Glad you found it helpful! I try to be right to the point in all my videos, but for my Quick Tech Tips these are meant to be about exactly how to do one thing without any extra steps or extended added commentary.
Nice video but I am pretty sure my echo dot is hosed. I have not used it in around a year due to that amazon sidewalk feature. A friend wanted to buy it off of me for 15 dollars. I tried to power it back on to do a factory reset and all I get is the solid blue ring. I hold the action button for 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 3 minutes, does not matter. Usually it powers itself off and back on or it ignores my button press. I never get the orange ring or setup mode. I try to connect it with my alexa app and it does not see it yet my router shows an IP address is assigned to it. I then block its access to the router as that SHOULD not be needed just to do a factory reset and does not matter. So I got a new paper weight
I got exactly the same frustrating issue. I also didnt use if for about a year but now trying to set it up within a new netwerk. Can't do anything with it. Did you get any further with it?
thanks for the suggestion but since it's 4 years old and out of warranty, Amazon support offered little help other than what websites already say to do. Pull ac power for 5 minutes, test with different adapter but to not use a universal adapter, as if I have extra echo specific adapters lying around. Nah, I pretty much give up
@@KevinF I have the same issue after 4 years! It's working simply won't connect to my WiFi network any more, had it hard reset so many times... Amazon just want us to buy new ones

Another helpful video! I love that these are right to the point and don’t take 10 minutes to explain something that takes a couple minutes only

hmmmm yea that is a strange one. You could try reaching out to Amazon support (if you haven't already) to see if they have any suggestions.

Me too. Very frustrating.
Thank you
Can it do anything to the echo i want to erase it because sometimes it dont work I heard ppl saying it dont want to update
Factory wiping will just remove your account and all data to it. You'll then have to re-add it to a Amazon account to use the echo.
@@BeardedTechGuy thanks
Thank you 🙏🏻

Mine spins blue and white and wont respond buttons or voice. 3 days I’ve been trying to reset it.
Toggling the mute button doesn't do anything correct?
