A great review on a machine for which there must be a niche market in the UK, ER. Personally I cannot see the point of such an expensive to buy, expensive to run behemoth on the UK's antiquated and decaying road system with its 70mph max speed limit and where town traffic is often at a standstill, unless of course you have shares in Esso and mainly do motorway riding or drag racing.
Yes, not many will take the jump to this sort of money, then again it has quite a cult following . Heck of a ride though, as you can tell I really enjoyed my time with it. Thanks Jim, Have a good week my friend .
Wow! A leviathan of a bike! Low the raw power though. It's a far cry from my type of bike but I'd have that over a Harley anytime! An iconic Exeter Rider final scene with a train roaring past in the background 😁🤣🤣
Beast of a machine. I always think they sound like an old Spitfire plane. Funny you mention the weight, we stopped at the old MotoCorsa cafe in Gillingham yesterday and there were two of these outside in the car park. When we were getting ready to leave, two men who were easily very late 60's, probably in their 70's, came over and got on these bikes. They wheeled them out backwards and it seemed that once you get it moving it's quite manageable. The noise when they started them up, beautiful. Nice bike, bonkers money.
Total fan girl here 😋🤤 Nice to have a dream bike that isn't Italian. Love the way it has a three digit speedo, I'd be a nightmare on it. One question, did you scrape the pegs on the corners?
Wider tires allow you to lean more, while being higher off the ground. Plus, if you hang off the bike in most corners, you probably never will scrape the pegs.
Excellent and informative review. It is an easy bike to fall in love with for sure. My only problem was keeping my feet from blowing of the pegs at 150 mph.😄😄
When you were showing the manoeuvring stood by the bike I nearly had a panic attack! Great review. Shows how much the bike has developed since my test ride in 2006. At the time a wet roundabout nearly got me and I went on up to Bridgwater and bought the VROD. But it was a close call.
Can't fit one through my front door. My '99 FXDL lives in the hallway, just up the lanes past the cat & fiddle where the third world cart tracks meet pothole central. Good luck with the channel.
Thanks Phil, I can see you on one too. Right up you're street really with all that power and long distance capability, but as you say its a big leap with the money. Have a good week mate.
Yes I tell people that they are not heavy and awkward at all and such a beautiful bike to ride if your sensible anybody can ride one a pussy cat really triumph have as you say done a great job with styling one of the best looking bikes on the road in my opinion it everybody’s I know take care ride safe
see ,, told you s 73 has the airfield under control ,,;; as for the bike --- i was at the triumph factory today , - and saw the prototype with cutaways of the powertrain ;; very clever engineering , well worth a look ,,, i just prefer the harley style classic look , the rocket looks a bit [ actually a lot ] to much of a transformer meets lego mismatch ;;
I was getting around 45 indicated average...not as bad as I thought but still....this kinda disapeared out my head , I was happy with 45 because I enjoyed every second riding it : )
I'm surprised it's taken you so long to review this bike, you mentioned you'd had fleeting tries of the other models, must have been the MK1 as little has changed since the 2018 relaunch. Speaking of which that started with the TFC which had similar power to the Storm, then in 2021 Triumph produced the Black R and Triple Black GT. Each of these models were limited to 1,000 bikes World wide enticing folk to buy them for their exclusivity. Triumph just kicked them in the teeth by offering spec from them all on a non limited range. As an owner of the Triple Black I feel cheated, though arguably it's a better looking bike than the Storm. That said it's everything you described and more and I can't imagine the small increase in power makeing much difference to what already is one very powerful machine.
When I say "tries" I mean I only sat on them....yes it took me a while to get on one but in the past Triumphs have been very hard for me to get hold of. I still have have never ridden a speed triple! for example. I can see where your coming from with your story. But your last sentence is spot on, whatever happens you have a super bike : )
What a beautiful machine love this model, I do like the modern bikes aswell and this I’ve admired for a while … can’t afford one but fantastic bike and as normal Steve brilliant review and can always guarantee a quality review cheers Steve for showing us this beauty Atb Phil
I love this bike, but I like the R even more. Its just about the only bike I don't look stupidity large on. The dash for me its biggest let down. I wish it had a couple of more traditional looking round dials.
@@exeterrider. It’s easy to criticise and I don’t think I could put a UA-cam video together without any hiccups. Excellent work keep them coming. That turntable manoeuvre was scary on tiptoes!! SW France.
@@Saddlebags73 I'm trying too, but I get scared past 71, bit like you when you mentioned in the Live show going 160 on your mates bike, but you were on the back so it doesn't count 😂

No, I;m no way brave enough....I wouldn't want to risk not getting anymore from them lol

@lilynorthover8378 He said "back lane lanes" I'm unsubbing again 🙄

Ha, you are the Rocket legend and always will be in our eyes over here.
Brilliant 😂
Blimey..must be a bit of a culture shock getting back on the RE350 after this monster😂
Well since I fitted my DNA filter, they are about the same now............
Well maybe not😂
I might be able to afford the bike when it is 2nd hand in a few years time but I will never be able to afford the back tyres...🤔
Yes they won't be cheap!
Isn't alcohol free cider just apple juice 😂😅😅😅
😂
Yes it is! But this one has a little fizzle. So it's sparkling cider! 😂
Damn! I've been had!

First, it's cider. Second, it's a malt cider with 0.5% abv or less.

Yes it is alot different from older models but I think people still think they ride like the older models but infact it's all so much better now.

I totally agree on that one 👍
The Rocket 3 was on offer for £17000 recently. Nice bike but I wouldnt pay list price, wait for the next reductions.
17! That's quite a stop. Lovely bikes
I couldn't stand the super wide and uncomfortable shape of the tank so I got the bobber. No complaints.

I think S73 is a spy or something. I'm keeping my curtains closed from now on!
Sorry my elephant in the room is 2/1/2 litre bike. Why even if youve got the money for bike and to pay for juice god knows what mpg is.

A Vincent Black Shadow, for the Modern Age....maybe?
I think that's a good point there, yes maybe

@exeterrider I've already had the R out. Lovely machine, but nothing still compares to the exciting and still mildly scary MT10

Its a big bike to move around at slow speed...you would have to sit on one and see how you feel.
After owning 3, it’s not a beginner’s bike
Great video, very well produced 👏
