I'm guessing you've never heard of South African superstar Bruce Fordyce? He win the Comrades Marathon (88 KMS) like 10 times in just over 5 hours, 30+ years ago. That run attracts about 30,000 athletes. Maybe look it up?
Ultramarathons are underrated the Marathon gets all the glory due to the Africans also there is little to no $$$ to make in the Ultrarunning world even if your professional i highly doubt there are millionaires who are Ultrarunners.
There is only one question to wonder : is the course on which he ran that time certified for a world record !? If not, there is no world record to talk about. Moreover, a world record has to be ratified before being registered in the books. In matter of world records, it is often better to look at the ones already in the books rather than the new hypothetical ones.
I don't know........I wonder if one of these Kenyan's or Ethiopians or whatever that have been running these 2 hour marathons, if they trained for a 50 mile race, could easily break 4:48.......I think we would see some of them run a sub 4 hour and 30 minute 50 mile time imho.........but, please, I'm not taking anything away from this Lawrence guy! Kudos and congrats to him as yet another distance world record falls this year..........
Let him go to the Comrades Marathon to measure how truly good this is. The average pace for that race is similar year in and year out, over 89km of a brutally undulating course.
the only reeeeson this is what it iss.....no-$$$$$$ involved.......nothin but-yup-dopping e, africans wood dominate!!!!!soo..take it with a grain a salt!!!!!
Charlie is a Beast! Hyped for him
Hi spencer
Great cameo you and the devil 😈
Walmsley got the 50 mile record while running for the 100k record, which he fell short of.
Extremely good run, given his marathon PR of "only" 2:16. That means he trained and executed to perfection.
Wish I could do my half in this time🤣
This is a very respectable achievement!
I ran at Tunnel Hill too and it was awesome to see him fly by a couple times on the double out and back course.
Great that you covered this. I really appreciate what you bring to the track and the roads.
No one in the ultra world is underrating this record.
That's, like, 2:30 marathon pace for what's almost 2 marathons stacked back-to-back. Insanely good ... which is probably why it's a world record.
I wish more of your vids were this length! To the point!
He typically adds a lot of bs because you make more money when there are youtube ads mid-video
that is absolutely insane, i just did a time trial in the mile and i got 5:46, and this man just did that 50 times!!! thats crazy
This deserves a full main channel video
He
0:32 his training crew is what makes this Athlete Special 😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing!
My 50 mile trail time was 13:20 :)
This is close to what I want to see for 100k, which is 6hours, the math is so nice 18min per 5k or 5:47 pace
These stats are unbelievable 0:28
You ought to do more ultra videos.
thats absolutely mental, just to run 50 miles is astonishing but to do it while averaging over 10 mph is just mind blowing dam
Shoutout to Spencer in the B roll footage.

Insanity🔥

I completely agree
I’d be willing to bet Kilian Jornet is a multimillionaire.
Spam
Just wait till Africans start ultra running
Bro watched The Running Effect
This is just insane....
Wow!!!!

Walmsley could have gone faster had he not been in the crappy Carbon X. That is NOT a super shoe.
wow!
When you talk about his marathon time as his “speed” you’re getting up there in distance.
Why was Spencer brown at the start 😂😂

The Kenyans won't run any ultras because there is no money in it. No one cares about the ultras.

bro has just learned about ultramarathons kek
He's also training to beat the 100k WR later this year
Just wait until the Kenyans start doing those 50 mile runs. You’ll be seeing sub 4:15 hour runs.
That’s why Leon edwards has the most aesthetic physique
I feel like any marathoner in the top 100 in the world could break this record if they felt like it. There's just not any good incentive to do it.
Yup, that's crazy. But I wouldn't call it insane.
Can’t help but think that any East African could show up and destroy this record lmfao
This be kiptums longrun 😂😂😂😂
