany Grigg exactly! I’m actually going to school to become a nurse in labor and delivery and the most important thing besides mom and baby’s health is making sure that they’re comfortable and are able to control what they can in the delivery room! Since pregnancy, labor etc have so many variables that you cannot control!
@@allisonduck9199 right? My mom got a nurse fired when she had me because they gave her more pain relievers after she told them not to. She said she was ready to push and they told her she hadn't been laboring long enough. Didn't even bother checking, just shot her up and walked out. I came five minutes later, completely unconcious, with the umbilical cord wrapped around my throat. I almost died and the nurse didn't care in the slightest. I'm now pregnant with my first and I went out of my way to find the highest rated doctor and hospital to [hopefully] avoid a similar experience...
Hey, K. It brought a tear of joy to my eye to see Jackson smiling and giggling for you on your UA-cam story... I know it's been so hard, so seeing that grunty little thing smile at you must have felt so awesome ♥️.
I'm pregnant with my second and also worked as a CNA for 5 years. I can confirm that everyone's parts look the same to health care professionals. We don't care about what things look like or if you shaved or not, and watching someone pee is nothing special compared to everything else they watch happen in hospitals!
I feel that just because the healthcare professionals are OK with it doesn't make it OK. The issue is that the patient may not be OK with it - I feel they ought to limit the no.s and also be careful to check the modesty of the patient rather than treat them as a birthing cow.
Wonderland we had round one which was unsuccessful and we were right in the middle of round two when the corona virus shut everything down in NY. But I’m using this time to lose some weight so I’m ready for a complete round 2
Tomorrow I'll be 38 weeks and I've been obsessively watching birth stories to try and mentally prepare for birth. This is my first baby and I'm excited and anxious! This video was super helpful!
I love you because of ur honesty..ppl other than u just show child birth as a piece of cake and nothing else happens..but u give us so much information to prepare prior to the "Act"...thanks Kayla!! Could you tell me how ur back feels after u r all healed up like do u have any epidural side effects?
Nida Sami awww thank you! I’m so glad you find them helpful lol this is reality! It’s def not a piece of cake 🎂 lol as for the epidural, I had some lower back pain for a few days but with a little Motrin and Tylenol it didn’t hurt too bad.
As a registered nurse.. this is very informative to new mommas out there. Things may really be uncomfortable and out of your control and dont forget painful but in those moments..all you will focus on is to get the baby out safely. If you are the shy type and worried about your genitals showing around nurses.. trust me, it's nothing to us anymore, we see them everyday, we see body fluids and those wonderful things that comes out of our bodies.
I’ve recently come across your channel and have binged your most recent baby content and it has been so helpful. I’m due in May with my first and have been researching like crazy!
Pregnant with my first here-she is due in 9 days! In one of the classes my husband and I took, they said the more babies you had the worse those afterbirth contractions are. So they probably were worse with Jackson. It has to do with your body knowing what to do, and so it happens more strongly and more quickly. So apparently that’s super normal, but not fun sounding at all!
I can’t express how much I love your videos. I’m currently 32 weeks with my first. Once I found out I was pregnant I binge watch your videos. As soon as I see you post it time to stop what I’m doing lmao. I absolutely love love love this channel and your beautiful family. ❤️ thank you for being so open and realistic You’ve helped out so many new mamas!! You’ve helped me tremendously. Stay safe and take care ❤️
Natural birth with my first baby... planning to do it again with my second. I’m petrified of getting an epidural so I’ll never get one. So crazy how different the experience is with one though because every second of labor (which was 17 hours) was super painful. I still can not believe i did it & I could pass out thinking about doing it again BUT you see your baby (especially after a miscarriage) & you realize that you really will do anything in the world for this baby! I struggled to push... the doctor was yelling at me but then they told me they could feel the cord around my daughters neck & out of nowhere I could & understood exactly how to push. It was amazing. Post labor also super painful & miserable but so so so worth it ❤️❤️❤️ congratulations to all the soon to be mamas & new mamas
It’s disturbing how much they violated your autonomy with forcing the mirror and making you touch the head. Thank goodness you can laugh about it now, but the field of gynecology really still has work to do in regards to patient autonomy and respect.
Everyone’s experience is so different, my second birth experience was without any pain medication and it wasn’t bad at all. And it’s worth that one day of pain and labour, and invasive touching and poking to have your children. I hope hearing other peoples birth stories don’t discourage people from having children because it’s all worth it. ❤️
I’m currently 3 weeks post-partum, and when you mentioned the ring of fire I knew immediately what you were talking about. I only had gas and air for my delivery so not much pain relief at all. When my boys head eventually started crowing I actually thought that I was dying, I have a high pain threshold but nothing can compare to that feeling. Some people don’t get it as bad, I did have 4 tears and I’ve now learnt that there are things you can do to prevent tears during childbirth but trust me ‘Ring of fire’ is a nice way of putting the pain. 100% worth it though and I would do it again in a heartbeat if I had to
Kuddos! Thank you for your honesty. I enjoyed bonding with you remembering my horrible experience having a baby 2 years ago. I also think they don't tell you is the crazy hormones you're blessed with making you hate your husband (sometimes) and making you feel overly paranoid. This lasts up until a year after you stop breast feeding plus the phantom cries you hear in the silence your baby is asleep. Ugh....I now understand why women really rule the world. ;)
Girl you are hilarious! "God blessed my butt" hahaha!! Love your realness - there's so much I wish I had known the first time around and would have appreciated this video!
PS, the ring of fire is HORRIBLE. I didn't have an epidural so I felt it all, and I literally thought I was going to be ripped in half. You're right, it was right when my baby's head was starting to come through and your opening is stretched (I had NO IDEA that contractions opened up your cervix but not your vaginal opening. That all has to stretch to accommodate baby... OMG) Fortunately I only pushed for like 20 minutes, and the shoulders were so much easier than his head.
Your personality is literally the best thing on the planet. 😂 I’m also pretty modest and while I’m not pregnant yet, I’m already mentally preparing myself for everyone having a nice look at my flower the whole time lmao.
I love watching these videos and hearing everyone’s labor and delivery stories. Everyone’s experiences are so different! When I was in labor they had to give me the epidural twice! The first time the anesthesiologist said that there was no medicine going through, so she had to do the whole process over again. So she tried a second time and it still didn’t work completely. I was just barely numb on my right side. They had also asked if I wanted a mirror or to feel my baby’s head. I said, ”nooooo, thank you.” He came out in three pushes, thank goodness!
I'm just about 33 weeks and living for your videos! I need these kinds of videos to be prepared, so I thank you!! I recommend your channel to all pregnant ladies 😁
My daughter was born a couple of weeks after Jackson and I've been binge-watching your videos since then. I absolutely love your channel! Your ditl vlogs make me so excited to see how my daughter will grow up. And it's nice to watch someone going through the newborn stage at the same time as us. Thanks for the videos! I'd love to see a 3-6 months essentials video if you have the time!
I feel like I've been watching so many videos about birth, and actually general sex ed the past few months, nothing is TMI anymore 😅 Waiting my first in the beginning of April, so this video is perfect for me atm, even though, as you said, there might be things you didn't experience that I might. But watching videos like this one makes me feel a lot more prepared!
@@autumnwilder9437 I've watched one or two, but I feel like it helps me prepare! 😄 And if something's weird I can always think "well, that's in the states, we don't do things like that here in Finland" 😁
Same! I'm due May 26 and this is my favorite mom channel because she's not afraid to talk about the nasty stuff. I even follow an obgyn's channel and I feel like kayla is more descriptive than the doctor 🤣
Baby girl is due next month! Love this video! Thanks for mentally preparing for everything that happens before and after birth! Discovered your channel when I first fell pregnant and I can’t thank you enough for how real you’ve been through your pregnancies, labour, post partum and every day life 💖
I love how real and open you are! I’m due in three weeks and I’ve been following you for most of my pregnancy. You have helped me prepare so much! Thank youuuu!!!!
I had 2 natural labors and it wasn't that bad except for the ring of fire. With this baby boy I had horrible back labor. I went for 8hrs before I broke down and got the epidural. It was the BEST thing! It was done so fast. When it came time to push they wanted me to practice since I couldn't feel anything. Well I pushed and he was almost out with the practice push. The doctor's face was priceless. She yelled stop we're not ready yet! Lol But he is so worth it. I'd do it again just to have him.
One thing I was super thankful for. I had a c section and I was in a LOT of pain during the surgery and I was also having a mini panic attack. The anesthesiologist told my husband to take a video of them pulling out my son and I was telling my husband I don't care don't bother with it etc etc because I was so disconnected. Thank the lord the doctor basically forced my husband to get up and take the video because I watch his birth ALL the time. They also forced me to hold baby across my chest as they were stitching me back up and I didn't want it at all but I'm so glad they did because I have pictures of us all together immediately after his birth and I cherish them so much. Moral of the story - just let the doctors and nurses do what they do lol
I wasn't offered a mirror at either of my deliveries and I'm so glad. The second hospital had oddly reflective ceiling tiles and I avoided looking up while I was pushing. That's the last thing I want to see. Just get this kid out of me. They told me to try peeing right after he was born and it wasn't happening. They said I had to pee by a certain time or they would have to cath me. I didn't have that issue with my first but girl I could not pee. I was so stressed about it. Finally got a tiny bit of pee out right before the deadline and then a couple hours later I'm pretty sure I peed a gallon and it was such a relief. I don't even remember delivering my placenta this time. I have a tiny push to deliver it with my older kid, but this time I have no clue when it happened. My hemorrhoids this time were AWFUL even though my labor was so much shorter and easier than my first. It was torture. It felt like a head of cauliflower down there. Ugh. The nurses definitely never looked at them though - how odd. My first epidural didn't work. Luckily this one did, but it took awhile. Epidurals (when they work) are actual heaven.
I’m due in may with baby #3. My youngest just turned 2 and I can’t believe how much of this stuff I’ve already forgotten about. So many awkward moments to look forward to 😂
Hey, well about the after contractions: 1st time delivery not many feel it or barely feel them, but the more babies u get the more painful it gets. Nurses did warn me about that and it's definitely true in my case. I already have 3 kids and 4th one due this May... and yes I am nervous! Thanks for sharing. Love from Belgium xx
Honestly so many people have channels about pregnancy and post partum but your videos are the ones I always make sure I watch religiously. It's my first pregnancy and we tried for so long that I thought I knew it all....... I didn't haha.
Had my my first baby 3 weeks ago this is all very true, but everything is definitely worth it. All the discomfort and pain is just temporarily 😌 us moms go through so much when giving birth I give lots of props to any mom out there 💓
I’m from a small city in Estonia and in my hospital an epidural is not even an option. Definitely thought I was gonna die!! Also had a 2nd degree tear and FELT EVERY STITCH!! Watching birth stories where an epidural is used feels like heaven :D
Thanks for all you do Kayla! I always love your videos. I used to watch your videos in the summer to prepare for labor and delivery and they're so real and helpful. Now I watch them again and chuckle of how relatable it is now. I had my baby girl 01/09/20 💕 she's already going to be a month soon!
My epidural semi- failed. The doctor poked me 5 times until he he got it right and I was still feeling pressure pain that brought me to tears. The had to give me fentanyl too which made my pushing take forever.
You have pretty strong contractions for the first week of nursing also... nursing helps contract your uterus back down to normal size... Nursing releases melatonin. So if your get super tired while feeding your baby, thats why.
I’m so glad that you found it also weird when they made you touch your baby’s head during delivery! It freaked me out and didn’t encourage me at all...
Yes I definitely had a failed epidural, my legs were completely numb, but I could still feel all my contractions almost at full strength and when it came to pushing, I felt absolutely everything when my daughter came out. It was probably a blessing in disguise because I was able to push her out in 15 minutes.
BreAnna Neubauer oh my goodness! Yea you’ll definitely push them out faster when you can feel it - with Riley I pushed for like 2 hours and I was exhausted bc I couldn’t feel anything - but props to you for getting through that pain! You’re a super mama for sure!
You are so funny with your explanations! You can laugh about your experience, now that the worst is behind you. Your doing a great job Mom! God bless you ❤
It is interesting how different the UK is from America. I feel like they don't seem to respect your decisions (the mirror, putting your hand on the head). I got asked if I wanted certain things but they never went against my wishes.
I gave birth to my daughter with no epidural. The ring of fire was the worst pain I have ever felt but for me it was only a few seconds because then she was out. The reason why I was able to give birth without the epidural was because my husband encouraged me not to get it and was there reminding me why I didn't want it in the first place. Was so worth the pain because hearing your babies first cry is absolutely amazing.
I love your videos!! I hope that you and baby Jackson are doing better🥰 I'm due next month and I'm terrified!! You're awesome, Kayla!! Keep the videos coming please!
I’m a FTM and seriously debating on natural or epidural. I heard the healing is better without EPI and you’re able to control your body more and also baby isn’t effected by epidural. Vs with epidural I hear a lot of people having a more peaceful birth and feeling relaxed and being able to enjoy the process and enjoy being able to focus on your baby. With this being my first pregnancy I’ve dealt with a lot of discomfort already and almost going into early labor. Not sure what I want to do but I also don’t want to make a decision too late
Thank you for this video! I gave birth to my first in October and completely forgot half of the things in this video. My labor was so fast that I didn't get an epidural. Blessing and a curse!
I agree that having docs and nurses check down there is so so uncomfortable.. Specially in my country where they don't allow anyone accompany you inside the room.. I hated it..
Deejay SlowMotion They don’t?! Omg that must be so scary? I HATE stuff like that and the only thing that would make it worse is beeing left alone with strangers while doing it
flipped me over like a pancake!! LOOOOLLL oooohhh I hope I can have a positive attitude and be able to laugh about it like you if stuff like that happens to me!
My horror story was that when I was pushing they decided to let in my in-laws all a sudden. I was yelling at the nurses and was mortified. Did not need that stress and was crying
Kate I told them no visitors and they didn’t listen to me. I could care less about everything being exposed to the doctors and nurses, but I have to see my in-laws for the rest of my life!
@@LagunaBeachGirlx5 maybe i'll make a "no visitors!!" Sign and take it with me to tape to my door 😂😂 completely agree! I guess we just won't tell anyone when i do go into labor, that way we have no surprises! 😬
My mother came in while I was on my knees hanging over the bed grunting and screaming because I wasn't allowed to push yet... I yelled "geeet ouuut" to my mother in the most demonic voice. Make a NO visitors sign. Do it.
@@kayleighharrel6678 🤣 sounds like something i would do! Unfortunately it's looking like i might have to get a csection now that he's moved positioning into being more tranverse, so i'll see if it becomes a non-issue, at least i know they won't let anybody walk into the OR!
Thank you so much for the info. This is my first pregnancy and I don't know what to expect. I am currently 36 weeks. I am trying to prepare myself mentally and physically. P.s. I love your videos they been helpful :)
Omg this time my butt hurt after labor it’s been a month and still struggling with it.. I have 5 kids and this is the first time it hurts after this long.. 😐😐😣 Good look to all you mammas.. 😁
I forgot about the ring of fire! It's like a very bad burning sensation! I had two very fast natural births. And I am pretty sure In april it will be my third 100% natural birth 😊
If this isn’t the truth idk what is! Soo many things people don’t talk about but definitely happen! Thanks Kayla for bringing light to it all, because childbirth is not all that glamorous 🤣
I don't have a epidural during the birth of my daughter, but I can't really remember the "ring of fire"... When everything hurts all the way, it's difficult to notice the exact moment. But the contradiction the hours before pushing were worse!
Oh my gosh watching this video made me crack up 🤣. It also made me super terrified as well. 😭 My due date is in 8 weeks. I love how much you keep it real though. I need to get over my anxiety with everyone seeing my vagina.
This is funny but true! With my daughter who I delivered almost 3 weeks ago, I delivered in a bikini top and after she was born and I was nursing I was completely naked, lol. Keep in mind I work at the same hospital I delivered at on Labor and Delivery 🤦🏽♀️. I was induced and was going unmedicated and made it to 9 cm but then it took too long to get to 10 so I got the epidural at 9 cm, it took the edge off but I had the most intense pressure with pushing and I screamed when I got the epidural because I was so much pain. I enjoyed the entire experience!
The tube thing in the epidural is called a catheter, and yes it's basically a teeny flexible plastic tube. :) In other fun news, sometimes medications can confuse your bladder and they will make sure you can pee after surgery too (or they'll catheterize you).
I only had two people in my room the whole time right until I left the hospital (my midwife and a lactation consultant). I’m surprised so many people were in your room.
I had atleast 3 midwives/nurses. And then the dr. There was also people constantly coming in to talk to my dr. It was absolutely awful. Especially because the way the room was set up. My lady parts were facing the door. Mortifying
I’m sooo nervous to get an epidural! 😅 Lol I have s heart condition so I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to have a c section and the thing I’m most nervous for is the epidural!!!
I'm due with my first tomorrow, and still struggling with dreading all things delivery, but being soooo over being pregnant and just wanting to get it all over with!
Hey Kayla, I wanted to ask whether you shaved/waxed down there or just went au natural. I’ve been reading up on how it’s better not to as there are risks of infection?
Another horror story was that they had me start pushing for awhile, then all a sudden they tell me to stop pushing because they need to wait for the doctor. So for 20 minutes I was just laying there feeling like I had to push but couldn’t.
I had a natural birth, and I’d say that the ring of fire was the worst part of my delivery.(I wanted to give up) It felt like my vagina was on fire, but once the head was out I felt relief right away!
3 weeks pp, and my epidural did not work! I had several doses administered and nothing worked not even iv pain meds. I also had bad contractions 60 seconds apart for HOURS! lol definitely didn't want another baby for about 2 weeks. Birth is hard! Love your videos!
I am 27 weeks pregnant, and I am absolutely horrified about the mirror story. My spouse and I do NOT want to see that. I will have to add this to my birth plan: no mirror unless you want to get slapped.
The stomach pushing is to prevent internal bleeding! I remember that from my first responder course- once the placenta drops away, there's a lot of blood vessels that need to finish closing up, so putting pressure on the stomach and rubbing it helps prevent or stop further bleeding. Uncomfortable, but probably necessary Also have no idea why I'm here, I'm a trans man with endometriosis who doesn't want kids and is probably not able to have them anyways, but hey, education is beneficial no matter what it's about, right? Might help me later out if anyone I know ever gives birth
I’m 36 weeks this Friday, I’m getting nervous becuz this is my 2nd pregnancy but will be my first vaginal birth, my first pregnancy was an emergency csection!
I gave birth to my miracle baby girl Oct 30th 2019 after 18 years of trying to conceive and they also put my hand on baby's head! I was lie whaaaat noooo!!! lol Weird feeling, I'll never forget! When you told the part about the mirror I laughed so much! LOL I'm so happy that it didn't happen to me LOL
After having my baby boy naturally with no medication the pre birth pains were like nothing afterwards. They don't ever talk to you about epidural here in Ghana. The ring of 🔥 encourages you to push the head out because you don't want to keep feeling the pain when the head gets out.
About to go through my second labor and delivery in may, one thing that was different that I wasn't expecting was that they didn't allow me to deliver my own placenta. Honestly it was a little traumatic, they ripped it out right after she was born and didn't pull out the whole thing in one piece. The doctor had to go fishing inside of me for the rest of it, let's just say that wasn't the most comfortable process with my epidural completely worn off halfway through pushing 😂😂
Hi Kayla!! Thanks for all your videos! I’m a FTM and your videos are all informative and real! Btw: I was wondering what were you using as your vlogging camera so I checked the link you provided and I swear I had to click it several times because it looks like you put the chicco bottle sterilizer instead of your vlogging camera 😂😂
Thankfully I didn’t have a mirror and they didn’t have me feel my baby as she came out and they didn’t double check me for hemroids. I was induced at 41wks. I wanted a natural birth and felt confident in doing so. Well the pitocin raged hell on my contractions! I reached 6cm and felt like I was going to pass out from the pain. Thankfully we managed to get an epidural in. But no sooner did they do that, I went straight to 10cm and was ready to push. I had a “partial” epidural; as in it didn’t work fully like it was supposed to. I could feel some pain on the right side of my pelvis and could feel everything but just not the rest of the pain. It was actually pretty cool since hearing that epidurals are supposed to fully numb you...I could feel the contractions coming on and then end but just not the horrible pain. The ring of fire for me just felt like someone was pulling my va-jay as far as it could. I thought it was going to tear any second then she came out...I wish all epidurals could be like what I had, no pain but can feel everything else. My little girl is our first and even tho it hurt horribly, I’d still give natural birth a shot with the next child, as long as I don’t get pitocin lol question for those that have had vaginal delivery...when you experienced gas in postpartum, did it feel like horrible labor contractions when the gas was moving through your system for the first few months?
They couldn’t monitor my contractions properly due to the fact that I fell at 38 weeks and was induced at 39 because the pain worsened and gave me irritability contractions. But while I was getting administered pitocin and having the back contractions they gave me an epidural and it was sooo painful it sucked! 😭 but once they got it in I felt amazing haha! Thank goodness for the epidural!
I had my baby girl on the 20th of December, the peeing thing in front of the nurse... they at least let me do that in the recovery room. However it took me almost 8 hours after delivery until I was actually able to. The nurse kept telling me, if I didnt pee soon they would put a catheter in me.. so glad I peed on my own lol
I did have to get a catheter after my son was born. Honestly, it didn't feel great, but it was a relief because my bladder was so full and I absolutely could not pee. I guess everything was just so swollen that the muscles wouldn't relax? File that under things I didn't expect about childbirth 😂
Last year I had my second daughter and had the opportunity to control the dose of epidural myself. I try to be strong and want to see how strong the pain can get and oh boy after 8cm I couldn't take it anymore. I starting pressing that button so the dose can start coming😂🤣. The after birth contractions were so bad too I had to take medicine for a month.

I know that it's supposed to look like clear just like water but still I mean I wear liners and they're always getting fluid on them sometimes it looks clear and sometimes more yellowish but if my water breaks I just really hope that at that moment I'll be able to distinguish the difference.
I don’t like the fact that they brought the mirror..... there’s so much going on as it is that would stress me out and make me angry.

GirlyPanache oh I’m so glad! Yes! He’s been doing better thankfully! It makes my heart so happy too when he smiles 😊😊
Oh I was thinking the same thing! Go you Kayla for your patience and yay for little Jackson for your progress and being so darn cute!
I love how you described the lack of privacy! 😂 20 weeks to go here, this was definitely helpful!
I’m starting fertility treatments in less then 30 days 🤞I hope I get blessed with a beautiful child! 🥰
Good luck!! I just gave birth to my IVF baby 🥰
Shannon - eatupmyfreetime congrats 😊 thank you!
Good luck 💕
Good luck! How is it going?
You look beautiful in this video. That cozy shirt is a pretty colour on you.
Bianca L awww thank you lady! You made my day! 💕
Agreed , I’m more afraid of the epidural than the birthing
It’s disturbing how much they violated your autonomy with forcing the mirror and making you touch the head. Thank goodness you can laugh about it now, but the field of gynecology really still has work to do in regards to patient autonomy and respect.
Currently 27 weeks with my first! Really appreciate all these postpartum videos.
Ugh....I now understand why women really rule the world. ;)
I’m currently 38 weeks pregnant and this video was perfect! Thanks for sharing 💗💗💗💗
MomLifewithKay yay!! Glad you liked it! Good luck mama! You’re so close! Wishing you the best labor ever ❤️❤️
38 weeks too!! 💜
37 weeks this friday 🥰🥰🥰
i’m 37 weeks rn!
Rethinking letting my mother in the delivery room when that day comes 😂 she don’t need to see that
Your personality is literally the best thing on the planet. 😂 I’m also pretty modest and while I’m not pregnant yet, I’m already mentally preparing myself for everyone having a nice look at my flower the whole time lmao.
I'm 31 weeks (first baby) and so thankful for your channel! Thank you for helping me feel a little more prepared! 💗
I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my first boy. You're videos are so helpful and encouraging! Thank you for sharing your experiences.
I feel like I've been watching so many videos about birth, and actually general sex ed the past few months, nothing is TMI anymore 😅
Waiting my first in the beginning of April, so this video is perfect for me atm, even though, as you said, there might be things you didn't experience that I might. But watching videos like this one makes me feel a lot more prepared!
Tova Vikström when I was pregnant with my first I did the mistake of watching birth vlogs... I know not to do that this round 😂
@@autumnwilder9437 I've watched one or two, but I feel like it helps me prepare! 😄 And if something's weird I can always think "well, that's in the states, we don't do things like that here in Finland" 😁
I’m halfway there to giving birth to my first! I always love watching your videos they are helpful for entertaining!
Me too! Best of luck!
Same! I'm due May 26 and this is my favorite mom channel because she's not afraid to talk about the nasty stuff. I even follow an obgyn's channel and I feel like kayla is more descriptive than the doctor 🤣
xchurricane thank you! You too! ❤️
Tiffany Grigg I follow a couple too! It’s just better coming from a mom!
37 weeks and 4 days over here🙋🏻♀️ your videos have been so helpful these past few weeks!! 💕 best wishes to you and your baby 👶
Honestly so many people have channels about pregnancy and post partum but your videos are the ones I always make sure I watch religiously. It's my first pregnancy and we tried for so long that I thought I knew it all....... I didn't haha.
i have 3 more weeks till i give birth to my babygirl and i really need this video i have been binge watching your channel for the past couple of weeks
Mama Sleepy omg so so close! Best of luck on your labor and delivery mama! I promise it’s all worth it once you have your baby girl in your arms! ❤️❤️
Kayla Buell thank you 💗💗💗
I have watched your videos all through my pregnancy. I have 7 weeks to go. Your videos has helped in preparing me
Had my my first baby 3 weeks ago this is all very true, but everything is definitely worth it.
Love how real you are in these types of videos Kayla!!
Thank you so much!! I am terrified but your videos keep me sane!!! Jackson and Riley are so lucky to have you, They are both so beautiful :)
9 weeks and 3 days to go ... I’ve honestly been watching your videos religiously... totally terrified xx
Definitely needed to watch this lol I’m almost 38 weeks now and I’m ready to do this
I'm 37 weeks with #3 and going in Monday to be induced. I had a sweep yesterday and left thinking omg 😂
This refreshed me even more 😬❤
Wishing you a healthy, fast delivery 💕
I've had nightmares about this happening to me!! I keep telling my husband he needs to be very clear when we get there that we are having NO visitors!
I love your videos! I am not pregnant but I am planning to be in the next five years or so, so I appricate these so much
Thank you Kayla for helping me feel more prepared- currently 32 weeks!!
A mirror?! Good lord 😂 I’m not a parent but I love watching your videos and learning from your experiences ❤️ xo
Due tomorrow with my first and I really appreciate your honesty. I am also a very modest person, so the mirror would also make me uncomfortable.
Where is your sweater from? Is so pretty
Old Navy
Thank you so much for the info. This is my first pregnancy and I don't know what to expect. I am currently 36 weeks. I am trying to prepare myself mentally and physically. P.s. I love your videos they been helpful :)
Omg this time my butt hurt after labor it’s been a month and still struggling with it.. I have 5 kids and this is the first time it hurts after this long.. 😐😐😣
Good look to all you mammas.. 😁
Blessed Mommy oh no!! Hope you start to feel better soon! I know how painful that is so I feel ya! And 5 kids?! You’re a freaking rockstar! 🙌🏼❤️
Great video!!! I always love your honesty 😘
Congrats for your baby! With the second child the contractions are stronger than the first. You are so funny!
The tube thing in the epidural is called a catheter, and yes it's basically a teeny flexible plastic tube. :)
In other fun news, sometimes medications can confuse your bladder and they will make sure you can pee after surgery too (or they'll catheterize you).
Mortifying
Hi...can u do a video on postpartum eating schedule just after child birth?
Uncomfortable, but probably necessary
Also have no idea why I'm here, I'm a trans man with endometriosis who doesn't want kids and is probably not able to have them anyways, but hey, education is beneficial no matter what it's about, right? Might help me later out if anyone I know ever gives birth
I’m 36 weeks this Friday, I’m getting nervous becuz this is my 2nd pregnancy but will be my first vaginal birth, my first pregnancy was an emergency csection!
Fatima Guadalupe that’s exciting, are you having a boy or girl? I’m having my 3rd boy! My first pregnancy was twin boys!
Girl I love your openness 😅 This is making me thankful I was so groggy after my first so I honestly do not remember much lol
My baby girl is due in 5 weeks and this video was so helpful! First time mom here and kinda freaking out about birth 😅
Very informative ❤️
What’s your nail Colour?
After having my baby boy naturally with no medication the pre birth pains were like nothing afterwards. They don't ever talk to you about epidural here in Ghana. The ring of 🔥 encourages you to push the head out because you don't want to keep feeling the pain when the head gets out.
im on my 30weeks and good thing I bumped into your channel 😍
Omg me too it was the worst lol she threaten me with a catheter in hopes it would make me pee which I eventually did haha
