Nice one! All you MCN reviewers are great. I don't have a lot of desire for this beast, but I appreciate that it's around. I demoed it last year - lots of fun.
This bike looks huge online but I was surprised how compact it is live in-person.
This thing is insane. That torque is nuts. Good review, good honest dude 👍
Great reviewer! He surely was someone important in the British government in his previous life)
Ludicrous. But probably my fave cruiser - and the ridiculous engine size makes it all the better. And that GT should imo be stretched into a better genuine tourer - separate it more from the R with a bigger tank, real luggage (and pillion) options and it would surely be a much better long distance bikes than any of those R18 tour variants.
I have a 2023 Rocket-R model, and the crowd that this Bike Attracts during Bike Nights it makes Every Harley-Davidson in the crowd disappear. I love to park it, and have people look at it. And I did have to buy the Quick-Shifter, and the heated grips on my R model
Ive had one and yes when new people came round for a look and they still do not so much but they do on my Fatboy and my BMW R18 too
IMO, it would look a lot better with a single 8-inch headlight and a pair of spots.
I have had the TFC variant for 4 years now, love it! Quick shifter is sublime, well worth the investment. Average 46mpg over 20,000 miles. I don't hang about but not heavy on the brakes, so fairly efficient. Sport mode is insane! These new Storm models look great.
Masterpiece in motorcycling engineering.
Seriously not lying about that torque. During a demo ride, I was doing maybe 40mph (70kph?) in 6th, going uphill, and the bike just pulls. Its insane how much torque is on hand for this bike. It does look way bigger in pictures than in person, but its still a big bike. Handles surprisingly well for its size
What an amazing review mate.
Totally agree with you, that it looks really intimidating but as soon as u start riding it becomes so easy.
I was lucky enough to buy the 1st storm in India and it was just an amazing experience.
Would love to see a comparison video of with and without a quick shifter.
Thanks have a great day.
Really good overview, thank you Dan. Not my kind of bike at all but interesting to see.
As for faults, I'd say the lack of a reverse gear is one. Just my opinion, of course.
Rocket 3 came out in 1968. this bike is the beast among beasts.
Not a cruiser type, but keen to give this a go.
Triumph had demo of their new lineup yesterday in my area. They had advertised ahead for weeks that the Rocket3 would be one of the bikes to try. I go there, just to be told that they had sold it off and did not have any other to demo. They even tried to sell me a Speed Triple I wasn`t even allowed to demo.
Obviously not much has changed since my Moto Guzzi Griso 1100 from 2006: Lots of displacement in a low number of cylinders and shaft-drive do not combine to be a quick shifting ride. With experience you can still shift without clutch but I would not recommend this as the standard-gearchange ...
Nice review of a great looking bike. Just a bit too heavy for me. 😊
I love the bike for its size that gives it a real presence no car driver can ignore . Shaft drive brilliant, fwd controls a terrible idea. I like the R with the high screen and I’ve never had a bike with a quick shifter so I wouldn’t miss it.
Great vid , thank you.. My question is, if you drop it, can you pick it up on your own ?
Only if your first name is "Thor"
I think I might struggle!
You can if you don't skip leg day.
hallo !!
hallo from Greece !!
I have a 2020 Rocket 3 and the bike is out of service every summer when the conditions are good to ride it. I currently have about 12 thousand miles on the bike and should have much more, but it is always out of service.
Rear Brakes stops working about every 1500 miles.
Engine blew at 4500 miles
Now it just shuts off and gives me a TCS error and the only available slot for it to get looked at is Aug 20!!! I
really feel like Triumph Motorcycleles owes me something for the years of issues I have been having and all of the riding time that has been stripped from me for buying this product, which I am still paying for and not able to enjoy!!
Lovely bike but I wouldn’t want to push bk on it don’t think It’s got reverse 😂 Heavy bike
A deposit on the house in the UK?? Man I should consider moving there.
Sure the controls aren't back-lit? Coz they are on mine, last years model, so why would they not have them on this years?
Mine are back lit too
Can I have one in pink?
A) £23,000 used to be to buy a house and B) Quickshifter when you have that much torque? Nah.
How about you test that quickshifter first? And regarding the price, ppl pay more for a dumbass painting or a bottle of wine.
Would be fun to have for a weekend but ownership doesn’t make sense.
These bikes are so heavily restricted from the factory after tune they are beasts :)
😂 I think standard power would be more than quick enough for me.
What sort of power figures are the tuned ones putting out?
@@paulhope3401 triumph shows 180hp at crankshaft on dyno it is 149-150, after flash 180 to the wheel, on crankshaft 210~ 😉 but free flow air filter required and decat 😉
@@Dzinbhudist That would make it a total beast indeed...
There is no life after petrol.
Petrol’s not going away

Thats like 3 800cc engine in one!
I’m not thinking about sustainability or life after petrol.
23k and a gearbox that misses gears sometimes?? Pfft why is this still acceptable in motorcycle industry in. G 2024. Imagine buying a new car and salesman says this car is great but the gearbox is clunky and misses a gear every now and then lol. Good review tho
This or a Grom? 🤔
Depends on whether you need to compensate for something else... 😉

The Rocket engine in a Grom.

"Ginormous" is not a word. It's a fad word and a bad fad word at that. HOWEVER I love your review and it has good information.
Ginormous is an adjective. A word made up from two words. ‘Earliest Known Usage: 1942’ Not actually a fad is it ?
It's in the Oxford english, so It's good enough for me old chap. Perhaps yours is a pre-war copy
Save your money and re map your slightly older Rocket 3 with tune ecu
At times the video is out of focus, strange just at times😮
Nice bikes but unfortunately no much nice colors..dark colors not good to see the bike details 😕
Great bike ❤
Until now, all new models were better than older. From now on, the new models will be worse.
Too much money. Too quiet. Too smooth. Cruisers need to be a bit lumpy. Nice bike but not for me. I had the 1700cc Thunderbird. More soul. Sounded good.
Bro, come off it. I can see your little feet scraping when you're barely leaned over. No way in hell this is as capable in twisties as naked let alone sports bikes.
Came here to say this. If you lean anymore i think you'll get face planted by your own knee!!
With a capable rider on the Rocket, I think it would surprise a few people on a backroad. For such a big bike, it's surprisingly flickable.
Clearly , you have not ridden one?....do so, and you will be surprised
@@terryyates5131 I can see his feet scraping barely leaned over. You don't need to ride a bike to be able to see it doesn't have the ground clearance to corner.
That's because you're watching him lean on the GT. The R is a very capable scratcher
A quick shifter ? Really ? 😂 what’s the point ? It’s not a sports bike !!! 160 miles on a tank ? 😂
What's the point??? You just spent some serious money for 190hp and a boatload of torque. You damn well want to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible😂
It NEEDS a quickshifter!
I don't know about rhis bike..its kinda good in the way a hybusa is good. Bit yeah its all about credit control.
Youre like a Disney mouse
I wanted to see him actually sit on the bike, straddle the machine, paddle it about , he never did !
