- Dungeon Master warns the kids that they are about to face the most difficult trial of their lives. The others are shocked when Hank turns out to be a traitor, not only to them, but to his own courage and insight. Fortunately it is this that leads him to redemption.

If you watch carefully at the very end of "Eric holding on for dear life", they threw down rope to him.
It's okay, if he falls, he can use his shield to block the ground.

The whole series has been great, but episode 14 is where the writing became awesome! My sisters, and I watched these every Saturday morning in the 80's, the same time I had discovered the game at a local book store. I begged my Mom to buy it for me, and she relented. My friends and I would play on the floor for hours, and I was dungeon master :) My favorite module was the Dragonlance one. Soon after, back In those days, overly zealous religious parents were freaking out over D&D. Anyone remember that propaganda film that came out in which the kid goes crazy after playing D&D? I am so happy I reconnected with this show, it brings back so many happy warm emotions.
I assume that the overly zealous response to the game is why the producers of this show were careful and, for instance, there's no cleric in this particular party of adventurers. :)

Indeed, i admit i didn't like the earlier episodes that much, they were okay bzt rather curiosities...
But mid season the show got really good!

The star wars reference is strong with this one. Even Dungeon Master reminds you of Yoda.
This was 1 year after Return of the Jedi so obvious comparisons made by the writers and animators

Awesome episode! The Bear tribe was cute I will admit lol. Still, the main theme of it is loyalty. Shelia did judge Hank too quickly. Hank did what he had to do for Bobby's sake. She could not have known the circumstances. Still, he should have let them in on the plan even if he could not say it.

I used to love this cartoon I wanted to pretend I was Eric or Hank but the one that I had the hots for was Diana to this day I still love this cartoon.

Although the Cloud Bears and the Ewoks were independent creations i'm pretty sure. The episode aired in 1984, just about a year after Return of the Jedi. At this time, lead time for cartoon production was just about a year, so though it's possible the Cloud Bears were based on the Ewoks, it's equally possible the two were a case of parallel creation.

Wow, did Sheila turn on Hank quickly! Many, myself included, thought that they had a little thing for each other. But after this? Wouldn't even consider someone who could think that poorly of me in a snap judgement. Yikes. Years of friendship, flushed. Move on, Hank. Move on.
I don't think any of them were written to have anything with each other. Diana did cuddle with Hank in the prison episode (timestamped in the comment section), which I found was kind of as close as affection would get hahah. I relit your nostalgia again, you're welcome.
Lol. Hank definitely had to have a lot of patience and stamina to deal with Sheila's constant insecure histrionics. lol. But yeah, there was definitely something going on there.

100%. Grew up watching this. There is not a single cartoon which comes remotely close. I’ve never understood why Hollywood never made a film based on this cartoon. It’s honestly superb.
@@Darkknight21789 Because it is objectively not very good. You may personally subjectively like it, but there is nothing unique about it. It is quite similar to other shows in the same time period, features subpar voice acting and dialogue, and uncreative writing and unoriginal plotlines. Besides the title and some shared namesakes with some of the monsters there is nothing about this show that connects it with the tabletop game.
Sure, within the echo chamber which is the youtube comments section a lot of people are going to like it and defend it, but in the real world you have shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show, We Bare Bears, Looney Toons, Amazing World of Gumball, Chowder, and Samurai Jack among many others such as numerous anime such a Death Note, Naruto, Dragonball, Bleach, and One Piece.
Standing next to those, this show is creatively bankrupt. You're being dishonest to defend your nostalgia, or you are truly ignorant and have no taste for quality. If we include adult animated shows, there's Bojack Horseman, Futurama, Archer. If we're talking exclusively shows that were around at the same time then Scooby Doo blows this out of the water and it isn't even anywhere close. Who are you fooling?
I mean come on, do you really think this could stand up to SpongeBob SquarePants or Gravity Falls? This is just a dime a dozen cash grab from the eighties which seemingly goes out of it's way to disregard and disrespect the core material that's responsible for it's existence. It's just another 1980s low-effort low-budget slop series of twenty minute long toy advertisements (The only reason Uni is here). If you remove your rose-colored glasses, you'd see that.

Love the bear life .. elevators, tree existence, wholesome eating, gemstones that can kill the realms greatest threat.

A versão que eu estou subindo no UA-cam tem cerca de 600MB por episódio, o que daria um total de ~16GB. Posso também converter novamente e reduzir pela metade o tamanho, por exemplo. Só o widescreen (16:9) que não tem como ser, já que o desenho foi produzido em "full screen" (4:3) nos anos 80.

Infelizmente na edição nacional não tem legendas em inglês, apenas em português. Estou pra comprar uma das edições importadas pra conseguir as legendas. Actually, I'll say one thing about this episode - the idea of Venger declaring war on a tribe of (basically) Ewoks is hilarious.
Venger being taken out by 'Heartstones' is his equivalent of Darth Vader's 'NOOOOOOOOOO' moment. Good grief 🤦♀️
