Growing up as Asian, a lot of people crying racism don't understand how many people like Uncle Roger exist in our communities. You can go to any Asian store and half of the staff are funny, blunt, and will state their opinion out loud and proud, with a heavy accent.

As a Pakistani and an Asian, he really represents us pretty much. We are well known for our really good food. I love watching his videos, he's very relatable especially with his Asian jokes and the food part. He's honestly very, very relatable. I'm so proud to be an Asian. It's very unique being one too! :)

He represents us asians over the stereotypes and such. He's just bringing up his own character from his childhood, with accent of broken english + mandrain/cantonese accent mixed together and keeping us asians be represented more in a lot of ways. He is really a good uncle to me.

i am a mixed ethnicity: japanese and okinawan. so yes i am an asian person. and honestly, the things uncle roger says, makes me laugh, in fact it makes my whole family laugh! As a Thai people who laugh in pain along with millions of people in Thai green curry by Jamie Oliver I can say that he is very good at making jokes to the point that someone will find something to hate him which is very weird
I think it's fine. Being Chinese myself I find it entertaining to watch and my brothers love his content. It's cool to see him exposing asian culture to the media and earlier this year when he really hit off I would get questions from friends about things in his video whether they're true which made me feel pretty nice.
This video opened so much more to me. Initially, I watched some Uncle Roger videos and was enjoying his content. After watching this video, I am amazed. And I'm also going to embrace my Indian accent.

Many years ago, due to an anti-mexican-racism movement, the show Speedy Gonzalez was cancelled. It was almost immediately put back on air when Mexican communities were in uproar. To this day my coworker Citlali (her name is Nauhuatl for Stars) still occasionally quotes Speedy whenever we need to go fast.

As a Vietnamise i grew up in Czech and barely know how to read Vietnamise but i personally think he's very funny, clever and of course he isn't racist. He's embracing being asian and it's admirable how confident he is this is coming from a socially akward shy person

There is like kind of an area or like a store and around the store the area a lot of Vietnamise people sell and are there, and in Czech there are also i would say a lot of Vietnamise people in fact the Area has a whole restaurant that's named Vietnamise you could say and there are weddings usually with Vietnamise people and sometimes foreigners and there is this building where there would be like extra classes or tutoring i went there for Math and Czech but stopped years ago, there was this female teacher who was not Vietnamise and a teacher who was Vietnamise but the non Vietnamise woman got kicked out cause appearently she was talking bad about Vietnamise people

I’m from Hong Kong living in New Zealand, work in Hospital, sometimes I make similar jokes to my Asian colleagues too, when they push a patient to X-ray on a bed, I joked about Asian Female Drivers, and tell the patient to watch out and all three of us laughed together. Some jokes are quite limited to a certain people, if a European tells the same joke, the outcome will be So……different. I love Nigel Ng, he came to New Zealand last year, I was lucky enough to get to meet him. He is so Friendly and funny. 😂

As an Asian who lives in the Philippines, I was actually both impressed and envious of the Japanese who stayed true to themselves (their culture still remains to this day) unlike other countries in the Asia especially the country, Philippines I live in, it was such a waste that we have many diverse tribes, many languages, many cultures, yet people prefer western culture so much that we (even I as a Filipino) adapted and became the norm that we embraced today. Whilst forgetting our own culture little by little

Japanese were extremely, extremely influenced by the Chinese(just as much as the Filipinos were influenced by the West). Not to mention, the tremendous influence the West has had on Japan. There is no such thing as a 100% pure culture that existed in some distant, imaginary past.
Heck even the Japanaese language was brought to Japan by migrants/invaders from Mainland Asia about 2000-3000 years ago replacing the previous "indigenous" "Japanese" culture. The Ainu maybe perhaps the last remnant of that.
So the Filipino culture as it exists in 2023 is just as valid as any that existed on the island in 1523 AD or even 1523 BC.
Japanese have many traditional cooking, sushi 🍣 master needs ten years of experience just to master there respective arts, and they are few who follow to be a chef so sad to say that time for master sushi chefs will be endangered culture because of some reason, evolution of new era. I want to see culture food preserve but you can't force someone to go through a path which they don't really want.

As an Asian precisely Cambodian who lives overseas, I understand both side. But you have to know that some Cambodians are extremely sensitive when it comes to Thailand and thai culture due to history, so by down play Cambodian food to uplift Thai cuisine we could not expect much more of a reaction than this. Indeed he is an Asian but not a Cambodian as you said in the video if someone downplays your culture you will not be happy abt it but if it’s your people it would be different. Much more is the fact that he is known internationally while Cambodia is a not so popular country, it could really affect Cambodia’s future tourism and people’s perspective of the country even though it is only a comedy. If you decide to make a joke you should be well informed or if not at least apologize later after being informed. I really like him and definitely not his hater I love the way that he embraces Asian culture for Asian outside Asia but I don’t really like the way he approaches this situation.

I added someone from Australian pretty long ago in a gaming platform, and he added me and we played games online together, he asked me where i am from, I told him i am from Singapore. He straight away got in "Haiyah" as a response, i think he mixed up Malaysia and Singapore lol. But I somehow become proud that Asian being recognized by him as an icon to the western part of the world. I enjoyed his comedy and laughter!
