    I never thought of putting cooking oil in one of those spray bottles before...air fryer life hack! Lol! I just got an air fryer 2 days ago, & I'm already hooked... I'm not huge on kitchen gadgets, but this thing is awesome! And no more oil splattering everywhere...frying fish is specifically what I bought it for, I'm finding out it can do so much more!

    This is the first air fryer I have ever owned. It works well ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB and, if you use the proper supplied silicone tray, keeps the food separate from the oil\grease of cooking. I cooked pizza, hamburger, lasagna, etc all with good results. (I also purchased some paper inserts to cover the silicone trays, just not to have to clean the trays.) Recommended. Just make sure to REMOVE the PAPER INSERT below the air fryer tray before using the air fryer! And yes, I have experienced a bit of an "electrical"-type smell after cooking items. It seems to have gotten less with time and did surprise my nose the first time I smelled it.

    Lovely recipe! You may want to try rice flour instead of all purpose flour next time. Rice flour makes a very light, crisp coating. It's also good for gluten free diets too.

      @E Mack I know it's been a year...I hope that you see this! With rice flour my experience seems to be that it can get kinda weird sticky, in a gross way, is there a brand or secret that you can share? I've been learning to live gluten free after YEARS of being sick and misdiagnosed ☹️ Now I finally know it's gluten and my life and health is so much better! 🙂
      If E Mack doesn't see this and anyone reading can help me out regarding rice flour and other gluten free flour.. please do! I am looking for light and crispy.
      Thank you to those who reply 🙂🙏

    When you cook in batches without preheating, you have to adjust time on the second batch. I reheat my pizza slices in 3-4 minutes in my Foodi grill, really just using the preheat cycle. But yesterday, my wife wanted some too. Did another three minutes on the second batch and they came out too crisp. The time has to be cut WAY down when the fryer is already hot.

      @@MyForkingLife That is true. But that's true about any kind of cooking technique that you use. And with an air fryer all you have to do is pull the basket out and look. You don't have to keep it on exactly what it says. These times and temperatures are not etched in stone. This is not part of the 10 Commandments.

    I'm new to the air fryer world, so these types of videos are really handy for me. As far as breading seafood goes, I use a plastic container with a lid and shake the fish in that. This way, I can just leave the leftover flour and what-not in the container and stick it in the freezer for the next time. Waste not want not!

    Try preheating the air fryer before putting the fish in to prevent from sticking.

      Good point! I always do it with chicken, preheating here would definitely help.

    I air fried some small bass fillets coated in cornmeal for my first ever use of the fryer, but it turned out too dry. I needed to reduce the cook time quite a bit. The outer layer was kind of tough. Apparently oil is key too?

    I just found your channel, and I am in love. I love fish. What kind of spray do you use?

    • @MyForkingLife
      @MyForkingLife  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you 😊 This is canola oil that I put in the bottle. Any high heat oil should work.

      @@MyForkingLife Is it just oil in the bottle or do you use a oil/water mix and if so what ratio. Thanks in advance!
