This helps so much! I just moved here with my girlfriend and found limited fishing areas online! Thank you so much! You added about 4 more fishing spots to my itinerary
Great information Vernon. This should be a sponsored video to new fishermen in the the city of Las Vegas. I could see you on NDOW's website now. Keep up the good work bud. Tight lines
@@FinallyFishing nobody else on here is posting the detailed fishing info you do. You should look into leading guided trips from Vegas! No joke, we would certainly pay for it.
Actually homeless/vagabond in Vegas and this will fit in great with my adventures lol. Been documenting it too so maybe some fishing content in future. Thanks!
Yes, thanks Luis. Did not forget it but choose to not include it. If I do, the I need to add, virgin river, muddy river, pahranagat... Had to stop somewhere.
A few of those ponds really looked good, and it's sad that we can't fish them. But maybe they look good because they aren't fished? I am just glad we can go fishing.
We will be in Vegas later this month. I would like to catch largemouth and trout. We will have a car. From a time perspective worth it to check out these ponds in Vegas or drive outside the city? Looking for quick trips of a couple hours, not all day. Thank you!
Hope you have a good time in Vegas Michael! It's going to be hot, so if you are looking for trout, I would suggest Cold Creek in the morning and maybe looking at mount Charleston on the way back. Bass might be worth a trip to Lake mead and having a swim.
@@FinallyFishing where would you go to catch a cut throat trout? I have never caught one before. I also want to catch at least one bass within the city limits of Vegas.
@@barco581 There is only one spot near Vegas for Cutthrout, Carpenter canyon. It's a small dirt road(4x4) into the spring mountains. Your best bet for bass in the city limits would be floyd Lamb park.
@@FinallyFishing thank you again so much. So I guess we will not take our convertible rental car up to Carpenter Canyon! Really hoping for a trout and a Vegas city limits bass.
You would think that should be covered in the Resort fees. I often thought it would be nice to have a pond and a rent tackle stand at like the Mirage for fishing. People would love that.
Would be a nice idea if one of the lakes on the strip was converted and stocked for fishing. Charge people to fish there and rent out poles. But somethings does not stay in Vegas.
It's always been allowed, but yeah, people often look down on fisherman and will ask security to chase you away. Specially when using baits. But if you get all dressed up and try for bass, they don't seem to mind that much.
I do understand your sentiment. I stopped picking up other peoples trash after 6 months of fishing here. That being said, If I compare the lakes and ponds to those back in South Africa, the water here is pretty good. Yes it can be better and we need to do our part, but take the small victories too.
After 15 long years of wanting to go fishing. This year I'm finally fishing. Great channel name.
That's the spirit 702 Mechanic. Hope you make the time to get out there and tight lines brother.
Really cool video, Vernon. I'm sure it was a lot of work putting together but it's so interesting and must have been quite the adventure.
Yeah, it is a real surprising amount of water for a desert. Also a lot of places you can't fish.
I appreciate the effort and all the gas put in to get to each spots to let us know fishing is not allowed there. Very useful information.
Thanks 702 Mechanic, it helps to know where to go.

Now that's what I like to hear, good luck out there bud.

Thanks D Jr. I think we should leave that to the pro's! 😃

Great video vernon.
Thanks Marco!
Visiting the gramps for a week and hoping to get some fishing in. Thanks for the info, great video and very informative!!
Good Stuff Fishboy, hope you get some fish out there.
This must've took you all day driving around. Good job buddy and thank you
Indeed Irvin, I would not suggest a Vegas pond hopping trip.
Great video to watch. Super informative. Great job
Thanks Ronald!

Not a bad idea, all you need is one rod and you could have a good time. Thanks $HAM!
Very informative video. Thumbs up.
Thank you!
You forgot Bowman Reservoir in Logandale.
Yes, thanks Luis. Did not forget it but choose to not include it. If I do, the I need to add, virgin river, muddy river, pahranagat... Had to stop somewhere.
Excellent video now we need a video on how to get these places open to fishing that aren’t 😅🤔

You're the man Vernon!
Thanks Blake
Thanks so much.... great information
You are so welcome Bryan!
How do we get large mouthbass restocked at the twin lakes?
That is a discussion to be had with the NDOW.
How much is the fishing permit for Lake Las Vegas and where I can buy it?
You don't need a permit to fish there, only to film. But just know that you will get strange looks from the people around there.
Thank you so much for this video!!!
Glad it was helpful!

It would be so cool if theyd stock the bellagio pond... lets do it ourselves

Thank you, I really enjoyed this video. I was like What? you can fish on the strip??? 😄😄😄🎣💙

Hope it helps Darnell.
Vernon since when does Lake Las Vegas allow the public to fish ??? Is this a new thing ? Yrs ago i always got chased out by security .
It's always been allowed, but yeah, people often look down on fisherman and will ask security to chase you away. Specially when using baits. But if you get all dressed up and try for bass, they don't seem to mind that much.
Quite a few options despite the no-go areas.
A lot of water for a desert out here, but Lake Mead is feeling the burden.
LOL Vernon! I though you were going to fish the fountains of Bellagio!
Now that would be a sight. Can't believe the hotels have not stocked and charge people for fishing there.
Lake Las Vegas is allowed?
The last email contact I got from them back in 2019 they said, sure you can fish there. Just don't post about it on social media.
We should go fishing!
Lol, you should go fishing jessejay85
Notice how all the public fishing places are garbage. Believe it or not, years ago, Sunset Park and Floyed Lamb were crystal clear ponds.

I accidentally fished in the lower pond at veterans memorial... oops lol caught a little fish
Oopsy, well I ain't the law, what did you catch? I have seen some big carp in that pond.
What part of Mexico are you from? 😂😂😂
The Southern end of the African continent part? 🤔
This was such a terribly pointless video.
Each to his own Amber. This video would have saved me a few trips when I got to Vegas.
