Minecraft is really more of a sandbox building type game, plus it might just not be your type of game.

2:40 That's the point! You can create furniture out of other blocks, for example stairs and signs! With that you have endless possibilities without an easy route. If furniture was added, everyone will be using it, making it unappealing
Another point: you create your own goals and challenges, again, that's the point! You don't often see different Terraria challenges, because it already has a built-in goal and role-play system. Minecraft has no boundaries: you can complete it without making armor or weapons, you can complete it without taking damage, etc.

Exactly. A chair is a chair, but a stair can be a chair, a desk, a computer, a shelf, and many more. Mojang has been leaning towards this multi-purpose design so that they can be used in multiple ways, like intentionally putting a face on the crafter, and even adding behaviors like candles not breaking when you replace the block under it which allows interesting designs.

2:36 : There is NO problem with building!!! You dont need furniture made for u to be able to build, use a stair block and signs. Thats the point.

Minecraft isn't a progression based game in that the goal is to acquire better gear, tools, and defeat bosses. The games progression is gathering and accumulating resources from all across the world and utilizing and experimenting with them in creative ways. The end game player in Minecraft isn't the one with the netherite armour and a dragon egg, they're the player with the complex base full of cool builds, redstone machines, farms, huge storage systems to keep that full chest of sponges, etc. It seems like you want Minecraft to be like Terraria, in which case just play Terraria. People often compare the two games but both are fundamentally different in that Terraria is progression based in the "levelling up" sense and Minecraft isn't. If you can't play Minecraft for a week without getting bored, then either there's a lack of creativity there, or you don't love Minecraft as much as you think you do. I think you've completely missed the entire point of Minecraft.

Minecraft as a builder game is stellar to me, my issue comes with how underwhelming the exploration feels. The options we have for traveling are by foot, horse, nether portal and elytra. Most of these are annoying to get working (not hard) for example horses are a pain to get across water, the nether ceiling portals are done through glitches and the elytra you get it at the end of the game. If you take into account 70% of the world is water and plains biome it makes it a chore to find other biomes or structures. Which btw they rarely have stuff that is worth the exploration... Jungle biome is the one biome I actually feel excited about because of the mobs and useful bamboo but other than that most biome exclusive items are just quirky and situational rather than something you feel excited to find. They need to add more biomes and make biome exclusive items actually change some of the dynamics within the game so that you feel inclined to leave your luxury spawn base in search for things that benefit your playstyle (think of how exciting it feels to go to the nether in search of blaze rods and how satisfying it is when you come home with all the items you needed)

Obviously the whole you're not supposed to kill the warden, but like, it does give you something, the sculk catalyst, which allows you to get more sculk blocks as base sculk is pretty, the shrieker is pretty funny, and the sculk catalyst is a very powerful Redstone item. Also, it's just a really dense form of XP which is useful as it can be stored and retrieved at any time.
For the consoles not having access to mods, that's what the marketplace is for, and even though I and many others think that the commercialization of mods is a bad thing, it's still giving access to it, and besides, that JetStarfish guy did that exact thing on java edition with locking his "better" exploration mod behind a 8 dollar pay wall on his patreon.
2:42 The problem with villagers aren't that they're trades are garbage, it's that they're too overpowered. Enchanted Pickaxes, Enchanted Diamond Swords, Enchanted Books, Enchanted Diamond Chest plates, cartographer maps, and I would say the problem is you overlooked 1.14, but all of those trades existed before 1.14, since 1.8 (although 1.11 for cartographers). The pre 1.8 trades were good too, even allowing you to buy eyes of ender without ever going into the nether, so not really scam artists.
3:39 1.16 did make the mobs harder, in the nether, with piglins, bastions, skeletons, hoglins, and magma cubes in the basalt delta. You need to go to the nether to get netherite and you also need to go to the nether to get to the end assuming the seed isn't a one in a hundred billion. This isn't to mention that the whole point of the update was to overhaul the entire nether, they didn't have time to do the overworld, and in the next update (or the update after that because it got split) the whole terrain generation got overhauled, mainly caves, making them way more open and hard to defend against, and given the fact that they're underground, that means that mobs are always there, so while mobs didn't get harder, the mobs' environment did. Then there's the problem on how would it work on servers, if one person like 20k blocks away got netherite, should everyone have to deal with the harder mobs, and Minecraft already has local difficulty which makes it so that the longer you stay in an area, the harder the mobs get, spawning more of them and with better gear.
3:44 EVERY UPDATE? 1.20 added netherite upgrade templates, which you didn't even touch despite being insanely important, you don't mention the loot of the ancient cities or how it's such a good place for diamonds, so I won't mention it either. 1.17 just added a bunch of random stuff, so I don't see how that hurt anything. 1.15 added a great new Redstone block and performance increases, you forgot that 1.14 came out, 1.12 was world of color and just cosmetic blocks, 1.10 was similar, 1.8 added a lot of decoration blocks and overall things to do, 1.7 made the terrain generation better, and we are 11 years back so I'll stop.
4:07 also I feel like 1.21 kinda undermines the whole point of this video, as you said earlier that Minecraft needs to update their bosses, weaponry, and building qualities, and it did weaponry in a major way, while doing the other two in more minor ways with the new tuff/copper blocks and the breeze/trial spawners. Given the fact that you haven't played this update despite the fact that it's been out for a month some what proves that your supposed fixes to revive the game in your opinion doesn't work as it didn't even make you play the game despite being basically what you wanted.

I totally agree. People say "it's not a progression game" or "adventure is optional" - even if so, these are still elements of the game and imo they are done poorly from today's point of view. As you've said, the game is too easy.

Minecraft is based on your level of creativity. You can do anything you want, whether thats vanilla or modded. But for the sake of the argument we’ll stick with vanilla. Because it has restrictions vs modded mc, you have to be even more creative to make workarounds to achieve certain things. Especially with building or something like redstone. When you look at the things ppl make with redstone, the options for what you can make are literally endless. Ppl have made literal computers from redstone IN minecraft. But it requires you to learn and be creative. You can make an infinite amount of personal goals within mc outside of achievements. But not everyone has a high level of creativity which is fine, so for those ppl mc can be very boring if theyre going specifically off of the progression of defeating all the bosses and getting every achievement. Mc’s progression ends for them after that. For ppl like that a great game to them would be something like skyrim which has hundreds of goals and progression but you can go about it however u want. Mc isnt for everyone, but that doesnt make it a bad game.

You're right, and I don't think its a bad game. My main gripe is that the adventure side of the game hasn't had any major changes to give the players who enjoy it (like myself) the grind/challenge they crave.

I think making a comparison to terraria is pretty unfair. With terraria, its very point A to point B. Even if you do things like change the difficulty or go for a different class, your still just moving from point A to point B. And it stays that way for the entire duration of a playthrough.
Whereas minecraft's main gameplay loop is not permanently tied to progression. Just think about how many hours you've spent playing post-ender dragon in comparison to playing post-moon lord. Minecraft is a game where you decide on goals to reach. Terraria is a game which gives you goals to reach.
Nobody said enchantments or netherite or even diamonds was a necessity in a normal playthrough. You yourself went out of your way to grind for those. If the game becoming "too easy" is simply due to you going out of your way to make it too easy, then yeah ofc its going to be easy. Like using legendaries in pokemon makes the game too easy, like using cheesestrats in terraria against the destroyer makes it too easy, or using ultra shortcuts in mkw makes it too easy.

killing the warden should unlock a new dimension or new items so it has a purpose

    • @jessew1359
      @jessew1359 4 місяці тому +1

The whole point of the Warden is that you're not supposed to kill it. Its designed so that the player has to be alert and patient, and instead sneak around it to loot and explore the ancient city.
