Hi Gordon! Firstly let me congratulate you on the excellent videos you have made so far! Wanted to ask regarding the Civil Law countries eligibility requirements! I have submitted a request for eligibility at NYS Bar Examination Foreign Evaluation. Since it's a civil law country where I finished law school, I should expect a negative answer. How should I proceed then? Will the NYS Bar notify me of the necessity to do an LLM in the States before taking the bar exam? Regards!
Thank you❤
Yup, I am also interested in it. Additionally, I wonder whether the recruitment process in Tokio is the same as in USA/UK. Looking forward to such kind of videos. Many thanks beforehand.
I would see if I can produce this kind of content, thanks for letting me know!
'pretty much the same with Philippine Bar exams! Kudos to all who took the November 2019 Phil. Bar exams!
nice explanation
You are a great man 😎
🙏🏻
Great! Congratulations! Do you guys advise and go to Court Etc. like any other Local American lawyer?
Hi this is very helpful.
What Visa did you apply for to write the exam?
How difficult is it to get a job once you are qualified?
Who prepared you for your exams and gave you the content you had to study ?

Good video
Hi Gordon, thank you for this video! Highly informative and helpful! May I ask where you get sample multiple choice questions for your practice? Thank you, and more power!
Do you mean sample multiple choice questions for the bar or mpre?
@@sweetie5145 for both please
Why did you decide to take the NY bar exam? I have a one year break before starting my LPC and training contract and considering to do this in that time, but not sure what the benefits will be/ if it would be worth it!
hey gordon congrats on passing the bar exam
can you make a video on how to secure a job at a law ready to sponsor you for a H1b visa also
what to do if it gets rejected in the lottery process the 1st time, while on OPT visa
would really help, thank you!!
So if I wanted to become a lawyer in the state of Tennessee what would you recommend? Any good materials online for example? I completed my undergraduates (criminal justice) degree a few years ago. I'm looking to furthering my education and get my law degree... Would I even need to get my law degree in Tennessee? I know every state is different. Anyway I know I have alot of questions haha. Just looking for somebody like you to point me in the right and more importantly, the most effective way to become a lawyer within a year. Thank you for your time. Would appreciate any advice. Congrats btw :))
Good video with great content!
Do you have to travel to US to attend the admission ceremony?
No I did it online
Hi! I’m thinking of taking the NY Bar Exam as a foreigner and I wanted to ask, were you satisfied with BARBRI?
Hi. Can you share your review/resource materials? Thanks!
Hi Gordon, i´m a chilean lawyer, here we don´t study common law, do you know if that its a problem for eligibility??? i really don´t want to spend money in LLM....
Having been admitted to the bar in new york have you had any job offer or opportunities for residency
Hi Gordon, your video was informative. On which visa you came to USA to take the NYC bar exam. Was it F1 visa or any kind of visa
I was on a tourist visa, I think that should be enough!
I am wondering if you didn't do a JD in US, how difficult is it to get an attorney job in new york even though u pass the bar exam?
Hello, may I ask if how much the minimum salary of lawyer in New York?
I am there's for the lawyer video it's help me as well
Don't they make you do special schooling and classes before you can take the bar exam?
Hello sir, can I message you regarding about this matter? Hoping to receive a feedback from you.
How to create NCBE number?
I am there
Question ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi did you first passed your bar exam in your home country before you took the NY Bar Exam?
I didn’t take other bar exams before NY bar
What are the overall costs to prepare and/or do the New York bar exam for a foreigner?
It depends on which course providers you use, it really varies as I mentioned in the video, I would say roughly half of the costs of a LPC
New York
Do you have any idea about CA bar? Do you know the difference between CA bar and NY bar?
I think foreign qualified lawyers often take the CA bar instead of the NY bar if they don’t have a LLB from a common law background
did you study fulltime?
👍👍👍
🙏🏻
Do I need at degree to be available to take the exam? Example I got at 4 years criminal justice bachelor can I take the exams?
Yes normally you will need a law degree in common law counties
Or just do the Mike Ross’
I am there's
New pn there's
Foreign Bachelor of Laws Degree will qualify to sit for the New York Bar?
Yes, if it’s from a common law country it’s very likely
@@GordonChung Yes, my foreign country is a combination of Civil and Common Law. I tried to sit for the California Bar (CalBar) and CalBar instructed me to have my foreign credentials evaluated by their accredited agency. The accredited agency evaluated my Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.) and is equivalent to a US JD degree. I register online application and submitted all my paper works as instructed by the CalBar and after their review, CalBar replied me back that, my case as a foreign law graduate and wish to sit for the California Bar is required to study one year of Master of Laws (LL.M.) at an accredited ABA law school and to study LLM will most likely be spending $62,000.00.
Gordon, with your experience at the New York Bar (NYB), do you think I need to cure a deficiency with my 4 year foreign pre-law course and 4 year foreign law proper LLB? Did NYB admitted you to take the Bar because of your LLB with LLM and Law training? Or just LLB alone will qualify me to sit in the NYB?
Thank you!
My LLB in Hong Kong alone makes me eligible so you may have a chance but I will advise you to submit an online evaluation request to confirm
@@GordonChung Already did the online evaluation form and created NCBE # as instructed and have already BOLE ID. My next step is, I’ll ask my foreign law school to send to NYB my transcript of records, degree of certificate and letter of fulfillment.
Thank you so much, Gordon!
Hi Gordon, it’s been two years when I message you about my eligibility for the NY bar. 😊 Now, that I am eligible. Do you suggest to go over all the text books subjects covered by the NY bar? Read all of them, memorize, etc., or just enroll and focus on Themis or Barbri bar materials?
Thank you, Gordon!
how many courses you need to study for the exams
You can enroll into the Barbri course I remember there are 14 courses in total
are you practicing in the US now? you will need a sponsor to get a work visa
Working in London ATM!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
My law degree was online and it was an accelerated course that only took 2 years. Do you think I would need to do additional things in NewYork
