I’ve worn many hats in my lifetime and once upon a time I built ponds and water gardens. If you’re having a difficult time keeping your fountain sparkling clean water, put copper in it. You could probably find some old pieces and just place them in the bottom of the pond. It would be a large expense but you could also have a liner made that would cover the bottom and go up the sides too. Copper is naturally antimicrobial, and won’t grow lichens either. If you decide to put fish in it, the copper won’t hurt them either. Clean sparkly water without chemicals. I once placed an old copper water heater from a wood stove in one and that did the trick. That pond was deeper (4ft) than yours so you couldn’t see it as it sat on the bottom.
Great idea; I had copper in my pond and it truly helped. I did it after one of my fish (algae-eater) actually choked on the algae piece he tried to eat. (Yes, we did bury him in a little fish grave behind the pond under the honeysuckle shrub)
You should put all of that bird poo in the compost bin. It is an excellent additive for composting. Love love love your videos, especially today's! Please keep doing what you're . we love you
Bird poo? I didn't know. ty. I get excited when finding out new things to add to mine. Everytime I do it, I envision my soil being dark and nutrient rich. I guess it's a gardeners thing 😀
I too am concerned watching this with all the bird droppings being stirred up and no mask. Histoplasmosis is real. My grandmother became ill from this and was hospitalized for Histoplasmosis. Please be careful! Love 💘 from Colorado USA 🇺🇸
Yes and with Stephs recent illness and Covid...better safe than sorry. I could be wrong but I believe Stephs illness was either related to or involved breathing issues.
Guys!!! Goggles when you use a pressure washer!!! We don't want you guys in the hospital! My friend washed her windows with a pressure washer and ended up with a very teeny piece of metal in her eye! She never knew....thought it was allergies because her eye was red and itchy! That little metal had started rusting by the time she saw her eye doctor!!!! OMG! Sorry for being a nagging mom....but I am a mom!!! Hugs from Montreal!
Yes, I saw a show where a man sprayed his own leg at close range on high power and it actually messed him up...cut deeply in his skin, got infected, it was awful. They can be quite dangerous. I was cringing watching the sprayer being pointed all around...
In the last vlog, with the tile design from Stephanies father, I thought, he really saw the future! 🙂 All the little different figures, dotted around the whole Chateau. Gardeners, musicians, dancing people... People all over, things happening and the Chateau in all its newfound glory. I do think, he and Stephanie shared the dream, of what could be - and it came true! Gardeners in the gardens, people dancing, music - and projects galore. Imagine this place, just 5 years from now!! 😂
If this channel ever ceases to be, my heart will truly break. That being said, I’m not sure what I enjoyed more - all of the hard work or the glimpses into the junk/treasure storage rooms. And yes, the wine and cheese break. I adore you all! ❤️
Stephanie I had a idea for your beautiful old gutters. They would make awesome birdhouse posts. At different heights around the garden. Maybe Selma could see my vision. 😎
It’s wonderful that all the old building materials and tiles were saved and can be reused. Recycling will help in so many ways toward saving fuel etc to make new and inferior product. Good job - it will be wonderful.
do you have a thrift store for construction supplies? here in america habitat for humanity runs them. excellent place to reuse perfectly good items that no longer fit your needs. 🦩
OKAY - I'M SHOUTING...THIS IS LITERALLY the 5th useful comment I've read (not for Stephanie but for ME lol). Suggestions that I can utilize right now at my home. TY
@@barbibutton9619 you're welcome! Just remember that you might have to use the baking soda and vinegar several times for very stubborn spots. And using an old toothbrush ;)
Remember, many of the tiled areas will eventually be UNDER the temporary wardrobes and the eventual cabinets holding the china. If you are short on tiles, you can get something modern for the underneath areas. And sign and date a couple, in case they are ever discovered under the cabinets. :)
Stephanie could also search for similar plain tiles - to use as a border if it turns out there isn't enough of the old. Great idea to add a signature and date.
Stephanie never ceases to amaze me! As feminine and chic as she is...putting on her coveralls and mud boots to wash the tiles and grabbing a radish and eating it right fresh from the garden! Quite the Renaissance woman she is!
Even after watching this channel for almost 2 years I’m still captivated and get butterflies in my tummy when I watch with anticipation as more and more of Stephanies dreams and visions come to fruition. So happy ♥️💙😊
I love how curious Ruby and Diesel are about the goings on! They are both so cute and make things seem more homey! Really hoping the tiles clean up beautifully as they are going to look great back in the chateau in proper use again! Don’t know how much longer the rest of the terrace can go without attention though. It kind of seems like an emergency!
Hi Stephanie I don’t know whether you would have seen my message in live chat as it goes so quick. But there is another channel on you tube called Mapperton live. I think you are your followers would like it.It’s about the Earl and Countess of Sandwich who live in a country House in Mapperton which is in Dorset in the Uk. Their son also lives there with his American wife and children. They talk about the upkeep of the house and gardens etc, etc.Quite fascinating I am sure you would like it Stephanie.
I agree please wear a mask...also you may find a brush attachment to cordless drill that you can use to clean the tiles. Please dont soak the tiles for too long as they could break...

As fun as it could be to put the radish green in the compost bin, you can make a ¨Potage aux feuilles de radis¨. My grandmother use to do this with ¨2 bottes de feuilles de radis, 2 cuil. à soupe de beurre, 4 pommes de terre coupées finement et 4 tasses de bouillons de volaille. Oh gosh, commenting on tile cleaning after it's been done for 2 years is quite a bit of angst. So glad to see them on their journey to their new life!
