The bearings in Dt Dwiss hubs get hammered in... There's no difference between hammering and pressing as long as you don't hammer it when it's already seated. Id hammer it in and stop before it's seated. That way you can get the right preload when the wheel is mounted in the frame. Also the weird sound is probably due to the grease. When the little pawls get to much grease in between body and pawl it can prevent the pawl from moving all the way and therefore your not using the whole surface of it and it's easier to slip. 8:35 ouch, was that wound on your hand from shock?
Haha as gross as it sounds, it's a wart that Ive been dealing with for a year and had just cut it off for the 10th time
I9 Hydra hubs are overrated. I’ve had nothing but problems with mine. Broken axles, premature bearing wear and random creaks. Been using my Hunt wheels as primary now. Anyway, fun video 🤙🏻
Lol, didn't knew this dudes had they're overpriced faulty hubs updated. Are they any reliable now?
Made in the USA = we have to cut costs for the higher labour costs. Made in Canada = lower labour costs, send it north ;)
Wages suck in the USA.
hi can you test CAPRA CORE 2 BLACK MAGIC plic i love your kantent
Remove the valve pin and poke using a long pin instead of cutting off that tire .
I did and it wouldn't go through! Never seen it before
Calling industry 9 hubs subpar is crazy
get Schwalbe tyres they the best
i wanted to put a volume spacer in my fox dps and forgot to put out the air😁😐
Haha that's scary! Did it explode
@@EvansMTBSaga yea hopefully it was on the bike
The hydras are some of the best hubs in the business lol the onyx are the mushy trash hubs
I have had sprag flex with Onyx. The newer ones break in though and it's not noticeable
I9 hydras are like a European sports car. Good when they work, but annoying and expensive to keep working. Axle, bearing, pawl issues etc. DT Swiss is my go to. Haven't had a set long enough to need to replace bearings even at over 10k miles. No issues with anything else on the hubs either. Another con/issue is the dumonde grease does quiet things down but it will now randomly slip/pop under some loads, so, that's not great...
poor man's bearing press: socket set.
Went in pretty smoothly too!!
don't part it out man, keep it for yourself :)
Do you have a bike laying around that you don’t want? If you do, could I have it, my bike isn’t working, even with repairs.
