Nasty comments can be blocked and reported, there’s no need to put up with bullying. There that’s my opinion🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I love how the door turned out and as long as you like it that’s all that matters. You’ve been working on the Chateau for several years now and it looks wonderful. Watching the cottage progress will be exciting to watch so thank you for making the videos. I agree with your comments as well. Michael is learning. It shows that he is reading the comments and paying attention. I think he is doing a fabulous job.

The carved limestone fragment bearing dog-tooth ornament dating from the late 12th century; appears to be a voissoir fragment from a window arch, with a hood-moulding or string-course immediately above. The bricks in the east wall of the chapel are interesting for being so thin: in the UK bricks of that proportion would be Tudor. I can't see how a falling tree could have caused damage to the lowest part of the wall: the evidence points to a former opening here in the wall. That might have been nothing more than a doorway hacked through in post-medieval times, when the chapel may have fallen out of religious use for a century or two. Alternatively, there could have been a medieval low-level projection below the east window: sometimes a small relic chamber or important tomb was constructed as a projection behind the altar. Can't say more without seeing all the evidence. Best wishes from a church archaeologist
@@jmk1962 It is a beautiful green, isn't it? I may have misremembered but I think Michael did also buy a brighter green, the colour of the gate he showed us at Beatrix Potter's cottage.

God bless you and your lovely Family. Love your Vlogs. Can't wait to see your finished cottage and your Families start on the Chateu Kitchen.
Michael, I enjoyed learning how to bring back an old original door to a beautiful refreshed cottage door. At first I wasn’t sure how the green paint would look but my goodness I think it looks great! You are very creative & talented. It was so nice to see you back at LaLande. You seemed to immediately be more comfortable & happier at LaLande. It is so apparent that you and Stephanie are truly great friends. Your individual skills and talents compliment each other so well. It felt like LaLande had some of her family energy back as soon as you joined the dinner table! It’s wonderful to have best friends!
Your door is looking beautiful now, well done on all that effort and hard work. The ruins behind your chapel are most intriguing. A case for Inspector P to solve, methinks! Would be interesting to see the old drawings of the old chateau at some point.
The trompe l'oeil is spectacular! And, as an archaeologist, I was very excited to see all of the stone bits in the woods. I really wanted draw up a plan view map to make sense of it all :)
Thank-you, Michael...and Benjamin. That was absolutely delightful: my two favourite places in one vlog. The door looks amazing, and now that it’s in place, the cottage looks more homey. I was enjoying a glass of wine as I watched and raised my glass at the end to toast you and all your wonderful friends.

You are so amazingly clever, Michael - You can turn your hand to anything !! - I'm really impressed with your "trompe l'oeil" skills amongst so many others you have. Your advice about painting around windows is really sound, too - ie not bothering with masking tape but scraping the paint off with a flat blade when it is dry - I use a Stanley knife blade. However here's another tip. Whenever I paint doors, I always remove the doorknob, locks, handles and hinges so that I don't have anything that obstructs the sander and the paint. That way you can get a perfect finish around them when you put them back again after completing the painting of the door - Just a wee tip I wanted to share with you and your followers, of whom I am one who's really enjoying everything that you do - Bravo !!!
I’m glad I was given the preview of the finished door, and then now able to see your process. It’s turned out beautifully. I look forward to my weekly escapes to your vlogs -thank you!
