One thing for certain is UNWRA is not a neutral party and act as a type of shadow government taking on many of the responsibilities of an elected government. Hamas would have been totally reliant on UNWRA for everything related to caring for its citizens. Over the last 16 years, it’s clear Hamas learned nothing about governance because UNWRA did it all for them.
Makes me think of the parent who wants his kids to do well in school and is so protective, they end up doing everything for their kids, including homework and tolerating the most outrageous behaviors. The kids ends up with good grades, but never learned anything, becoming totally dependent on their parents, having no sense of accountability.
It’s been 75 years since some Palestinians were displaced, after they started and lost the war in 1948. By now, they should have learned to be self sufficient without reliance on UNWRA for basic governance functions. But they aren't and they have no one to blame but themselves.

The report said 23% of Unrwa’s male employees-the agency has a total staff of 12,000 in Gaza-took active part in the Hamas organization’s military or political framework, a higher percentage than the average of 15% for adult males in Gaza.
The information in the Israeli intelligence reports is based on sensitive signals intelligence as well as cellphone tracking data, interrogations of captured Hamas gunmen and documents recovered from dead terrorists.

I did travel in Muslim countries and did challenge the local dress code etc.
The people were amazing I have to say.
No judgement, beyond the personal interest and curiosity about my being different.
No real racism.
Gracious hospitality and acceptance is what I remember very well.
They took no offence at my blue workers singlet etc. Or my bare feet for 3 months !!
I left impressed.
I stayed one night on a 100% Muslim island.
I was stranded.
A man took me to his house and I had dinner with him and his wife, and daughter.
I could not stay there and had to find my own way, roughing it in very cold conditions.
Was a hard night, but I knew it was right.
I always remember the love from those people, and that they had standards, of which I fully appreciated and admired.
Next day I attended the mosque.
Only men there.
Afterwards we all talked. I had my video camera on a tripod at the entry.
They were naturally interested or concerned with who I was, where I had come from, etc.
Of course they asked me about the camera. Why the camera ?
I am a filmographer, amongst other things.
A documenter of Life.
Not for UA-cam or Facebook, but for posterity. For History, and insight.
Not for any nefarious or selfish purpose.
We had good philosophical conversations and it was memorable.
Also funny since I kept the prayer going for much longer than usual.

Catholic, Pentecostal, Potter's House, Hippy American Indian Paganistic culture, Anglican, Baptist, etc.
It's interesting to discuss issues with pastors, priests, preachers, or officials of the hierarchy.
Also the people.
The Muslim Faith is now rising because of Gaza. The power and grace of those people is inspiring. It is a divine inspiration.
It is a very faith based culture which is beaming out the power of Allah, across the globe.
Bringing us all to contemplate the serious things, and the spiritual things,
of life.
It's as if the best way for the masses, to support Palestine, is to
simply become Palestinian.
Investigate their faith.
Islam
The Quran.
Become a Muslim, or at least well versed in their faith and 'God'.
As people are martyred their spirits go out into the world and they rally the masses to become them. To become Muslim.
To embrace and empower the following of Allah.
This from someone you might think is "average".
Goodness must prevail.
Be wary of others but be true to yourself.
Not worried, but pleasant enough.
