Here are 5 inks that I have enjoyed in 2016. In no particular order ...

Thank you for your work! For me.. blues! Akkerman no. 5 SHOCKING Blue, Diamine Majestic Blue, Visconti Blue, And.. Diamine Oxblood, DeAtramentis Aubergine, Irosizuku Asa Gao and Kon Peki. I could live with just these.. throw Sailor Jentle Black in just in case! Frank from Boulder, Colorado
Waterman Violet is one of my absolute favorites too. It and Graf von Faber Castell Moss Green are my go-to inks.

I found Majestic Blue in 2016 and it was an amazing discover! I love to ink my pen with that gorgeous blue! I think that ink got me into the search of more sheeny inks! 😁
Hope for this 2017 to test the Fire & Ice... got my eye!

I very much enjoy your reviews. I would be interested in your top inks in different color groups, and I look forward to your Robert Oster Signature ink reviews. They're at the top of my list of inks to try in 2017.

About the Diamine Majestic Blue: on good paper (e.g., Rhodia et al) it has a marvelous red sheen. You don't see this on more absorbent papers, but it's absolutely fabulous on the right paper, especially with a stub nib. I'm a little surprised that you didn't mention it, or did you not notice it?
David Knapp I haven't noticed it from my EF nibs ... I will have to try something broader to find this.
Thanks for your opinion. Are your choices influenced by your preference for finer nibs? BTW, glad to see Waterman made your list. Considering their limited selection, their Violet, Blue (Serenity/Florida) and Brown (Absolute/Havana) inks are staples. Best of luck with your 2017 resolutions.
Kevin Wadden yes my choices would always be influenced by those that look good in my finer nibs.

You've got to give the new Akkerman ink a try! Especially their blue-black IG ink which has the most beautiful shading. It lays down a very beautiful blue/turquoise then turns into a Very dark black.
Jafar Uddin I will they are just not for sale in the UK yet.
Oh that's a bummer =/ They aren't available here in Southeast asia either, I had to order some directly from them. Spent about 30 bucks total including shipping but my oh my was it worth it! This ink somehow tames my Visconti 1.3mm stub so well! I can write on receipts without bleedthrough and that's honestly unheard of. Didn't think IG could get MUCH better than KWZ offerings!
I found KWZ Honey to be quite dry writing in my wet pens.
These are great, please keep making them in 2017.

Thanks for these recommendations. I was hoping to expand my ink horizon this year and I think these 5 will be a great starting point. The KWZ menthol green. That one looks almost turquoise to me on my computer screen. Is it turquoise? In any event I will like to try it. I would love to see your recommendations on different colors, like fave blue blacks, blues etc. I enjoy your reviews.
Max Dog it has more of a green tone than a Turquoise
I am just starting to explore the world of blue-black inks. I know you love blues and are not so fond of blacks. Do you have any favorite blue-blacks that you could recommend? I am particularly interested in ones that look black with a hint of blue. SO many blue-blacks seem to be more gray than black or blue. Thank you!
Chuck Eckerson ah that is a challenging one blue blacks do 8ndeed either tend to be grey looking or end up a little teal looking which are my favourites. My favourites are Noodles Navy, Waterman Blue Black and Cult pens deep dark blue

I like majestic blue but its not suitable for daily use, it smears very easily .Are there any inks that are similar to majestic blue ? I like using diluted PR electric dc blue in its place.
Do a blue ink group review please.
Mrigank sinha I will loom at a blue group it's absolutely my favourite. I will give some thought to similar inks to majestic blue also.
Do purepens own a shop that you can visit or are they purely an online retailer? I have ordered from them before and if they have a shop you can visit I would gladly go and take a look.
Kookie they are predominantly only but they are happy for visitors if you let them know you're coming.

For anyone here interested only in ink reviews and recommendations, the babbling stops at 3:28
Well, there's nothing wrong about that, it just means that my comment is not for you.
My comment, as stated, is for people who came for ink knowledge, and might feel dissuaded to finish looking at the video because they have to sit through 3 and a half minutes to start to hear about what they came for. So instead of them clicking away, they just go to 3:28.
Some people, myself included, find that helpful, and look for timestamp comments, and some youtubers just put an annotation in the video, to let people know when the introduction ends and they start talking about the title topic.

I like Diamine Majestic blue , it does sheen red quite a bit though so if where you work the ink police are particularly miserable that's a consideration Thanks good video
I should give a little *PSA about KWZ Honey:* *Do not use it in TWSBI pens* it has a reputation for degrading the plastic
