I own one. Love it. Very comfy on long trips. Great acceleration when needed. Suspension is amazing. I have driven the Aspec extensively, not as good. If you can afford it, the Type S is much better! I had a paint blemish on my driver door when I bought mine that I did not discover at delivery. It is being repainted, bummer! I still love the car.
Absolutely fantastic ride - my only gripe is the range, not necessarily the mileage. Tank is a little small but hey, it’s a performance SUV, what did I expect?
Being completely honest, the MPG is horrendous and the tank is small. If high MPG/range id a requirement, steer clear of this. We’re averaging 16/17 MPG and are lucky if we see 300 miles on a single tank. Outside of that, it checks every other box for us.
No offense, but if you are in the market for a luxury "sport" SUV, then MPG shouldn't even factor into your decision. Either you can afford to drive an impractical vehicle, or you can't. If the MPG makes you nervous, then stick to a Toyota hybrid or something else. I own a 2023 MDX Type S and get around 16-17 MPG and a little less than 300 miles on a full tank.
I have a catted downpipe, full exhaust and a cold air intake things pushing 390hp and I haven’t even put a jb4 tune in it. It’s fast man lol. Once these things drop in price and the tuners get their hands on em they will be up there with the jb4 bmw’s
@@bornagainmotoring being sarcastic lol. Acura holds their value too much lol. I had a catless downpipe on it and it sounded even crazier, I ended up putting a catted downpipe because it throws a MAF code and throws off the whole system. Nothing will work not even the dynamic mode slelector or air suspension worked, so I put a catted downpipe. With a flash tune I bet it can easily make 500hp like the NSX.
@kelvinmejia8384 nice! I’d be interested in a tune to fix the auto up shifts for the transmission when in manual and maybe a little more aggressive in S. I haven’t really looked into modifying it yet…
@@bornagainmotoring I always drive it in sport around town and sport+ on the highway the trans keeps up. It’s quick man I’m highly impressed I highly recommend modding it and opening it up. The couple times I've done a "launch" in it proves it is certainly capable from the power perspective. I still think the handling and turn in are my favorites. The thing hides its weight very well.
Acura handling is too good. Enjoy driving my A Spec more than Mercedes, BMWs of similar size believe it or it not. Wish they'd have an MDX with no 3rd row, and 2nd row pushed back 6 inches or so - would be much better for 4 total passengers. All Acura are a bit cramped if you've got large people.
Totally agree on the handling, Honda/acura really knows how to dial a car in from the factory. Also, good point on the row, surprised it’s not an option.
ELS isn't that great. Its definitely above average though. Not as good as a proper aftermarket install, still. It's just people are getting dumber, and aftermarket audio shops aren't as consistent as they have been (as far as understanding audio and installing properly). I wish the tlx type s had those massaging seats.😅
Do you have the TLX Type S? The system in the MDX is superior to that one. I’d recommend you check it out if you haven’t yet. Admittedly, I’m no audiophile but I do appreciate good sound.
I had a hybrid RX and they are gutless. That and the fact that the cost to replace the hybrid battery is 10k-20k and factor in the emissions to pull the materials out of the earth and then make the battery. Petrol only for me until the carbon offset is at least 75 percent.
SUPER NICE SUV. I JUST BOUGHT MY 2024 ACURA MDX TYPE S ADV PACKAGE LOVE IT.. MUCH BETTER THAN LEXUS..
Yeah, Lexus is nice but Toyota plays it too safe in the performance department.

Range should be 400 miles. Great vehicle otherwise. I get about 22 hwy miles per gallon. I love that it is two cars in one.
@davidjones2059 if I’m lucky I’m getting 300 on a tank with mixed driving. Seems others are getting about the same. Wish I could get 400…
I agree it is the most comfortable!
No doubt, with 6k miles on the clock.
Thanks for the review 👍
Thanks for stopping by!
I love the car. I left my m40i for it. It has all the cool bells and whistles but it's definitely not fast.
Not the quickest out there but not the slowest 3 row either!
Thanks for the presentation.. Does Acura offer a cargo cover and tie down points that will allow you to use it as a two row vehicle.
Yes, in fact mine came with an all weather cargo cover as we usually leave the third row down to fit my son’s stroller and accessories.
Very nice cars collection you have my brother,May God bless your work my bro❤
Thanks bro!
I'm on the fences to buy this suv. I have a 2018 MDX Hybrid and need a 3 row with good power, but it's the mpg that I'm worried about

Gas mileage is worst thing about the car

@@bradstonesifer3398 your comment is dumb. We're talking about an Acura, not Ferrari. Also, I own a Type S. Love the car but the mileage is a downer.

I bet that woke it right up! It is a bit quiet from the factory. Also, I selfishly don’t want these to drop in price 😆

@kelvinmejia8384 I saw video of the TLX type S beating the Integra Type S in the quarter due to its all wheel drive. Great choice!
285mile range with nearly a full tank of gas? How big (tiny) is this gas tank?
18.5 gallons
MDX Type S can hit 0-60mph close to 5.0 secs. It definitely deserves the badge considering the weight.

If you want better mpg go for aspec
Yeah, good call. The performance won't be there but if MPG is the primary concern, would likely be the better choice.
What is the mpg?
averaging about 16-17 MPG

Man stop the bs. That 25 speaker ELS system in the Type S Advance sounds amazing. If you don’t own one, please don’t comment.
He thought it was the same that was in the TLX without realize the MDX has a superior system. All good now.
$150k. No way
A fully loaded MDX type S goes for around 74k, not sure what your 150k reference is towards.

Poor gas mileage... terrible why no hybrid????
My guess is that they wanted to give one last go at an all motor attempt before switching to electric, which is what the ZDX will be.

I owned a MDX TYPE S for about 5 months and the gas mileage was beyond ATROCIOUS!
Yeah, it’s pretty bad
