Hi Gordon, thank you so much for sharing your experience! I am also a LLB graduate from Hong Kong. I am wondering which bar review course did you use and weather it is suitable for foreign-trained student like me?
It is quite impossible to study 14 hours every day. You will burn out before the exam. Be organized instead. 5 hours daily are more than enough. No phone, no computer, and no distractions. Take a twenty-minute break after the first two hours. In the last month, spend more time practicing on essays and MBE. 8 to 9 hours if you can are a proper amount of time. And, take time off.
Thank you much for making this video!!! It really made a big difference in constructing my study plan and calming my stress as a i am foreign student too!! And do you know if it is possible to go straight from an LLB to the bar exam with no working experience ??
So helpful, thank you for the tips. I'm writing in July 2020 and I just started doing my research on which bar review I should use and tips on what to do and what not to do. Which bar review did you use

Very helpful video, I saw that you recommended strategies & tactics books for the exam. Do you know of any decent sites/ books that cover the substantive material. Trying to get a bargain :)
Hey, thanks for your words:) you can buy the 2016 Strategies & Tactics for the MBE and 2013 Seventh Edition of Strategies & Tactics. Also check out the prediction on JD advising website, they usually predict MBE or MEE topics quite accurately each year!

This was really good, thanks very much!!
no worries!
Would you recommend BARBRI? And how do you apply to sit the New York Bar exam as a UK law graduate?
I recommend Barbri, if you have done a three/four year LLB degree in a common law country, you will likely be eligible!

Study as long as you can up to diminishingly return some need 8hrs others need around the clock with a lot of breaks
Thanks for the video! Really useful! Great work. Question - do you recommend any sources for acquiring / purchasing sample MBE questions?
Thank you much for making this video!!! It really made a big difference in constructing my study plan and calming my stress as a i am foreign student too!! And do you know if it is possible to go straight from an LLB to the bar exam with no working experience ??
It’s definitely possible - normally speaking you can take the bar if you have a 3 or 4 year LLB in a common law country!

Hey Kevin, reach out to me via LinkedIn or instagram, and let me see what I can do to help!
Gordon, what tutor did you use?
Can Indian law graduate sit for New York bar exam.
any tips on how to memorize the law?
Memorising by attempting more past paper questions is quite useful
Just wanna make sure, you did 1500 MBE Qs total among all subjects not 1500 Qs per subject? This maybe a dumb question for those who know
Hi, once you pass the bar exam do you get working rights in the US or do you need to apply for working rights?
Yes, you have to secure a job and that's usually the more difficult part
Hey how did u show NY bar admission board that you fulfilled the legal education requirements in your country?i have a 3 years LLB from Uni of London and want to sit for NY bar.How am i gonna show NY that?Uk needs LPC or BVC before admission to bar.
You need to send your transcript to the NY bar authority to evaluate your eligibility, can find the link on google

I wonder how difficult it is for a foreign lawyer to get a job in New York after passing the exams?
I think it’s not easy as many law firms prefer recruiting JD graduates but there are exceptional cases for sure (e.g Harvard law grad)
Hi Gordon why did you choose to study for the New York Bar and did you do your pro bono work to qualify for admission online? I have been considering it but I am based in the UK ( and not thinking about relocating there at the moment. )
Great!
Thanks!
which books did you buy for each subject ? Did you just rely on bar materials provided by bar course or you opted for textbooks ?
Hi Adamson, you can also buy the 2016 Strategies & Tactics for the MBE and 2013 Seventh Edition of Strategies & Tactics for the MBE, these two books make your life easier because they are based on past NY bar exam questions and are super useful!!
