Hey there, it's been a while since I messed with this. But I believe most everything happens on the laptop. Some reason UA-cam wouldn’t let me edit my previous post. I wanted to add I have the 2022 Mark one loaded with the handling package if any of this makes any difference. I asked if this would work or if it was needed for the B&O upgraded Soundsystem.
I imagine you can still do it, although I'm not certain if it would be the exact same code change, since you have a different year model and equipment.
by doing this doesnt impact the performance of the 3.5 speakers by playing full range? wouldnt this damage the speakers since it will be playing low frequencies?
You could, especially if you are on the stock factory speakers as those are rather cheap. I upgraded mine to infinity which can handle much more power and you could also use the capacitor they include to limit it, but I never did have any issues. Take care.
Off topic slightly... I have a 2019 I got apim and all other associated parts off ebay and did a 4" base model to 8" premium screen upgrade. Got all the buttons working with forscan. My audio isn't as loud as it was before. New bezel had Shaker on it. Not sure if I need to change anything with forscan.
I'm not 100% sure if FORScan can deal with this entirely by itself. It probably can, but I'm not certain. I do remember reading somewhere on a forum that sometimes for things like this you have to take it to the dealer and they can activate it and that's all there is to it, but maybe that's the same thing you've already tried. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Do you know if using forscan turns off bass roll off as well as resetting factory EQ? Just did it in my 19 Mustang after replacing door speakers and the speakers do sound a little better, but wanted to hook up powered sub to the rear speakers and heard bass roll off needs to be turned off. Tons of different answers out there on all the forums. Thanks, and really like the Infinity speakers.
I'm almost certain you can turn that off with Forscan as well. I never got around to adding a sub to mine to check further into it. Sorry I can't help you with the exact code or numbers to change.
Loved the video. I just purchased a 2016 GT350. The audio stinks (however the audio from the tail pipes is spectacular)! Any thoughts if the GT350 would benefit from the same changes?
Yes, those 350's have a great sound! I imagine the speaker settings would help you too. You would probably need to get on a forum to see if you could verify what the code was for your year and model, I think that's the only part that really changes. Good luck with it.
Sorry, one more question. I know there are many forums and I am a part of one Mustang one already. Is there one in particular that you consider your go to place.
I typically find a lot of good info here: www.mustang6g.com/forums/ Just have to search or post if you don't find what you're looking for, but I've usually found what I needed.
Hey Ray, I know you’ve gotten a lot of questions but I have a 2019 Taurus SHO and I was talk by a couple others they messed with disabling their Sony DSP with forscan. I assume it’s comparing apples to oranges with your Ford, but did you guys simply disable the DSP? I think for my car it’s module ACIM or something and you change part of the sequence to “00” to disable Sony DSP. Thanks again!
I imagine it would be very similar and that's basically all we are doing here as well. If you can make a backup in order to restore if something went crazy, I'd suggest that. But otherwise it's just a matter of finding the right number to flip. Good luck with it, hope you get it worked out!
Oh no lol. Have you upgraded the speakers yet? I believe the setting is there to protect the cheap freaking factory speakers. They probably distort like crazy.
As of now, i have the 9 speaker system and im just changing the lower door and rear seat speakers. You think the upper door and tweeters would blow with this setting? I dont mind the mids and highs but the lows are terrible so i focused my speaker selection on that for now. Im probably gunna disconnect the center speaker also. Also since this is disabling the 'EQ' does that mean the infotainment EQ adjustments dont work anymore?
Hey Mike, the upper door speakers, tweeter and center channel are cheeeeeeeap! The lower door speakers are the best quality speaker that comes in the car, at least in my car. I don't know how much the stock speakers can handle, you can always try it and if they blow, it'll give you a good reason to replace, lol. If you change the setting I talked about in the video, you still get your low, mid, & high slider EQ settings on the head unit like normal. It just doesn't restrict the full range to the speakers any more and sounds way better. Let me know how the rear seat speaker replacement goes, that's next on my list too. I've just done everything in the front so far. You're right, lows are terrible, but changing this setting did manage to help, now my mirrors actually vibrate some, verses my ears bleeding from all the highs! You can check out my other video and see the difference in quality of those door speakers here: ua-cam.com/video/9LeXuZJb9ho/v-deo.html Consider subscribing if you feel like it, take it easy.
@raymondlamb could you see if the 2021 f150s without B&O radio System that has bass roll off can be disabled with forscan? I've tried forums but get nowhere and was going you could check it out. I've seen some posts that you can't flatten eq or disable bass roll off on 2020 f150s and newer. It would be greatly appreciated so I don't waste time and money.
I'm sorry I don't know the answer and can't help. They are changing the codes all the time for different vehicles, year models and options, so I'm not certain what might work in your case. Sorry couldn't help more.
Was the sub stock, did it come with the car? If so, it might be a different code, otherwise I'd think the same code my apply. Might depend on the year of the car too though, what year is your car? Good luck with it if you try it out.
I imagine it would, but I think the code you might need could be different. I've read articles where different year models with other options require a different code than what I used. Good luck with it if you try it. Thanks for watching!
Hey Ray! Thanks for the great video. I am in a bit of a different situation than you are in, I am just adding a 12" woofer to my trunk and was considering splicing into the rear speakers. I have an s550 with the stock 6 speaker setup. Do you think using FORScan or an LC2i converter will be necessary, or would it be ok to use a regular LOC converter? I'm not sure how much the factory bass roll-off will affect the subwoofer overall.
From what I understand a regular loc will work, but I'd still be concerned about the bass rolloff. Supposedly the lc2i solves this and outputs a clear bass signal, but I haven't tried it myself. Good luck with it!
@@RaymondLamb Thanks for your input! I agree, I am a little concerned about the roll off. Think I’m going to try the FORScan route (definitely the cheaper option). Appreciate the help and the super quick response!
With a sub and the same speaker set up do you think this is necessary? Could I just crank the treble all the way up on my EQ and adjust the bass through the subs given adjuster?
If you have a sub, you are in far better shape than I'm in and it might not be necessary. My biggest issue was after the speaker upgrade, I had almost no mids or lows and was not happy at all, so this helped bring some of that back. I still plan on adding a sub, but this helped until I get to that point.
@@RaymondLamb I’d recommend the cerwIn Vega spare tire sub. It’s pretty affordable with a built in amp just need to run wiring for $300. It also obviously goes where the spare tire is and does not take any trunk space. It also can still be put in with the spare still in
That’s a cool option, I’ll have to check that out. I’ve been looking at the JL Audio stealth box, but those things are super pricey, plus an amp and wiring kit.
Hey, that may work too, but I'm not sure, don't have experience with that part. I do know that there is another setting in FORScan that can disable the bass rolloff, but supposedly you don't want to do that if you don't have an aftermarket amp, which in my case I don't. That way it'll send the full signal straight to your custom amp and bypass the factory. In my case it just sent the full range through the factory amp and made everything sound sooooo much better. Hopefully get an amp and subwoofer down the road.
Please excuse my ignorance. I installed the same speakers along with the amp and stealth box and now my system sounds like 💩. I don’t understand what could be causing and what the possible solutions are. I watched your video but have also seen plug & play kits aimed at solving the sound issue. I’m not certain what’s the answer. My symptoms since install are my stealth box seems to reset to full bass each time I turn the car on/off. I also feel like the sound when playing music is the same as when I used to take a phone call using CarPlay. It’s like the sound is only being pushed to the center speaker and barely through the door speakers. I don’t understand what I should do and I’d be willing to pay someone for their time to do a video appointment with me to solve.
I wish I had a clear answer for you. I haven't dealt with adding a subwoofer to the car yet, so I don't know if that might have something to do with it. I do know that just adding the infinity speakers did improve the sound overall, even before I made the adjustments with FORScan. So I don't think that should be an issue. If you use the balance/fade setting on the headunit, can you slide it left and right and hear anything out of those speakers? Good luck with the troubleshooting, hope you get it worked out!
I don't 100% know for sure. I had the same issue when I upgraded to the infinity in the lower door, they sounded terrible. I swapped the stock speakers back in and left it alone. I never did try them again after changing the settings in Forscan, it might could help. Good luck with it!
Do you know if this setting would be the same in an explorer? I have a 22 explorer ST and I have that B&O crap and I have to zero out the factory amp to add an lc7i.
I think the same theory would apply, but I imagine the exact code or number you'd need to change would be different. With the newer year model and different vehicle you might want to see if you can get on a forum somewhere and verify. Good luck with it!!
I just swapped my OEM 6.5’s, which I believe are 25w, for 100w RMS Kickers. They are stupid quiet. In doing research, I found this video. I already have FORScan and the cable, as I had used it to change other things…. In doing this mod, did you have to return your car back to stock from an aftermarket tune or just go for it? When I enabled line lock on my V6, I had to return to stock tune first.
Sorry, I didn't see this, it was flagged for some reason. Sounds like you got it worked out already. You can send the people at FORScan a file and they can pick out the number you need and send it back to you. I was able to do this with mine as it was tuned also. You can also remove the tune, connect with FORScan and then add the tune back. FORScan will save the connection info and you can pick it from the list the next time, and not have to remove the tune each time. I've done it several times now with no issues. Hope you got the results you were after.
Hello, I have 2011 with Shaker 500. I installed new Alpine head unit, new rear speakers and new door speakers, OEM lower subs are still in place. At high volume now the sound is completely distorted. Would this also fix the distortion in 2011-2014?
Hey, I'm not certain if this fix will correct a distortion problem. My issues we with bass being cut out and it being almost nothing but highs, but it was crystal clear the entire time. I suppose if you found the right code to switch for your year model if couldn't hurt to try, as this would be an easy fix before you started looking for loose connections, etc. Good luck with it, hope you find the issue.
Is there a way to bypass factory amp through forscan? 2017 ford raptor with aftermarket amps and speakers after some time my volume knob is stuck on zero won’t go up nor down. Any suggestions?
Sorry, I don't know the answer to this one. I don't know if you could use a line output converter to do it, but I don't know if there is anything in forscan to bypass it entirely. Good luck with it!
Hello, is there any way to disable the rear speakers using fordscan? I need to disable them because they are making a very loud interference sound and I cant fix it, I already tried everything, from disconect the fake sound to disconnecting all the cables of the roof but didnt work, I need to fix this asap. My car is a GT350 and im from Spain, in my area there's no ford dealership and this car is very expensive and rare here, so I cant left it in some random workshop, I mean, this car is 150k+ euro here, its like a Lamborghini Huracán.
Sorry, I'm not certain you can turn them off completely with Forscan. I've only seen where you can make certain changes, but not disable completely. Not saying you can't do it, just that I haven't seen that as an option. Have you tried just unhooking the wires from inside the truck underneath the speaker? Still get the same problem? Good luck with it, hope you sort it out.
Excellent question, and I don't know for sure. I think that is possibly handled by the amp and what it's set to send to the speaker, but you might can find another setting somewhere that could change that if it's not built in to the amp itself. I'm sorry I don't know the answer to that one.
I can't say for certain, but dealers always look for any reason to deny something. I thought there was something about they had to prove that a mod or change caused the failure, but I'd hate to be in the position to prove it or fight with them to prove it. Nice thing about the FORScan is you can save a backup before you start and restore it if needed.
I'm not entirely sure with that part. You can definitely try it to see if it makes it better and if you notice anything worse, change the setting back. I would think it might help getting a better original signal to your upgraded parts, but since mine is all stock except the speakers, I can't swear to it.
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on a 2015, but the number you need to change is probably different. You might need to do some research to find the exact one you need to swap. The center channel I'm not sure if you can do, me personally I haven't seen anything about that one. Good luck with it!
Sorry, I don't know if there is one just for that, or if it's all rolled into one setting. I wish I could help, I found most of my code info from digging through Mustang Forums, you might find something there. Good Luck with it!
I imagine it would be. They all share the same software and hardware for the most part. You would probably have to find the specific code/number to change on yours though, as that probably is different. I'd look through some F-150 forums for the info, I bet you could find it. Good luck.
As far as I know, you can do this trick on all Ford vehicles that have these options. BUT, I believe the codes are different from vehicle to vehicle and even year models, so you'd have to try to track down the specific code for your application. Sorry I don't have all that info. Thanks for watching!
I had to search forums online to find the ones I needed for my year, make, model. I don't think there's a list or anything like that unfortunately. Wish I could help more.
Not sure just any dealer would do it, maybe if you had a friend that worked there or knew someone. I’m sure some would claim it might void part of a warranty since it’s changing what came stock from the factory, but you could always ask, couldn’t hurt.
@@RaymondLamb yeah I figured it will be more trouble than it's worth so I just ordered the adapter. Familiar with most brands diagnostic tools but do know most can't do much with fords so curious to see what a laptop and the software can do.

Blessings, thanks Ray.
@@RaymondLamb That is the forum I joined a while back. Thanks!
What device did you use to interface with the car?
Here is a link to what I purchased. Never had an issue with it. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083FML519/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@@RaymondLamb I actually tried it, it did seem louder but once you go too loud it sounds like shit. Lol.
You can check out my other video and see the difference in quality of those door speakers here: ua-cam.com/video/9LeXuZJb9ho/v-deo.html

Any idea the forscan code if I changed all my speakers and have amp/subs and amp for main speakers
Was the sub stock, did it come with the car? If so, it might be a different code, otherwise I'd think the same code my apply. Might depend on the year of the car too though, what year is your car? Good luck with it if you try it out.
i tried this with my 2016 lincoln mkt. decode was a bit different and 9 instead of 0 worked for me. hope this helps
Thanks for the info!
Hi Mike
Would this work on a 2016 Shaker with the Sub?
Car is a Mustang GT
Thanks
I have the JL audio spare tire sub and Kenwood amp powering it. Hits pretty good!
What you think about leaving all the factory setting like they are, skipping the forscan and getting a Lc2i pro to fix the bass roll off ?
Hey, that may work too, but I'm not sure, don't have experience with that part. I do know that there is another setting in FORScan that can disable the bass rolloff, but supposedly you don't want to do that if you don't have an aftermarket amp, which in my case I don't. That way it'll send the full signal straight to your custom amp and bypass the factory. In my case it just sent the full range through the factory amp and made everything sound sooooo much better. Hopefully get an amp and subwoofer down the road.
Going to try the lc2 pro with 2 12inch cerwin vegas I will let you how it came out. Thanks for the quick response
@@GARJENVETTE1 howd it go im in same boat
@RaymondLamb do you know the setting to disable the bass roll off. I do have a aftermarket amp
can you please share a link where to buy the connector? thank you so much!!
www.amazon.com/dp/B083FML519?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Here is the one I used. Hope that helps.
My new infinity lower door speakers are distorted and clipping like hell after changing from the shaker system.... Will this forscan setting fix this?
I don't 100% know for sure. I had the same issue when I upgraded to the infinity in the lower door, they sounded terrible. I swapped the stock speakers back in and left it alone. I never did try them again after changing the settings in Forscan, it might could help. Good luck with it!
@@RaymondLamb ok thanks for the answer. I will test it.
Never mind. I found out for myself. I do have to return to stock before FORSCAN can connect.
@@RaymondLamb yep. Got it done. Only side effect was it lowered the seatbelt alert tone. Which I actually like. 😂 lol
Can I make the bottom front doors speakers full range?
Excellent question, and I don't know for sure. I think that is possibly handled by the amp and what it's set to send to the speaker, but you might can find another setting somewhere that could change that if it's not built in to the amp itself. I'm sorry I don't know the answer to that one.
Will using forscan to adjust this audio void factory warranty?
I can't say for certain, but dealers always look for any reason to deny something. I thought there was something about they had to prove that a mod or change caused the failure, but I'd hate to be in the position to prove it or fight with them to prove it. Nice thing about the FORScan is you can save a backup before you start and restore it if needed.
06:42 lower bass on head unit. Problem solved.
Thanks for the tip. Thanks for watching!
Would I need to do the eq fix if I have a idatalink mastro with rockford 360 dsp
I'm not entirely sure with that part. You can definitely try it to see if it makes it better and if you notice anything worse, change the setting back. I would think it might help getting a better original signal to your upgraded parts, but since mine is all stock except the speakers, I can't swear to it.
Thanks mate i'l give it a try
Hope it works well for you, worked wonders for my setup!
Worked like a dream. We are rocking along now! Thanks again mate
That's awesome, so glad it worked for you too!
Will this work on a 2015?
Any idea how to disable the center channel with forscan?
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on a 2015, but the number you need to change is probably different. You might need to do some research to find the exact one you need to swap. The center channel I'm not sure if you can do, me personally I haven't seen anything about that one. Good luck with it!
Do you know the code for the bass roll off?
Sorry, I don't know if there is one just for that, or if it's all rolled into one setting. I wish I could help, I found most of my code info from digging through Mustang Forums, you might find something there. Good Luck with it!
Would this be the same thing for a 2019 Ford F-150?
I imagine it would be. They all share the same software and hardware for the most part. You would probably have to find the specific code/number to change on yours though, as that probably is different. I'd look through some F-150 forums for the info, I bet you could find it. Good luck.
Can I do this on a Ford Flex or just a Mustang?
As far as I know, you can do this trick on all Ford vehicles that have these options. BUT, I believe the codes are different from vehicle to vehicle and even year models, so you'd have to try to track down the specific code for your application. Sorry I don't have all that info. Thanks for watching!
@@RaymondLamb Where can I find these codes?
I had to search forums online to find the ones I needed for my year, make, model. I don't think there's a list or anything like that unfortunately. Wish I could help more.
can i just take my car to the dealer and have this done? 16 gt premium pp manual with shaker system no sub
BTW after you did the mod did you try the lower door speakers you bought ? Might be better now?
That’s a good question and no I didn’t even think about it. When I first tried them I didn’t get hardly any mids or bass out of them at all so changed it back. I’m wondering now if this might’ve helped at all.
