    researched the video and this time I got it all. the first time I'm skipped the part about the review of all the pens and came back on with the two pens at the end .this time it makes more sense.

    First of all, Merry Christmas Ruth! Interestingly, I have purchased Lamy 2000 in the summer this year when I was visiting Warsaw for scientific reasons. Anyway, I got it but for a while a was on the fences deciding if I really like it or not. I have in F which actually reminiscences italic to some extent and as many Lamy 2000 has it 'sweet spot'. Once I learned how to used it and what ink works the best for me with this pan , I felt in love and it become my ultimate pen of 2016 and its built quality is perfect for my job I do in the lab. The italic feel of the nib helps to create crisp sharp lines so my writing looks more dynamic. I got one pen from John Twiss this year too and I absolutely adore it. Looks great, but the JoWo nib it has (touched by John Sorowka, I believe) is simply amazing. I never had any problem with starting or skipping...nothing. Ready to work every time. I am planning to as John to make me another pen earlier next year. TWSBIs I had highs and lows with them this year, but still I think these are great looking and writing pens for money.

      TheClumsy Penman I'm glad you like your pens too. I know what you mean about the Italic feel on the 2000 it exists on the EF too. I wonder what will come our way in 2017.

    Iv'e just bought a Lamy 2000 from Write Here ,Shrewsbury and I keep picking it up and writing with it for the pleasure of putting the cap back on . It really is as near as damn it , perfect . Any pen that has a permanent place in the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art has to have something going for it .

    Thanks for sharing your top 5! Great to see a woman do pen reviews on You Tube! I have 4 of your top 5 (not the Twiss) I love them all was well. Do you have any Visconti or Aurora pens? Two of those make my top 5. Happy Holidays and a have a great new year. I'm looking forward to more of your videos.

      J Engelkirk thank you. I haven't tried Aurora brand yet maybe they will come my way in 2017. I have reviewed a Visconti opera but hoping to try the homo sapiens in the new year.

    I find it really interesting that you started out with a pelican m200! Now that you have a lot more experience how would you compare it to a m400?

  • @alexmood6407

    Personally I don't see the logic in why would a colourful pen have more "personality" than a black one. I can't use the Lamy 2000 because those teeth on the o-ring bother me. But it is an interesting pen. It is more rooted in Lamy 27 than Lamy cares to admit, with the same nib, feed, filling system and overall silhouette. But it was brilliantly repackaged by Muller. And the links to Braun design and Ulm school of design are fascinating. It influenced Apple design and many others, that's why this pen still looks so modern.

    Happy Christmas (according to John Lennon) to you and your family. Thanks for the pen reviews. Is the UK only in one time zone? I like how your prounouce "video" as two syllables and not three.

    Well very nice talk but where was the list of five pens? You showed one pin that didn't make it, will what ones did? . I am very confused.

    I am deciding which pen to buy between Pilot custom 74 sf and Platinum 3774 century sf
    which one of these pen would u recommend or whats your opinion on these 2 pens?

    • @RuthHansonThePenandInkwell
      @RuthHansonThePenandInkwell  7 років тому

      zeppelin lai two nice pens ... my preference is the custom 74 the nib is softer on it however the 3776 is cheaper and a good pen for the money

    • @zeppelinlai7995
      @zeppelinlai7995 7 років тому

      thanks for the advice~its still so hard to determine which one to purchase...
      both pens have similar price in my region thats why it is so hard to make decision out of these 2 pens...

    • @bookofb2098
      @bookofb2098 7 років тому

      The 74 seems to have a very springy nib while the 3776 is a very light pen and a very distinct feedback. Is there a way you can try before you buy?

    • @zeppelinlai7995
      @zeppelinlai7995 7 років тому +1

      i have already purchase the 3776 with sf nib...the designs of 3776 attracts me more...
      and i would like to have my pen to have some feedback rather than all smooth...
      btw...thanks for recommendation...have a nice day :)

      zeppelin lai glad you liked it. I'm selling my 3776 and will definitely try out the 74 before buying.
