Don't get me wrong, Cliff's music holds it own whatever era but, there is something about the mid 70's to early 80's where he was just on it. Every song was a winner. Thanks Cliff for such great memories and sounds all my life.
100%
My favourites are Devil Woman, Carrie and Wired for Sound
@@TheHumbuckerboy omg yes. I like all his stuff from that era, We Don't Talk Anymore, Dreamin, Miss You Nights, Some People, Pretty One, Suddenly, eh I could go on and on, the list is a long one.
@@tinaperez7393 I also like The Only Way Out plus when I was a young child I owned Power to All Our Friends
It was down to the conscious decision of Cliff's management team to create a consistent sound and therefore using the same writing/production team.
"Dreaming", "We Don't Talk Anymore" and "A Little in Love" marked Cliff's resurgence
I remember standing in the front of the mirror with a hairbrush when I was 15 singing this song, it's of my favourites & now I'm 53 where the hell have the years gone? Love you loads Sir Cliff Richard ❤
This will never catch on but I hope some day it will 👍
yes I know its scary isn't it.
I m 58 now. I wonder where they might be too! one thing is certain These songs and singers takes us back in time when life was so simple and blissful,,,thank you Cliff
Lesley,Hi,I was 16 old when the song hit south America countrys, obviously we didn't understand English, but the melody and the swing was enough to keep it listening, now 22 years later that I'm in North Hemisphere, what a great experience singing this song with my fluid English
Constantemente me hago esa misma pregunta....
Cliff Richard has a home right here on the beautiful island of Barbados. It's 2024 April 7th 9:30 pm and I'm enjoying this music immensely
This song is just as great, maybe better than it was 40 yrs ago! Cliff Richard was the bomb.
The best thing about these old songs is that they evoke so many good memories and they just make you happy for that moment. I miss the 80s...
Absolutely. Im not a fan of cliff richard , but the memories of this song, just turned 14, met my first love, ah great times circ 1980.
You are so right !!!
It’s crazy to me how long it’s been since I’ve heard this song- the radio stations that play songs from the 80s never play this one. It’s just been lost in time to me. So when it suddenly popped into the background of an old movie I’m watching I just had this … almost …out of body experience that put me back in the 6th grade. I remembered eating a bag of homemade Chex mix leftover from a Christmas party my parents held, I could see around my room and feel the dark frozen winter outside my window…and I’m unbelievably emotional all of the sudden because of it. I almost feel like I just had past life therapy regression or something. That was insane.
@@givemeahappyending its ok. I know what u mean.
Exactly
Who still Loves this song in 2023?, ME ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We have 2024 honey. 😘
but me too. 😉
I love this song.
But it's still not the Same 😊@@ripuli3599
Me 2 marvelous beautiful song ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Eu em 2024 curtindo esta música aqui no Sul do Brasil !
I sometimes feel as if I'm the only one who remembers the early 80's. Music is time travel for me. I hear this song and i am immediately transported back to winter 1981 -- 4th grade. I walked to school then and I always stopped at Earl's Grill, right across from Arlington Elementary. I would watch these two guys shoot pool and hope they'd leave a few balls on the table for me to put away. Earl's Grill had this very active jukebox and it was constantly blaring songs of that time: Rapture by Blondie, Starting Over by John Lennon, Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar -- and this song, among others. If a song from this particular time comes on and my eyes close and I seem to disappear, don't worry. I'm just visiting a vivid moment in my life. I'll be back in about 4 minutes or so.
The memories become more vivid as we get older....but I forget why I went into the kitchen...😜
You hit the nail on the head. We are the same age. I was in 4th grade in twin falls idaho. I remember looking out the school window at bickle elementary, and mrs Whitehead had the radio on and this was playing. Great times.
Celebration by Kool &the Gang & 9to5 by Dolly Pardon were also big hits at that time
i was 13 in middle school, president Reagan had just been shot. My grams had died 6 months before. the boy i liked didn't like me... drama every where. i hated the town we lived in. mom and dad moved us from the farm and all of our animals and horses. (i understand why now but at 13..). i had no real friends. i spent a lot of time at the library and in my moms idea oh a way to make the move smoother, a holly hobby themed bedroom...i could never have had friends over anyway. i would have been teased instead of ostracized. holy smokes i was not happy.. where the hell did that come from. no it wasn't that bad looking now because i understand..but i didn't realize i was pissy about it. weird things like songs, trigger weirder things.

@@TheHumbuckerboyReally? Makes sense. Great song.
Don't forget Ocean deep.
This guy has a ton of talent and a bunch of good songs. They'll never ever be able to reproduce the time when these songs were made but at least we have them to listen to to take us back! 52 and not ashamed to be rocking on some Cliff Richard
49 and not ashamed either😉
60 and loved it my senior year and still do
Amen
Same here....👍.... Turned 60, last month.
57 and still love his songs and performances ... God bless Cliff !
1980 was a standout year for music and to me, this is the standout song of that year. Pure perfection!
The year I graduated from high school
Its hard to believe that he is 40 here. He looks about 28. They don't let many 40 year old artists on the radio anymore. Great song performed by a great singer. Thanks Cliff.
Sir Cliff, your voice spontaneously comes to my mind - for no apparent reason other than it is magnificent and brings joy to the world. What a great song. Thanks so much.
I miss the 60s 70s * & the 80s all the best years & the best ever music. & we were a whole lot freer. I am very blessed to have lived in the best years.👍👍👍👍👍👍
Such a great song they don't make songs like this anymore.
ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO LISTEN...ANOTHER GREAT SONG ...WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PERIOD...U DON T HEAR SUCH SONGS ANYMORE ....WE LOST THE BEAUTY OF MELODICITY...ONLY CRAPS THESE DAYS...!!!!..'.U WERE GIFTED BY GOD....TO PLEASE US WITH YOUR SONGS AND YOUR VOICE !!!!
absolutely true; English music lost its old glory

This is one of my many favorite Cliff Richards songs. God Bless you Sir Cliff in all the good work you have done selflessly for others. You are my friends idol. Love and Prayers from Canada 🇨🇦❤🙏🕊🌞🌻
Hi Kimberley hope you're okay?
Early 80's dreaming when life was simple & innocent,making $2,25 / hour minimum wage & still you could live decently,no internet,no cell phone,no politics,no viruses,today making $20/ hour, can't even live decently,fighting high cost of live,corrupt politics,viruses,crime,,how I miss my 80's😂😂😞😒
The only thing I dislike about this song, is that it ENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song transports me to a time I wasn't even around to see. I guess that is the power of music.
The power of dreamin'.

I was 15 years old when this came out. I always loved his look at this stage in his life. Extremely handsome and very cool. But what an incredible voice. Sends shivers down my spine.. love this as I did back in 1980

I had forgotten about this song. It's been 40 years. There was still great music in the 80's.
Cliff really lived the songs, what a performer !
Thank you so much. This is one of my magic songs.
The life thing associated with it that made it magic is long forgotten, but the magic is as strong as ever every single time I hear it today. I have to stop what I'm doing, thinking or saying, and just savour that feeling again, because it won't let me do anything else until it's done.
I'm sure you've done this to a lot of other people, and I'm sure they're as greatful as I. Thank you Sir - you've touched lives.
What a beautiful face, voice. In the 50's he was England's Elvis...here he is in the late 1970's looking like he was in his 20's. Like he had a time machine...
porcelaincougar He was in his freaking 70s here ?
@@duanethomas5511, Cliff was born in 1940.

Love the memories but seize the future. As Talk Talk said, Life's What You Make It!
Many people here praising both Cliff and Leo Sayer. Your ears should be telling you, even if your memory does not, that mr ALAN TARNEY is "At The Controls" on this and MANY other cliff singles from this period (1979/80).Thank you A.T.
Still one of my all-time favorite songs
I love singing along with your songs.❤🎶🎶🎶
I was very young listening to this song whenever it popped up on the radio. Always loved the tune, but never knew who sang it and later in life the song would be in my head once in a great while. Then through the magic of UA-cam i Just clicked it because I respect Cliff Richard never knowing he sang this song. Great childhood memories of listening to it.

Damn...what a great song!
When I was a kid and heard this on the radio in the early 80s, I was fascinated with that line in the song “I’m gonna dream you right into my life” It always stuck out.. it gave me chills ...I used to sing it over and over in my head .. I thought it was magical ... 🤩

What a great song! I love it! I was 16 years old back when this tune was on my favorite radio station. They had this song in their heavy rotation. Do you blame them? It’s a great song! 🎹🎤🎹
I liked this song when it came out but am honestly appreciating it more now. I am just becoming familiar with who Cliff Richard is and think he's an all-around class act. I just love his voice and his performances are great to watch. He's just got that special something.
I'm 50 and only heard this song for the first time a couple days ago, thanks to 80s on 8 on Sirius XM. Thankful for satellite radio with DJs who can cherry pick the hidden gems without input from advertisers.

Dreaming to be back to 80's
С наступающим Вас Днём рождения, уважаемый Клифф!!! Спасибо за Ваше творчество!!! Большой привет из Литвы!!!
I know right. Simply. ROCKS. Underrated
Imagine, if you will, a journey into sight and sound...a journey to a far away place that now only exists in the minds of most people that grew up in the 70's and 80's...an amazing place where you turned on the radio and listened to the latest songs from local bands like Australian Crawl, Cold Chisel, The Angels, The Flowers/Ice House, The Radiators, The Sunny Boys, Divinyls and so many more. I don't have a time machine unfortunately, but music has the power to instantly take you back to a time (and usually a place) when you heard that song for the first time. This is one of my flashback songs (along with the Go-Go's Our Lips are Sealed).
Extraordinaria canción con un magistral sonido, sin dejar de lado las hermosas letras, disfrutémosla.
The year it came out I remember travelling from Ireland to France with my father driving to Rome. It has such a powerful emotion bringing me back to it all. Such a lovely song.
I was blessed to be a kid growing up in the 80s. I was only 7 when this came out but I remember it on the radio in my mom’s car. Such a great time in my life I wish I could go back. I’m the father of an almost 3-year-old and I remember my father telling me how music takes him back to his youth back to when I was a baby and I hope to pass this on to my son when he’s older.

Ive been binging Cliff Richards in 2020. He just turned 80 and fell in love with him again in a recent interview. Such a beautiful voice and talent.
He's turning 80 in october.
Yes It's me again. I have been so blessed with fact that I was born into a world of music that turned me on to Prog Rock, Fusion , Jazz, classical, and so on. Don't do the current stuff. But I guess there's room for everything.
Who wants to come with me....hit the button time machine
LETS GO... BACK IN TIME!!!!!
I watched him perform this on the night of his 40th birthday in London. I find it astonishing that it's 40 years ago.. Time is very deceptive.
Wow that just took me right back to being a kid! I haven't heard this song in forever. It's funny how songs from childhood come rushing back to you out of the depths of memory. I had no idea it was Cliff Richard who sang it.
