@@MontuPlays Lucky for you, that 700 includes rank 2, so there's likely closer to 360 or so unique traits, and that likely includes negative traits, which would all go into F tier unless they're relegated to their own video, which hey, means that trait rank list may only be 340 or so. See, half as bad as it could be!

omg barin is adorable. so far my only issue is that like every time a new patch/dlc gets announced it entirely saps my motivation to play the game till the patch drops.
Same. I tried playing a game recently and either I’m too burned out since I just got the game recently and have been playing a lot or the upcoming dlc has completely destroyed my interest until it’s released
I suffered from this significantly from as far back as when I first started playing Minecraft to even fairly recently with games like Project Zomboid. Eventually I overcame it (to the point now where I will play on rollback until I complete my current play through before updating) by immersing myself in the game story more than the mechanics (yes, I want to play with the new features but the unique story of my current play through isn’t finished yet and I want to see how it ends).
I don’t think so. In the video uploaded by Stellaris, they said that the renowned leaders will come to you and join you, and there will be no specific event chain to getting them, unlike leaders like grey which require an anomaly and special project to gain
One custodian developer confirmed there will be new content for Grey (though in a future patch), so maybe the’ll go back and visit those older leaders.
Fat chance, this is typical Paradox half-assery, they just make a few unique paragons, not give a single thought to pre-existing content, and leave the rest to modders. Half of half-assery
I love this DLC already, I'm definitely more into the leaders and the Plantoid Legendary Paragon is actually a perfect fit for my Preservation of Life Empire, yes her power is extremely powerful but she might live the rest of her days within our empire being happy seeing another species spread life to the galaxy and restore worlds destroyed and ravaged of life into worlds that are living and breathing again.
I hope one of the Paragons will be immortal but he doesnt know why. Not by psionics, cybernetics or any other way. Just as a reference to immortal leader bug.
They should make gestalt have upgradeable leaders that use a resource gained by “server” buildings. It would really make you feel like your an AI in need of more processing power than just a more limited stellaris empire
This does look very interesting! With regards to gestalts, I feel like perhaps they could've taken some inspiration from characters like Locutus of Borg or Kerrigan, who start as individuals and then are integrated into a gestalt. In any case, though, I'm really looking forward to what modders can do with paragon leaders! This is basically a whole new category of mod that's now possible! It's especially great for the various IP mods (Star Wars, Star Trek, 40K, etc.) who now have a brand new way to add canon characters to the game.
Someone should convince Spiff to create his own paragon. Someone who learned from the finest Vultaum in how to tear the reality of Stellaris apart, perhaps.
Hey Montu, do you think we'll get a little bit more for the Council of Telepaths. Currently, they're just a flair word tossed into the popups that includes random members of your empire
Love these and I can't wait to see what mods can do. I can imagine a lot will add new ones and some replace the base ones to fit conversions and all that. If you're playing Star Wars or something you'd probably prefer to get stuff that fits into Star Wars. Wonder if the devs are planning on adding some more with time. Im down for more Renowned Paragons and Legendary Paragons down the line. Heck I hope they add more. I love this whole idea and more means more variety and flavor.
Can’t wait trigger deceptive giant event, get size 55 barren world and then use sad plant lady to terraform it to gaia world. And then turn it to ecumenopolis
I love Ramiel the Beholder, it's design is so cool! I love the orb at the center, like an all seeing eye, mysterious and unnerving, but also hypnotic and beautiful. In fact, we can really say that beauty is in the eye of the Beholder
A brutal militaristic slave empire with a resource focus under a Harkonnen governor sounds like a good fucking time. "My desert...my Arrakis...my Dune."
The sheer amount role-playing! I can't wait until this eventually lands on console edition! About to start another Terran Empire (star trek) campaign. My evil overlord in me had a little too much fun until I poked the bear and pissed off the spiritualist dormant empire 😅
Can already tell Borin is gonna be a gigachad. The salvaged character design was already really neat, and now this dude looks like someone we'd want to have a beer with while we talk the finer points of voidcraft design - probably why he's got the substance abuser trait lol
Now we just need hero starships, like we've seen in SW: Empire at War :DD how cool would be to have like a pirate vessel with custom shield module or a special gun modified by the crew!
IMO it makes sense that these Paragons don't seek out Hive-Minds or Machine empires. Why would you as an individual seek out a hive mind or a machine? Personally I like that they try to stay more realistic, that gives those leaders a much better flavor than if everybdoy could get everybody. A hive mind misses out? Yeah, not cool for them - but everybdoy else benefits because the leaders feel more natural. (But obviously it is easy for me to say, because I don't play Gestalt.)
I wonder if modders will be able to add in new paragons. There are quite a few with this dlc but for unique leaders there doesn’t really seem to be all that many of there are only 2 per ethic. Still happy though thank you PDX!
here to sadly predict these paragons will not work with hive minds, or at least not devouring swarms, and not for machine empires (possibly one specifically for rogue servitor) and... of course, as i'm typing i get to the part in the video where it is stated, "no gestalt empires".. i think i'm giving up on buying dlc at this rate.
I wonder how would this work for genocidal empires? It would be silly if a genocidal empires can get paragons of other races, but would be unfair if they can't get them at all. Meaning that they should make paragons of all types for every race
Yep, I'm going to be terraforming that size 30 barren world in my home system. Yes, please. I miss the old Moo 2 when you could convert gas giant's and asteroids in the planets in the late game..
I hope that some absolute gigachad of a modder creates a set of paragons for each civic so its not just your ethics but also your civics can give you paragons. Examples: A paragon of Byzantine Bureaucracy who is a governor that buffs your bureaucrats A paragon of master crafters who is a governor that helps with consumer goods A paragon of Relentless Industrialists who slows how long it takes to turn the worlds into tomb worlds or something Agrarian Idyll paragon who is a space farmer just looking to settle down An Angler paragon who is the best fisherman in the galaxy (maybe this could be a thing with the Tiyanki Matriarch where it is stuck in that system unable to leave because of a grand net that this paragon created to trap it? With that it could be either a scientist or a governor) There are loads of possibilities here. As for gestalt consciousnesses maybe instead of finding paragon there would be a way to grow/build a paragon for yourself where you research a tech (Paragon Creation/Paragon Growth) and like a megastructure you can build/grow them or something. Another potential paragon idea as I'm thinking about it would be for Memorialists where you know that archeological site where you find the weird tomb thing and there are the statues guarding it (I don't know what it's called) and that one statue wants to leave, you can get that statue as a paragon, I haven't read the event in a long time.
What we're gonna be given is exciting enough, but imagine the potential mods for this! Cutom paragons, more narrative events, character-driven event-chains. I still think they should have lumped this with First Contact instead of making them two separate DLC's but I hope this is gonna be great!
I wonder if there will be events that happen if you recruit one, but then change your governing ethics to the opposite one (spiritualist becoming materialist, for example)

Its not like there aren't machine leaders you can gain from events already in the game, i can see not being able to add them to your 'council' as a machine empire, but being able to integrate a machine paragon into your empire in every other way shouldn't be an issue i would think.
