I played drums as a kid, we used to cover Nirvana songs. I joined the army at 16 and never played the drums again, sold them. I watched the Taylor Hawkins tribute gig from Wembley on TV. Next day, I went into Glasgow (I'm Scottish) and spent £7.500 on a brand new Pearl drum kit. Thank you Dave Grohl, and thanks to Taylor, you reinspired me again man. God bless you.
Do your thing woman I'm glad you went to rehab and I hope you had a whole lot of fun and got your s*** together and your life as we doing wonderful do your thing
Crying my eyes out watching this. It was our time. It was so beautiful. I can only hope the generations that come behind us have something so powerful, so awesome, so real to experience. It's all about sharing ... love, joy, giving.
The Generations to come WILL have awesome, powerful music to listen to. My 10 year old niece is a HUGE Foo Fighters fan, I've even got her playing the drums. Good music will never die as long as people listen to it.
Was sad and in recovery. This song gives me power. Everytime I hear it. Gives me hope and strength. Sit in a rehab and here this song. Crazy wonderful to this girl.
I'm a video tech and was blessed to have toured with these guys in '18. They are fantastic musicians and they absolutely love to perform. All stadium shows. No warm up or opening act. Just the Foo Fighters playing rock and roll for three and a half hours. I am sure they miss touring as we all do. Here's to David and all the guys who pour their heart and soul out on stage for our enjoyment. We can't wait to see you again. Live, with a rabid crowd and a full rig
I love Dave he twiddles on his guitar and gives stories into his life I could listen to that for hours he doesn’t even have to jam, man he’s just great!
For future reference, when you start the video if you take a few seconds to skip to each ad or just after it they go away (you may have to watch one again) but then you can start the video again and listen without interruption. It's annoying we have to do that but it's better than it abruptly coming on :)
If Dave Grohl isn't the nicest guy in rock and roll, I don't wanna know it. And to piss the world off even more, he's one helluva musician and writer. Live on Dave Grohl, live on. You are the spirit of Rock and Roll.
Hes Mr rock and roll for me that prick noel gallagher said recently that Mr rock and roll can kiss my bollox well noel you couldn't lace hes boots what a wanker gallagher is
During the lockdown in 2020, I spent the nights, dark to dawn, watching music videos, often just wherever UA-cam took me. Often the classic rock that evokes the memories and has been most of life’s soundtrack. I was raising kids when Nirvana dropped, and while I was aware of them the music didn’t resonate with me then. It does today. When Kurt died, and Foo Fighters were born, my kids were old enough that Foo Fighters was prominent in their playlists. Again, at first, Foo Fighters didn’t resonate. But then American Pie and East Great Falls landed in our home, and suddenly Times Like These clicked. And I started listening to Foo Fighters with the kids. And some others, too, but these guys, as musicians, and performers and artists, have gotten into my blood. So back to the lockdown. I found this video one night and fell in love with it. I’ve been to a lot of concerts, love the crowd energy, and I don’t know how many people were in the largest concert audience I was ever in, but it wasn’t anywhere near the number that’s in this video, and I had those moments when I wondered: will we ever see that again? I got a lot of energy, a lot of hope, and lived many good memories watching this video then. And it’s almost two years later, I’ve gone back to it a few times. I love watching Dave play to the crowd, but I really love watching Taylor on the drum kit. Energy, emotion, impeccable timing and beat, and he shows he’s having a blast. I look for him in every Foo Fighters video, and listen for him in every song. I’ve seen many fantastic, iconic drummers play, and I know millions of other folks have also seen and heard fantastic drummers. And I won’t say Taylor was the GOAT, I’m not qualified to judge that. But I do say, nobody I ever saw or heard was more fun to watch and hear than Taylor, and I’m stunningly sad I never got to experience his art in person. Today, Taylor Hawkins l, I thank you, and my hat is off to you.
U think David Groul has been through Enough. He lost Kurt Cobain than Taylor Hawkins RIP. Before Taylor past. I actually have a David Groul journal that I made at 🏡. I'm in Philadelphia wanted to go to the Hard Rock Cafe. I used to work there beforehand. I got pregnant. 💕 You Kurdt. MA
This made me cry. I just lost my mama. She died right in front of me. I held her hand and rubbed her head. I love you and miss you so much mama. 💔 Her birthday is Saturday. I wish I could sing her Happy Birthday just one more time.
Being there through that was everything to her. She was loved, and so are you. Wishing your mother a happy birthday, and you a day where you can smile because of all the wonderful memories. Sending all the love your way!
When we all heard Nirvana back in the day, none of us thought that the goddamn drummer would be the one to make it, much less to make us all sit here and shed salt from our eyes all these years on. Goddamn, this is powerful.
He can take you on a journey just by talking and playing behind his guitar. That’s talent. And the audience LOVES IT ALL!! Returning the love back and forth with the guys on the stage…. That’s Success.

Thank you Mr Dave, thank you all Foo Fighters, for this song so apropriate for these difficult times for the allmankind! Thank you, stay safe, for God Sake!
My 20s were badass because of this guy and his music I’ll be 51 next Friday and my 50s are still badass because of this guy and his music. I am a one way motorway
Okay I found a guy who gets it. I am 52 and Grohl is simply a beast in the industry. He is what we all wish we could be... but yet he is very human and he makes it clear his success has nothing to do with talent... it has everything to do with WORK. Dave worked his ass off his entire life to be where he is today. I want to shake his hand
As a live act they are one of the best, Dave communicates with everyone in the arena. His songs are are anthems, his band is tight , enjoy if you can you will not regret it
Just such a great human being, and I just hope he knows the tears coming out of my face and the shaking I get listening to his music is joy and not pain. Thank you God for such an inspiration. Love his music so much
Hip Chick - you don’t need that in life, just being right here right now in this era of time when these bands and songs existed is more then what most people got in life. Be so happy.
Noel Gallagher was once asked, what is the most thrilling moment of being famous, and he replied, When a stadium full of fans, sings lyrics that you have written. Fact.
This song I heard for the first time while laying in a hospital bed from getting hit by a car. It got me through a challenging time. For that, thank you gentlemen.

On the whole I agree with your assertion, however. Tears are a response to deep emotional stimulus with the exception of irritants. Tears of joy or sadness. Music can bring people together but simultaneously cause annoyance in others. Church bells on a Sunday morning when recovering from a hangover. Curse those bloody bells! Or the muslim call to prayer; strangely hypnotic to the point of convincing the worshippers that killing other people, especially other muslims and everyone else is a good thing to do, coz God told 'em it's a good idea. An absolute rock god beyond equal and yet he ALWAYS compares himself to his family. Whether it be his kids, or his mother. He always includes and makes time for them in his gigs more then any other performer. #imnotcryingyourcrying
The best surprise gift my wife ever gave to me was a pair of tickets for us to see Foo Fighters together. It was a phenomenal show and a great excuse to enjoy a weekend in the Smoky Mountains!
Man I miss all the Seattle bands so many have committed suicide or died from drug overdose. He's lost so many friends. But yes still going. Love him so much
I feel your pain. Yet, careful with statements on cause of death.... They're gone and that's what matters. But the cause is not always the official one... For most of them. It is sad to ruin someone's reputation when he's not here anymore to defend himself. Especially those brilliant lads
Met Dave twice. Once in 1992 just as Nirvana was going platinum around the world. The as Foo Fighters toured with Sonic Youth in 1996. Both times, he was pretty much this guy - genuine in spirit, welcoming, appreciative and for a person who could be swallowed by the "rockness of his stardom" (sarcasm), he was extraordinarily real and humble. He's really come into his own person now... confident and mellow and I'm happy he's where he is now. Would be amazing to meet him again. So adorable that he tours with his family. Made me teary watching this!
hes cool but it would have been cooler if he had stepped up and did something about Kurts murder. at least .... something! he just gave up and gave in to Courtney Love who he actually talks to now. What a disgrace. Cheers.
Me too I just lost my mother and this popped up and I got so choked up and cried. I needed this song and I got hope to carry on. I love that you had a chance to meet him n yah he seems to be genuinely Awsome guy. Best wishes ty ....for posting this ✌🎶💞
Well peeps, Dave talks about Mudhoney, Reading 90', I was There! And I loved it. One regret however I didn't go back in 92' for Nirvana,...I went to Glastonbury, I can still cry for the miss but still loved the time.I loved again with The Foos
I admire Dave Grohl so so much, I hope someday when I have children one of them will grow up to be like him. I mean it from the heart, a absolute original role model and outstanding musician!
When we all heard Nirvana back in the day, none of us thought that the goddamn drummer would be the one to make it, much less to make us all sit here and shed salt from our eyes all these years on. Goddamn, this is powerful.

Wow what a great story!!! lyrics are always so real ....you can tell he loves it...so natural for them....
Strange I did a lot of stadium shows with the FF in 18' in UK/EU/US with a support band.
Actually, the FooFighters are the best Band in activity, in the World!
You lucky bastard bet you look back and think times like these ❤🎶🎶
One question, did you ever have a counter in how many times Dave said fuck at a venue?
Every fucking time I hear this song, I cry...

There should be a law against placing that ad in the middle of this masterpiece
Indeed there should be-- great idea and comment!!!
I have a list of brands that have spoiled videos of this quality, they lost me, I'll just never purchase anything from them
Totally agree with you. Amazing song.
For future reference, when you start the video if you take a few seconds to skip to each ad or just after it they go away (you may have to watch one again) but then you can start the video again and listen without interruption.
It's annoying we have to do that but it's better than it abruptly coming on :)
The music is on youtube is free they need to make money to keep providing it
10 years old and yet I still watch this video every other week 👏 this man loves his fans and truly loves what he does

Naz Black met them while living Soho 1990... he is the real deal. Man crush for sure....
Sonic youth i loved madona mix.. ciccone youth ..
hes cool but it would have been cooler if he had stepped up and did something about Kurts murder. at least .... something! he just gave up and gave in to Courtney Love who he actually talks to now. What a disgrace. Cheers.
Me too I just lost my mother and this popped up and I got so choked up and cried. I needed this song and I got hope to carry on. I love that you had a chance to meet him n yah he seems to be genuinely Awsome guy. Best wishes ty ....for posting this ✌🎶💞
@@8vedder3 you'll find that she didn't pull the trigger, and it's not his responsibility to fulfill your conspiracy theories.
Pure 💕
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for inspiring this 65-year-old lady down on her luck
Been reading the bio. Thank you Dave
Dave Grohl is an absolute living legend, how can you not just love the bloke.
Well peeps, Dave talks about Mudhoney, Reading 90', I was There! And I loved it. One regret however I didn't go back in 92' for Nirvana,...I went to Glastonbury, I can still cry for the miss but still loved the time.I loved again with The Foos
This is an important performance, the emotion he draws in that leads to the power of times like these is absolutely brilliant
And the acoustic becomes a roaring anthem in a second and it catches you off guard. What magic there is in melody!!!
damn i miss live music and getting drunk with friends
Taylor...so freakin awesome.
Gone way too soon. RIP./12-4-22
God Bless you Taylor Hawkins, the band, your family & all fans ... love & sympathy
Great musicians connect to the audience and send there Love.
@@maohadad5729 well said...i love this man
