Stefanie, your father's decision to purchase a fountain for the main courtyard was good - the one he chose, size & style an inspiration. The plants & their layout work well with it. The view of that area far exceeds the entrances of the chateaux you have visited.
The attic looks amazing .. can I suggest putting the wardrobes back to back down the centre.. that way the windows are each side and walkways are beautifully straight along the storage xx

The new logo is so lovely! Steve did such a great job, and I’m so glad to see it in the videos! It’s so fun to get to know Sarah a little more. I was really excited when Stephanie said in the Patreon video that Sarah was going to help go through the fabrics! It will be fun to have the two sewists working together! (I will just say…I don’t need the “coming up in this episode” bit at the beginning! I like just starting with the intro music and feeling like the episode happens organically! It makes it feel more like I’m at Lalande and less like I’m watching a show, if that makes sense!) love to everyone!
I love the logo toooo ...just wish the Peacock feathers floated down a little longer with the quintessential "eye" shapes at the end of the feathers showing up. Haven't seen the logo as much 3 yrs. later. And I like just a few snippets that whet the appetite at the beginning ...it's like a 'starter' at the beginning of a meal ...particularly in the longer vlogs, maybe not in the shorter ones.
The French invented the potager where flowers mixed with vegetables and herbs in gorgeous designs so the tomatoes amongst the flowers are a suitable nod to that. I love that the 'Lalande' way is to not do the staid and bland and ordinary or expected but to do JOY instead. Costumes and celebrating occasions is part of that and we love it. Stephanie has shown everyone she meets and us that this is a special way to live life. Stephanie's influence transforms the mundane.
I can watch you all day all night...well almost, lol! I adore Michael. I am his patron first and he was the reason I started watching and became a patron of yours as well. Miss Stephanie, love your channel, I am a landscape designer and managed a garden center for many years... if you want worms in your soil, spread bark mulch around your plants and the worms will come and turn the mulch into rich black soil with worm castings ....and the mulch will hold moisture in the soil which the plants will appreciate🌿🦋🥰..Kelly
It’s pretty routine where I live in the US to plant vegetables alongside flowers. The flowers attract the bees which then pollinate the vegetables plants.
If you use cardboard in place of landscape fabric the worms will come & enrich the soil. Can you rake back some mulch & put down the cardboard & remulch?

Dan's tomato plants in Lalande's courtyard is an ode to the English Cottage Garden that originally was a mixture of flowers and vegetables. There's a British history lesson from an American who loves cottage gardens.🟥⬜🟦 I love that you planted Allium in the new garden around the fountain. Please let each Allium blossom go to seed (don't cut it off!) so it can reseed itself around the fountain garden. Each Allium planted feet apart from one another looks far too lonesome! Alliums planted en masse is a whimsical sight to see. You'll love it! 💜🟣💜🟣💜🟣💜
It’s surprising to see planters go in right next to a 500+ year old building. I would think the constant water would be a concern for the building. I thought that was the reason most château’s that I’ve seen are always graveled right to the building. Wouldn’t it be safer to just have wonderful big pots as accents for the courtyard and then keep the walls dry?
The fountain is looking fabulous. How about some garden benches on the interior gravel area to sit and admire it in all it's glory and listen to the trickling of water. Maybe one at each of the four corners.

Al is coming along so well. It is beautiful and the fountain running adds so much. Everyone at Lalande are so blessed to have this opportunity to live in this dream sort o bubble. It takes alot of work but you all do it well together and it is meant to be, as it is when people find and are able to visit or live at Lalande, I feel. Stephanie, you have an eye for finding just the right people to fill the home with love and light.

At 13:32 a black caftan sitting in the back is it a vintage Moroccan caftan? It looks very similar to a Moroccan traditional caftan called Caftan Ntaa which is a special embroidery originated in Fez 🇲🇦, it also looks like a vintage Moroccan caftan from the 70's or 80's , if it is hope you could preserve it Stephanie , it is a very special dress , you can find it at different museums exhibitions like the met and other famous museums 😍

Putting loads of French lavender in the wardrobes keeps the moths away. It's the most effective moth deterrent I have found.

Al is coming along so well. It is beautiful and the fountain running adds so much. Everyone at Lalande are so blessed to have this opportunity to live in this dream sort o bubble. It takes alot of work but you all do it well together and it is meant to be, as it is when people find and are able to visit or live at Lalande, I feel. Stephanie, you have an eye for finding just the right people to fill the home with love and light.
I swear (I know I shouldn't but...) her father is up above directing the right people. I mean the whole Selmar arrival right at lockdown....just, what are the odds. Divine intervention
Oh wow that time just shot by, so much going on that I can hardly keep track. Thank you Stephanie for sharing all the excitement, except losing Michael again. Dan and Davey and the Ian’s speeding along with all the improvements. WCL
It’s wonderful seeing all the good things happening at Lalande. Michael is such a lovely person & he & Stephanie have such a special friendship ☺️ I hope he comes back soon 😁💕
stale bread or even harder bread, in my household (at least when we have bread in the house), I turn into Bread Pudding. With or without raisins. We actually prefer dried blueberries or dried currants.

At 13:32 a black caftan sitting in the back is it a vintage Moroccan caftan? It looks very similar to a Moroccan traditional caftan called Caftan Ntaa which is a special embroidery originated in Fez 🇲🇦, it also looks like a vintage Moroccan caftan from the 70's or 80's , if it is hope you could preserve it Stephanie , it is a very special dress , you can find it at different museums exhibitions like the met and other famous museums 😍

Labelled tubs for the costume cupboard - for hats, scarves, etc and the small things that won't fit on a coat hanger
I thought that too, so much easier to just slide out and have a rifle through and the just neatly slot back
@@timluck8147 Apart from being a Music Director, I have also done lots of work with secondary schools and semi-professional theatre companies working in the area of costumes. Labelled tubs are just so helpful for keeping cossies organised

So glad the fountain is filled and on again. The fountain is an epic part of Chateau Lalande. I cannot wait to see more and more flowers and other veg planted around the Chateau.
That Purple jacket looks great on Phillip, I'm sure Prince would have approved. I actually did flowers for Prince when I worked at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle, Washington years ago. For those that don't know, that's the land of Microsoft and Starbucks.
