Selmar is patient and deliberate, very reassuring as he cleans the tiles. They are beautiful! Quite exciting to see so many things being done. The new chandelier will find a proper place of importance.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate all the men like “the Ians” who through their skill and labor allow beautiful renovations like this to be possible? I’m not saying women can’t or don’t work construction, but it’s mostly guys who historically and presently flesh out other people’s visions by doing the majority of this type of work. Without their willingness to choose a job where they get their hands dirty, we wouldn’t have the vast majority of the beautiful architecture and renovations we enjoy. I’m always impressed by the courtesy and appreciation Stephanie treats everyone with, including some who may seem a bit rough around the edges. And the Ians themselves are really kind and courteous communicators as well as skillful craftsmen.
I would be in my element cleaning all of those tiles. If it wasn't for lockdown I'd be on the next flight out there to complete the task for you. Yes, I'm that weirdo who loves the tasks most hate like matching up pairs of socks after washing, untangling twine and cables, organising things into alphabet, chronological or size order (no herbgate with me around 😁). Keep up the great work ladies and gents.

It’s 1.54 AM here in Central Victoria Australia & I have my alarm set for 5.15 AM Stephanie is always so enjoyable to watch & listen to. I love watching the journey & transformation of the chateau. Way back in my younger days I lived in an attic apt and I absolutely loved it, what with all the sloping ceiling angles. It was as cozy as it could be.

Stephanie, for the attic space where you have less head room for bulky insulation, there’s a super thin high-performance insulation material which gets used in aircrafts and space shuttles. It looks like padded aluminium foil. I know this can regularly be purchased second hand at ‘airplane graveyards’. Considering France has a big aviation industry I’m sure you can source some fairly easily probably for little money. That way you can super heavily insulate without loosing more than a few cm of height

But what about all that weight in the attic? That makes me nervous. Isn't that a concern?
Stephanie, for the attic space where you have less head room for bulky insulation, there’s a super thin high-performance insulation material which gets used in aircrafts and space shuttles. It looks like padded aluminium foil. I know this can regularly be purchased second hand at ‘airplane graveyards’. Considering France has a big aviation industry I’m sure you can source some fairly easily probably for little money. That way you can super heavily insulate without loosing more than a few cm of height
