Mini metro side indicator repeaters , classy .

The list is long , fellow Elan owner .
The mirror switch is definitely a GM part. My Dad's Carlton, my old Saab 900SE and my Elan all had / have it so I know it well. I've also never seen one working.
Yeh, same one as many 90’s and 00’s Vauxhall’s. Corsa, mk3 Astra, mk3 Cavalier, Calibra, Frontera, Zafira, Carlton, Vectra B, mk4 Astra etc etc all share that switch. The only difference on “some”, is that they don’t all have heated mirrors, so they don’t have the heater switch or the LED. Ones with heated mirrors though, are identical.
Those Electric Window switches are also GM. Same as on things like the rear doors on the Frontera, Cavalier, Carlton, Senator etc
This was actually a fun video. Thanks! 😁
Thanks for the Video! Love the Elan, just bought my 3rd one (had so sell the others over 15 years ago). Made in 1990 with original 23.500KM on it, first owner
No problem Michael, glad you liked it! Your low mileage Elan sounds awesome 👍👍👍
You can save a lot of money dipping into other companies parts bins. McLaren used mid/late 80s Citroen CX door mirrors on the F1. I think the prototype F1's rear lights were a type used on HGV trailers!
I think the rear lights on the F1 are from the Dutch Bova Futura bus! Nice. Some people on the internet say that the windscreen is the same as the Elan, but they look a totally different height in reality.
Rearview mirrors on McLaren F1 are sourced from VW Corrado
@@andrewlipsiner9791 I didn't know the mirrors on the production F1s were from the VW Corrado, you learn something every day. I do remember seeing the Citroen CX face-lift mirrors on F1s. They were probably used on the original prototype or the XP series of early test cars.
Turning wrenches on my m100 right now... gotta change the fuel filter
The key must be an S2 thing, I didnt know any of them had remote locking/unlocking
You're right. Only the S2 had central locking. one of the upgrades to the S2. Good luck with the fuel filter. I'll get around to my fuel gauge soon.
I have a Federal Elan, it has central locking, they just didn't bother giving us a remote. If I lock or unlock the door on the driver's side the passenger side does likewise.
@@karlhurn My 91 S1 has central locking , but key in door operated only .
Different fob .

elan M100 front window same
The F1’s windscreen is unique, it’s not the same as the M100. The price for the glass itself is $25,000 (£20,000), plus another $8,000 (£6,500) to cover installation fees. Phew!
