@@shannonfickies8481 You'll learn so much and I bet you'll be as glad you did it as I have been! I feel very confident in my crochet skills because of the certification!
I teach crochet, but I'm not certified. I would like to be. I just started the CGOA Master's Program. I'll look into this as a second certification. I want bragging rights, but mostly, I want to teach correctly.
I had never heard of this program until watching your "How to make money form crochet" video, and this was really helpful! I think I'm going to have to learn a few more stitches (I tend to avoid the 3D stitches because they aren't my jam) but this sounds worth doing.
Yes, I had heard of the program through the Craft Yarn Council years ago. I'm thinking of teaching crochet at a school. I found this video from watching your "plan with me" video. I appreciate your detailed info about the program. Seeing your materials makes me even more interested in the program! I like your tip that you'll learn proper techniques. The website mentions the master teacher mentor but doesn't mention the Facebook group. It sounds like a great summer project!
That's wonderful!! I'm so glad I took this course and became a certified crochet instructor. I learned so much and I have a lot more confidence when I'm teaching. 🧶🧶🧶
I'm totally going to look into this! Im so excited!! I've always been worried that I dont "crochet the right way".. hold my hook wrong etc... so this will be perfect just to hone my skills as well as start teaching! I've had a few homeschool groups ask me to teach...

Thanks so much, Dawn! I know that it is available to US and Canadian citizens. I don't think those outside those two countries are eligible. I wonder if there are other governing boards like the Craft Yarn Council based in Europe that offer this type of course. I also know that there is a Master Crocheter certificate that you can earn, for those who want to prove proficiency in crochet techniques but aren't interested in the teaching aspect. That is through the Crochet Guild of America, I believe. I will check that out and get back to you!

I have thought about this for a long time. Really appreciate this video! I do have a question. I have never blocked before, I didn't know that you can block acrylic yarn. Did you use acrylic for the samples? I taught 5 girls in 1 family a couple of years ago and was really unsure about what I was doing. However they did very well! Oh, another question, is is hard to keep up with the program, do they give you enough time to complete everything? Shawna
