Taking this out in smooth to light chop water conditions is like riding a cruiser motorcycle on the highway. Pure comfort. Set the cruise and enjoy the view. I used to ride crotch rockets when I was young, and never felt comfortable with my feet in front of my body on a bike. It's my favorite way to ride this. Not to mention no traffic or objects to get in my way. I'm loving it! It will still throw you off if you do something stupid. I haven't, but I can feel that it will. I appreciate the info on the rooster tail. I thought it was a pee hole, but there is another stream that comes out of the left, port, side at foot level, too. That must be the real water pump discharge hole.
The best top speed so far for me is 62mph. That's with two people riding(370lbs of people weight with the heavier person, 250lbs me, on the back,) 1/4 of a quart of oil short from full, and the trim in the middle. The water wasn't glass either. If the oil is completely full then it knocks off about 1-2 mph. If I am riding by myself, then I also lose another 1 mph. Dumb gallons used counter reset every time the ski and screen are turned off. Yes, there is a fuel gauge but that kinda stinks for most boats and PWCs. The middle console is not waterproof during a rollover, in my case anyway.
I concur. I can't get mine past 60, but that is plenty fast for me. I'm usually cruising between 25 and 30, anyway. I didn't want crazy speed, or else I would have gone with a supercharger. If I keep out of the throttle, these things will cruise all day on one tank of fuel. It sounds great without the supercharger. IMO.
Nice enhancements. I have a pair of the 2021 FX Cruiser HOs. That new rear deck is super sweet, as are the tie down points on the handlebars! Would love to have those. Hard to overstate how cool and useful the speed control is, especially out on the ocean. These things are sea worthy for sure. My wife and I drove ours from Oceanside to San Onofre and back last weekend - about 20 miles along the coast each way. We've also had them out off San Diego when the ground swell was 8 feet + and it was absolutely rad. "Confident" is 100% the right word. Our next adventure is Long Beach to Catalina.
What newer PWC is "Flickable" but also decent for cruising bigger waters like the Gulf of Mexico (Not that big of waves... but choppy at times). I'm in my mid 40's... I like to ride aggressively... but after jumping and cutting a while, my body reminds me of my age lol. At that point, I like to cruise.
Thinking of ordering a 2024 fx Ho or a gtx 230 but I might slip down to a gtr 230 or vx ho. The price for the fx is just too steep. 23k after tax and no trailer. I think if ur paying that price for a ski a trailer should be included.
and one more thing - the stream that comes from the back is for you to know that there is water coming out from your jet and nothing is blocking the intake (seaweed and such ) the spray on the side of the jet ski as shown in 6:17 is the cooling water comin out from the engine . you have to check these two streams all the time to know that water flows into the jetski engine and that there is cooling to the engine - if you don't see them - there is some problem so shut off the engine and try to check what is blocking the intake underneath the jetski .

Yamaha makes the best PWCs no doubt, but after tax, title, freight, and trailer, there’s no way you walk out of the dealer paying under $20k (usd) and that’s a bit scary to me
If you include the best possible adm of 600, plus their y.e.s warranty your 20k estimate is extremely close. 23-25k out the door is now typical in the states with some dealers selling 30% over asking and people will pay it without hesitation
@@jeffro7475 It shows no sign of slowing, there are a ton bought and sold on spec. It always pays to shop around, but you have to include total cost when looking at a new machine, and that includes maintenance and used value, Yamaha does well in both. I have a 2013 FX Cruiser HO, my regular play ground is the Chesapeake Bay, I'm not sure what to think about water that flat, I know I'd appreciate it especially when performing tow sports, but I think I'd get bored. Here on any given day best case is a 1' chop, average is 2', and 3'+ is more frequent than 1', we do have times when the water is flat but this phenomenon is measured in hours, often followed by a violent storm. The new features are nice, it may be time to upgrade though I'll say, the 2013 has held up beautifully. Specifically, the changes I like, in order are the electronic transmission control, electronic speed control, the rec deck, the move of the flush port, the removable able tote / storage. The touchscreen? I'll reserve judgement until I have one, for now, my view is "ehh". FYI I can hit 68mph on the 2013 FX on 1' seas, in my experience completely calm water is not necessary to hit the top speed on these things, no question you hit the top speed for your body weight. For reference; I weigh a tad more than half what you do. I am big fan of the FX Cruiser, it's an adventurer or an adult's ride, what you want if you're gonna be out in rough water on a regular basis, handles tow sports nearly as well as dedicated tow PWC's. I also have a 2022 GTR 230 which I love but it's more for playing, not my choice to take across the bay on a rough (2'-3'+) day, though I have done that. Most people come over and think they like the GTR better, leave preferring the FX Cruiser. In my opinion, if you have room for 2 PWC's on your pier a sport model and a luxury model are good compliments. Come down and do a Chesapeake edition; ride on the bay and your opinion of what is fun on a PWC will change forever. FYI: if top speed is most currently the most important trait of a PWC to you; give riding rough water a try, there are days I'm out that I cannot maintain 30 mph, but it's a lot of fun, completely changes the definition of a good time on a PWC. Riding rough water brings justifiable fear and adrenaline into the equation, if you've never experienced that, give it a try.

The only thing not there is the price point, just like the jet blaster. The spark broke out big for being a fun little ride while at the time having a low price point. This really offers nothing at its high price point. And yes I get the spark is expensive now but when it first broke out to capture a fan base it was cheap.
I recently purchased a 2022 VX with extended warranty $17,000 purchase, great machine, everything they said it would be, at 6.5 hours the check engine light came on, while flushing it out in my driveway, I took it to a local authorized dealer and was charged $150 because the "code" didn't indicate a manufacture defect, after speaking with Yamaha Corp and they did an excellent song and dance routine, I am now concerned that Yamaha does not stand by their product. Had the same problem with my brand new ‘19 VX - It died out in the middle of the lake. The machine as totally dead. I figured it was a fuse or battery. I gave the battery cable a wiggle (not easy to do in the middle of a lake - lol) and sure enough, super loose. I tightened it enough by hand to get me back in. Tell your viewer which PWC you would buy for yourself. You have the luxury of testing all the brands and all the models within the brand, I don't. So a nod to one particular model from one particular maker from you will hold alot of sway with me.

When the machine was out in the sun and it got really hot, that is when the screen wouldn't work/freak out. When it cooled off at night it would start working again. I got the new screen when it was starting to get a little cooler so time will tell.
color is bad, not many new extra's they added, other than the docking feature, rear deck, and the ladder. i wonder how many times a owner will forget to raise the ladder, and shove it back up an in ?. touch screen: i see a high dollar item getting soaked from water..electronics and water do not mix !. no pop up tie downs ?, yeah..i'll keep my '15 fx cruiser ho, and the best part ?, i paid 15k OTD for mine ( usd ).
Take a shot everytime he says PWC instead of watercraft
that's a boat 🚢
😍😍😍😍
There is no way that is worth 20k CAD. Way over priced. There is zero justification to price this more than a base Toyota Corolla.
A base Corolla has less hp and doesn't float.
Toyota won’t gloat
Float
I like your reviews: "Joe Everyman checks out a PWC like a real person would do". But I need you to leave the mothership spiel "never met a PWC I didn't like" and draw the line in the sand. Tell your viewer which PWC you would buy for yourself. You have the luxury of testing all the brands and all the models within the brand, I don't. So a nod to one particular model from one particular maker from you will hold alot of sway with me.
go with an SVHO and dont even consider the HO.
Exactly

Dude, your just sad!

"Yah-mah- ha" not "Yamm-a-ha", gomer. A yam is a type of potato. It's never too late to not sound like a doofus.
Potato or Potato - Data and Data. Who cares? Thanks for watching!
@@TruckKing If somebody mispronounced your name would you say "who cares?"....but ultimately, it's just a damn UA-cam video, so who gives a shit.
