so stoked i was able to ride some of these features after our day of hesitation at Sundance! YEW!
Nice man, that drop is more intimidating than it looks on youtube. I notice you use a little "hop" going off the drops, which is a legit technique. But I'd recommend dialing in more of a weight transfer to the rear of the bike to unweight the front as you roll off the edge, tons of stuff on youtube that describe it better than me. It's a more controlled feeling technique and really helped my drop progression. I almost never do a hop off drops anymore unless I need distance and am much more confident and consistent because of it. I think it comes down to what you are comfortable with, but it's worth looking into. Keep up the great riding and love the videos :)
the force is strong with this one
Haha!
Always the best camerawork! That jump was pure stoke and no joke! Lesss gooo
ha pure stoke and no joke! awesome
Let’s goooooo!!! I so LOVE watching your progression journey! You have such a great mindset for it as well. Huge kudos! You’re quickly becoming a great rider, keep it up!!!
Shawn thanks so much for the encouragement and support. I’m having so much fun and that’s why we’re out there!
Great job man! I figured given your background you’d advance pretty quickly, but it’s still amazing just how fast. Awesome to see the stoke! It feels so good to get over a feature for the first time. I’d love to see you get a new bike set up for yourself! Keep it up Bud! And as Bentoville’s Rich Drew always says, “Preride. Re-ride. Free ride!”
Thanks so much man! I’ll get a bike eventually - just kind of a daunting decision with a lot of $$
@@LucasCatania17 I gotcha man. Hardest thing for me was stopping at just ONE.😜 I have a hard tail and a full susp. I’d definitely recommend a full suspension for you to start😁.
@@LucasCatania17 Def. not an expert myself by any means, but look into the Polygon Siskiu T8 or Colossus N9. All around solid value bikes for a price that is friendly to someone just getting into the sport.
Love the fact you want to push yourself but not to the point that you will get injured.
I love watching these mountain biking videos. Keep them coming!
Thanks Josh! Glad you like them
Yewwww! The drops look so big from above, but when you show the view from below, you just flow nice and smooth making it look easy.
Yeww thanks man!
Did you hear me yelling “Go Lucas!” on that first drop?! Great job! 😎💜
Haha thank you!!
Starts mountain biking and hits double blacks and big drops first season. Amazing progression
That’s what you call confidence 👊🏾BAM
Ha! I dunno if I’d say that!
I think I got the biggest smile after you sent that drop!! I’m glad you rolled up to it to see it, as it always gives a visual! So awesome to see your progress! Can’t wait to see you take this to deer valley! Would love to see you ride here more with maybe a demo bike to see and feel the difference of a bike that can handle that stuff so much more then the trek! Cheers!!🔥
yoo thanks so much bro! i went to DV today and did new black tech trails and my first double black!
@@LucasCatania17 heck yeah!! Super stoked to watch that one!! can’t wait!! Any update on a bike??
Well done man.
Congrats.
Awesome dude! I don’t know how far you are from Draper but there are some awesome trails out that direction. Back before I moved to Maryland, Levitate & Vertigo trails where some of my favorite. I heard that the upgraded them and added some sick new features too. Stay safe!
I’ve heard those are sick man! Would love to check it out one day.
Every time I’m there, that first drop definitely scares me and keeps people away. Thanks for the video. Definitely looks much more approachable after I get a full face helmet..
It was intimidating for sure! Couldn’t imagine doing it without a full face haha
Love this series! Would be amazing if you filmed something explaining how you learned / what works for you. Just beginning right now and I think it’s be super valuable to hear from a recent beginner on how they learned vs those who’ve been experts for years
that would be a good idea! ill see what i can do!
LETS GOOOOOOOO
Thank you brother!
This man goes out there every single day, of course you're going to see progression when you can go do this every single day without stress of a job. This man is living a life many can only dream of. It would be interesting to see the finances behind the scenes, what you spend on the building out the van, biking, passes, housing, skis, etc. That''s half the battle and why most of us don't do this 24/7.
Eh I’m in park city, Im biking almost every day and I still suck so there’s that
Nice bike park.....good progress your jumps are cool ...I enjoyed your video ...good work.
Thank you pat!
Way to go , not letting your fears conquer you ! Let’s Go!
Thanks bro! Trying to keep pushing
This looks great! When I went from BMX to MTB I would just send it, and a few times that ended up with me eating it. (not bad but still) It's so cool they have those progression runs.
As long as you’re all good man haha
Nice job!! So sick watching your progression
Thanks Paul! Doin my best
I definitely ate it my first time off that drop. Thought I had enough speed but realized I was going too slow once I got to the flat part. Tried to do a little panic pedal and didn’t work out. Trail side is such a great spot to progress!
bummer man hope you were all good! speed is definitely your friend there haha
Your progression is insane man! Big props! Hope to catch you at DV soon
Thanks dude! Def gonna be out at DV!
Excellent video ! I see you have a stoke squad sticker on the bike : ) I look forward to those coming out soon for us members. It is so impressive seeing how far and how fast you have come in that sport. I think your skiing has really given you a strong base to build from. I wonder if you will see differences in your skiing this season.
Thanks Bryan! Stickers will be available soon. Having so much fun on the bike and that’s why we’re out there!
You're crushing this! It's been really cool to see your progression. I had a similar fear of drops and sessioned that drop at the "Tar Pits" for countless reps before hitting the squirrel catcher drop at the top of "Bamm Bamm." Felt like I was reliving that moment. So stoked for you!!
Ah dude that’s so sick! We sessioned the same drops haha
That was awesome...
Thanks dude!
Mtn Biking is so sick, and its cool to watch your progression! Please keep making these man 🙏
Thanks dude! Glad you like them!
Bamm bamm is always 🔥
So much fun man!
Another great video! I have to say, I think this is my fav of the MTB series so far. I could really feel your fear, and as a relatively new MTB rider myself, I could 💯 relate to the fear of doing a big drop! Ok, maybe for some that’s not a big drop, haha! I see a tail whip in your near future 🤔
I appreciate that man! I did my best to communicate the suspense and build of trying to tackle the drop!
Awesome progression Lucas! You need to make a pnw/whistler trip now lol.
Haha maybe next year I will man
Dude the progression is insane, I started mtb like 3 years ago and I havent been able to hit drops half that size. Insane man
Nah I bet you can man! It’s really all so mental more than anything!
Keep them coming ❤ the bike vids
Still think your owe bike you’ll ride better. Love the progression that’s pretty cool. You have d
Definitely improved since it’s just story writing not long ago.
Thanks bon! Definitely need to get my own bike..
hahahaha...NICE. Hey, quick tip...if you go down ( crash ), if possible - try and roll into it. Do NOT....put your hands out in front of you. Collar-bones don't like sudden impacts down the length of the arm and Ski season is coming. Haere ra bro!
Very good tip. Thanks dude!
Hell ya Lucas
Thanks dude!
Crazy to see how fast you are progressing.
Just taking it slow and doing my best dude.
You gotta go ride powder mountain bike park man!! It’s a blast!
I was there once but definitely need to go back!
Damn dude. You're getting good! I don't do MTB, but I still love the vids. Trying to figure out a way to get up to RA next weekend. Kids have sports going on. Is Friday practice worth coming up for. I am only an hour away.
Practice is still cool! Can still see the cars and whatnot. Walk around the paddock. Definitely a lot going on, you just don’t have that race day energy
Love it mate, your progression is insane. Going to Aspen and Deer Valley this winter, which runs or areas would you recommend for an advanced freeride skier?
Thanks so much man!
For aspen: definitely check out aspen highlands. One of the steepest mountains I’ve been to overall and snowmass is really fun too. You can rock the cirque or the hanging head wall for some gnarly stuff
Deer valley: definitely check out the Daly chutes off empire express and lady Morgan has some steepish tree skiing too!
Way to conquer your fear man! That’s was sick!!
Haha thanks dude. Had to go for it!
had to watch a skiing video before this.. i guess my mind is still in winter;)
Ha I’m ready for snow!
@@LucasCatania17 Think snow;)
It looks like speed was your friend on that last lap..
That drops a huge deal
😂😂
I am impressed! This is your first year riding, right?
Yeah probably have around 10 days on the bike so far!
Go to Woodward park city and do the bike lift
That would be fun!
My eyes couldn't handle the magnitude of W's this video had. Red Bull sponsorship here we come 😤
Hahaha yeah right dude! I do love Red Bull though..
@@LucasCatania17 Coconut edition undefeated
you don’t ride clips right? i don’t like them :/
no, just flats!
Great job! Man, u have really progressed fast... I'm jealous! You remind me of my buddy @wadeinamerica778... Fearless!
Thanks dude! I definitely wouldn’t say fearless! I’m scared like crazy every time I’m on the bike!
